Liked staying on the ski hill, nice and quiet away from town, but still enough amenities as needed
We got in about 9:30 pm the stars were magnificent just to be able to sit on your balcony and watch the stars Priceless. Also I have to recommend the restaurant there we had the best steak sandwich that we've had in years. The next morning when we were leaving it was just barely sunrise we pull out of the parking lot and just pulled out onto the lane in front of the building and a mama bear and two cubs crossed 5 feet in front of our vehicle it was breathtaking I loved the fact that the wildlife is still in that area and are safe
The only thing I didn't like was that they don't have staff early in the morning we were leaving at 7 am and we had to Put our keys into a plastic box I didn't feel that was very secure
This Lodge was very easy to drive to, just off Hwy 1 in Golden BC, short 10 km trip into the hills made this location very easy to access. Checking in was a breeze and the two bedroom suite was a dream set-up. The entire stay was wonderful and the restaurant in the lodge itself was delicious to behold. All around the trip was a "AAA" success Bravo on a job well done. Cheers!!
It was clean, had large patio, great bathroom with tub and shower. There was a fireplace and amazing kitchen. Everything was so clean.
Nothing. It was perfect and very reasonable
Great view nice clean room
Not much open on the hill for supper
I like they location right up at the mountain
the only thing bad about this lodge is it's hard to find on navigator.
Good restaurants Loved the view Underground parking nice
Room was warm at night.
reasonable price comfort bed
location: far far away from Golden downtown, staff: no service at all!!
Too hot needed air conditioning or a window we could open
Too hot needed air conditioning or a window we could open
The suite looked beautiful, had everything we needed (kitchen, 2 rooms, laundry). The screens on the windows/door was amazing as the mosquito's seemed to be much worse there
I'm a heavy sleeper, but I could feel all the bumps/springs in the mattress. I slept on the couch it was so uncomfortable in the bed. Not exactly what I was expecting from such a nice hotel.
Good location for Gondola
Small room Garbage truck early pickup Lawn mower beeping every time it did a run at 7 am so much for relaxing No chairs on deck
It was spacious and had a balcony but no screen door so mosquitos came in when we left the door open for fresh air.
No windows for cooling the sweltering room. No air conditioning. Unpreparedness of staff.
My family and I were traveling through on our way to Vernon. The location is a little ways out of town but well worth the extra driving. Location is amazing, our room faced the mountain, so the view was great. We took the gondola up to the top - it is a little pricey but really worth the money. The view from the top is spectacular and the hiking is breathtaking. I recommend eating at the restaurant at the summit. The food was delicious and very affordable.
Beautifully appointed room Most comfortable room Restaurant/Pub downstairs Easy access to Kicking Horse mountain
Garage door broke down as we were trying to get in
There were complaints that it would be hot because there was no a/c but we we're all very comfortable I love that the gondola was right behind the hotel and the shops it was just beautiful
The times things opened and closed!
We just needed a place to spend the night. Lodge is roughly 15 minutes off the highway. VERY quite in off-season but a few restaurants were open. Wonderful views, cool air. Seem much nicer than staying down in Golden.
We didn't like anything about this place.
Where do we begin. From the moment we arrived at 3 pm on a Tuesday afternoon out rooms were not ready so we ended up waiting in the lobby for two hours before we were allowed into our room. From here it continued to go downhill. There is No air conditioning in the room and while this may be just fine in the winter it is horrible in the summer when temps get above 90 deg. They give you a little fan to put in the window but there are no screens in the windows so the Mosquitos come at you at night and you end up sleeping in a hot and muggy room with zero air ventilation. The fun continues. We left for the day and expected to come back to a clean room but that didn't happen and when we asked for someone to clean the room they said they don't have room staff on Wednesdays. At this point we just laughed and said of course you don't. I would never go back to this "resort" in fact I would rather stay at the $50 a night place down in town. At least they have AC.
Awesome accommodations. Being a ski lodge, it had a restaurant with reasonably good food. But no real choices for restaurants. However, we loved the stay here and would stay again. Great value!
Too far from town to go have dinner and drinks. Don't like to ride motorcycles after having drinks.
This might be a great wine vacation spot.
No air conditioning, drink machines were empty, only 1 elevator for 4 floors. Said there was laundry but then it was not available for our room.
We had arrived at the registration desk at 8pm, to be greeted by a note advising us to sign the register in the box labeled with our name. We did so and carried onto our room. At 11:30pm, a staff member called and rudely accused us of signing the wrong box, signing the wrong register, and letting ourselves into another guest's room. We advised the person that they had obviously put the other guests register in our box. He was adamant he would not make that mistake and that we would be charged extra for the difference in the room price.
It is clean and comfortable
No AC. It is so hot during summer time and we couldnt open the window since there are bugs
Room did not have Air conditioning, faced south and the only ventilation was to leave the patio door open with no screen. With the door open unsecured all night room only got down to 26 degrees. Why didn't you tell us there was no air?
The Glacier Mountaineer Lodge is actually a series of rooms owned by individuals who purchased the rooms for skiing accommodations and then rent out the rooms under the Lodge's management in other seasons. We went in the summer and found the location to be out of the way. No staff was on duty for most of the evening and certainly not the night. Restaurants on site seemed so-so. The Lodge felt deserted. Nice view of a mountain, but not what I expected.
