Hard to say
The quality and cleanness of the room. Multiple spots on the carpet and the bed was uncomfortable
- Reception very friendly and accommodating - Rooms comfortable
- Continental breakfast with only unhealthy carb choices - Expensive to upgrade to full breakfast which did not offer much variety
No bath tub in the room
How quiet and restful is the hotel. Slept like a log. Very quiet. Breakfast just great. Auberge is so centrally located, convenient. Will return to this hotel next time I visit Montreal.
Room in slight need to be refreshed, especially bathroom.
Pool Convenient Location Friendly Staff
Hallways & room with musty smell Old bathrooms crying for help
It was close to the meetings I had to attend and I could leave my car in the public parking underground.
Room wasn't clean, I could hear the neighbors talk and their tv, as well as the loud rumor coming from the street, I barely slept. The price was high compared to the competition, and for what I got.
The government taxes were a bit much
Hotel décor. Staff. Rooms. Spacious, bright, clean - with a nice view of the city. Bed and pillows. Breakfast buffet - nice selection.
cleanness. excellent Wi Fi. The noise of the people at the nearby park was uncomfortable.
staff not cooperative. Receptionists & Administration staff were not friendly at all. Unlike what was in the booking.com page, I included breakfast in my booking, but found out that I only have a small portion of breakfast, and I need to pay for the rest.
The overall service and location. The parking attendant was also very helpfull.
There was no refregirator in the room and it took 4 request to obtain one. The decor is out of date.
Clean room, excellent service from staff
Breakfast buffet was ok but got boring after a few days
My grandson really enjoyed the pool.
The continental breakfast and the way it was set up. We upgraded to a full breakfast. I didn't see that option when I booked.
Anonymity. It's a perfectly nice sort of large 80's hotel. The location is very convenient...to the subway, and certainly to gay bars, if that's what you are after...which I was! Nice. Fine.
The desk staff (only the upper management, hilariously, everyone else was fine) were sort of rude and pompous, and confused about how my reservation (thru booking.com) worked. Irritating, though typical, sadly. There seems to always be a "the customer is always wrong" attitude in hotel management. Feh.
Location within walking distance of so many attractions. Fabulous night time views of the city. Comfortable room, and good breakfast.
Check in and reception service slow. Room facilities eg coffee and cups not always topped up. Hotel guide incomplete.
I visited Montreal with my sons ages 37 and 21 to tour the city and enjoy some of the food and atmosphere. I choose the Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis since it could accommodate up to 4 adults, had a pool, was conveniently located, was well priced and had decent reviews. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Responses to requests for extra towels was handled quickly. Front desk personnel were helpful and friendly. The location is good with walking distance to old Montreal - 15 minutes or. There was an underground shopping area attached to the hotel for convenience and you could visit the IGA and purchase food, snacks, wine or even cold beer by the can/bottle for the room. The beds were comfortable with little outside noise to disturb your sleep. Parking was easy and not too expensive with the Hotel validation - about $19 per day with no in and out restrictions. All-in-all it was good value for the money.
The standard rooms are showing their age and although the staff keeps the rooms clean and maintained they can't clean over the stained carpets, worn bathroom doors and fixtures and aging furniture. There is also an "old" smell in the hallways and rooms evidence of the need to renovate and update. As some reviewers have stated the surrounding area has some vagrants and panhandlers hanging around however it never felt like there was any risk walking around even at night.
Hotel surrounded by people begging. Very noisy people in quite a few room. Lots of doors banging through the night. The hotel pretends it is four star but at attracts chav behaviour
Staff was great!
The place could use some cleaning. The fact that we paid 200 bucks is not worth the stay.
Good price. Good location.
Parking. Got blocked in and had to wait 45 minutes while the attendant moved the car blocking me
I liked that the Hotel was only a 10 minute walk to Old Montreal and right aound the corner from a vibrant restaurant area. The parking charge was reasonable and you were able to go in and out as many times as you wished. The hotel was attached to an IGA food market which was very handy for buying snacks and odds and ends.
They were holding auditions for the reality show "The Voice" at the hotel which made the lobby always crowded. However, I have to say we were not bothered at all by the contestents at all. I wish they had a hot tub at the place but we did enjoy the pool.
It would have been nice to know the auditions were going on for" the voice."..however it did not impact on my stay..would have been nice to know
The service at the front desk was very poor and rude. The breakfast deal was horrible and most of the hotels that have breakfast included have everything on included on their breakfast and you don't have to pay extra
Old room and dirty level
Courtesy of the staff.very helpful too.
Housekeeping and supply of bathroom items like shampoo and fresh towels.also those plastic cups...very cheap
Facilities are old and dirty. Sauna out if service. Gym was just a room with 4 cycles. Not value the price. Breakfast included is not true, included is only a croissant.
