Everything is perfect
My boyfriend booked this place thinking it was a hotel but we were surprised to learn it was a Bed and Breakfast within the city limits! I did not know what to expect, but I couldn't have been happier with the experience. I like that you get a numeric code for the front door and your room instead of a card (which I am much more likely to forget or lose). Rene, the host, was amazing! He welcomed us, told us the history of the B&B, and helped us get acquainted with the city transportation and culture. The room was clean, had the perfect amount of space for our weekending luggage, and homey. Parking was a breeze and free! Breakfast wasn't your typical continental self-serve thing at other hotels; it was that AND something yummy made by Rene! This B&B made our trip to Montreal extra special. Highly recommended and if I ever visit again then I will definitely go again!
Rene is a perfect host, friendly and enthusiastic. We could have stayed the whole day talking to him and listening to his amazing stories. The house is nicely decorated and clean.
Everything was perfect, only the room could be a bit bigger. Our luggage almost did not fit inside. ;-)
It's the third time I've stayed here. Rene is very thoughtful and makes you feel at home. He even got up early to prepare breakfast as the other guests and I were here for the marathon. Highly recommended.
We learned about Montreal history. He also gave good suggestions about places to visit.
JR was so gracious and helpful. He is a professional B&B host that thinks of everything! We will be back for sure and you shouldn't think twice about staying anywhere else but here for your visit.
Rene (the owner) wants you to feel like family. And I did. Not only is Gite Ocoin like home, it is home -- Rene's. He was born there. Now he lives upstairs and the guests stay downstairs, with 24 hour access to coffee, tea, and the kitchen. Rene is more than willing to help with tourist info and was even willing to pick me up where I dropped off my rental car. Montreal is primarily French-speaking, but Rene is perfectly comfortable with English -- and also willing to put up with (my) grade-school French.
Home-from-home comfort, spotlessly clean, minutes from the subway, a warm and generous host, wonderful breakfast, would return in a flash -- highly recommended.
Friendly welcoming owner, great location near the metro, decent local facilities, lots of free on street parking. You can bring in your own food and use the kitchen if you want plus help yourself to a good cup of coffee any time you want. Decor is stylish and well thought out
Rooms are not very large and not all have full en suite facilities.
Rene was so welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived at the B&B. Close to the Metro that easily got us around the sites of Montreal.
Our Shower was a little awkward, but really not that big of deal with how wonderful everything else was about this place.
The smile and accent of our incredible host. very well situated on the green metro line. Breakfast (eggs :-)) and overall atmosphere in the "Gite"!
Wifi could be faster but nothing to complain about
A very friendly and helpful host, great location only three short blocks from the Metro for a short ride into or out of town. The breakfasts were good with self-service cold stuff and coffee plus something tasty cooked by the host. The bed was very comfortable and you could use the dining room & kitchen if you wanted to spread out a bit Plenty of places to eat within a short walking distance.
Nothing really not to like about the place, in an ideal world the rooms could be bigger and all would have full en-suite facilities but the best use has been made of the limited space available.
Jean René was pleasant, helpful, warm and funny! He was an absolute delight to converse with and took great care to make sure that our visit was as comfortable as possible. The room was cosy, the breakfast was excellent and the location was exactly what we were looking for. We hope to return to Montréal next summer and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.
Rene is great, makes you feel right at home, very comfortable, but also allows you to have your own space. He provides maps, travel materials etc, and lets you know about Montreal. He also has fascinating stories about his family, and the place where the B&B is presently. I will definitely stay here again when I go through Montreal.
My particular room had a bathroom across the hall (small hall), which is not that big o a deal, except in the middle of the night, it wakes you up a bit more to have to go further to get to the bathroom. Not a huge deal.
Perfectly renovated guest house, a very nice host who prepares local specialties for breakfast. This place is great!
Wonderful B&B with the perfect host: after a long, delayed flight we arrived at his home exhausted, and he managed to make us smile in an instant. René is full of energy and stories, always trying to help. Very personal approach and still enough privacy. Clean room and nice bathroom. Don't miss this lovely place! It truly is a gem.
Our room was a bit small for our luggage, but that felt like a detail.
The staff --Owner Rene gushes with enthusiasm which makes everyone feel most welcome. Hope we can do it again.
We couldn't stay longer.
The host was so welcoming and dedicated to his B&B, personal tips for sightseeing that perfectly fit our schedule, the breakfast was self-made by the owner and delicious.
We enjoyed an awesome stay in an awesome city with an awesome housekeeper! Rene is fantastictic host, really kind and helpful. Breakfasts were amazing. We felt there like at home :-) We are happy to met Rene. Thanks for everything!
Very friendly and welcoming owner; Renovated and very clean; Comfortable and quiet at night; Free parking on street.
We liked everything about it.
René is a most enthusiastic host and innkeeper, offering comfortable lodging, delicious home-cooked breakfasts, and excellent travel advice. The location is excellent, within walking distance of Montreal's major shopping/tourist districts. Rooms are well-kept and comfortable. All in all, an outstanding place to stay.
Extremely friendly welcome by our host René who was so helpful with suggestions and directions re. what to see/do in Montreal for 3 days. Also the gite is super cute, cosy & comfortable, lovely decor and lots of thoughtful touches like a power adaptor, umbrella (which came in handy), hairdryer, robes, everything a fancy hotel would provide. Location close to metro station was great too. We loved it.
No complaints at all.
René was a fabulous host suggesting places to go and how to get there. Like a "home from home".
Rene, the host, is a very nice gentleman and makes great breakfast. Though only one night, the experience was unforgettable.
