Great View of mountains. It is a great place for young couple or solo travelers. Welcoming and Friendly. It is a special place for people who love mountains! Good to meet Mr.Peter Austen. Very good Host!
It is not very spacious place if you are traveling with small kids.
Peter is very hospitable and responded promptly to a clogged tub situation. Fascinating climbing stories.
Kitchen was disjointed and lacking counter space.
We could sit on the veranda outside our room and enjoy the view.
When we arrived, we saw through the window how two dogs were playing on the bed in the room which turned out to be ours. There was not only dog's hair, but quite a bit of dust and dirt all over the place, lots of cobwebs in one corner. There was filth and dirt on the kitchen sink, the lavatory and the toilet bowl. The shower was really vintage: You had to hold it in your hand to take a shower. There was no table to sit at, no chair to sit on. Kitchen space was very limited. The fridge wasn't even plugged in when we arrived. The worst apartment we ever stayed at. We were disgusted
The view and location.
We paid $90 a night for two blow-up mattresses, an unclean room and very unclean washroom. While we expected a single room with no amenities, we were not told that we would not have a bed. Our booking confirmation said "Standard Queen Room". The owner made it seem like he was doing us a favour, as accommodation in the area was booked up due to a music festival. He also made it clear that he could have charged more as there were so many people looking for accommodation, poor character. The door to our room was also found open when we returned late the first night (we were told it was as a courteous but we felt that it was an invasion of space, as we did not know the other house guests and all our personal items were in the room). We booked it in early February and stayed in August. The booking process was also very abrasive. I would not recommend this place.
Made a reservation 7 months in advance..with a confirmation.. To find out 2 days earlier that i had no reservation anymore because i had to send cash days after i reserved the Room??!!... Thanks for letting me know
