Nice location in the old quarter of Montreal. The room was a good size, The breakfast, while not included in the price, was good value and quality. Parking was beneath the hotel, and with the exchange of a voucher at the check-in, was free for the duration.
Our room was right behind the elevator, and we heard it rumbling during the night. Otherwise, the room was very quiet. Might be worth asking for a room not near the elevator well.
The 29th concierge floor was very nice. I used the business center. The view from my room of downtown was fabulous. Sammy at the front desk was always very friendly and always so helpful. He is the best. I will be back!
I wish you had movies available for purchase to watch in the room. I also wish you had an complimentary newspaper available in English.
Piscine Sauna Room Emplacement Prix Staff
The homeless rallye right in front but it's notre tour fault.
Staff was extreamly welcoming
The breakfast voucher only being worth 5$ when it should be 10$ like the price of the breakfast itself , paid extra 13$ for eggs and meat and it was all cold
Service was ok, location is great(walking distance to everything) great spacious clean room with a desk and lots of lights.
The entire floor hall way area carpet looks like need to be upgraded or to be washed to improve quality of the service.
Lobby is attractive, room was comfortable although a bit small. Service people were helpful.
Because I'm more used to motels, I missed not having a frig and microwave. But figuring out the breakfast hierarchy with the "free breakfast" coupon was off-putting. There is basic which the coupon, worth about $5.00 entitles you to - juice, coffee and pastries. 2nd level includes fresh fruit and cheeses for about $10.00, but if you want a hot breakfast, eggs, pancakes etc, you need to pay $10 or $12 more. I've never encountered this kind of system on any so-called "free breakfast".
Personal is doing his best go accommodate you.
Toasters at the restaurant, are so slow that people were leaving their bread into the toasters. Obsolete equipment? The desk lamp in my room was not working. Should be checked by housewife.
Perfect for our needs
Staff is friendly and attentive. Upon leaving, I forgot my personal device in room, but "Lost&Found" personnel responded quickly and successfully sent me my device back. Good price/quality ratio. Nice pool. Nice city view.
The location is good in general (close to Berri-UQAM station), but there were homeless and drunk people around (begging for money), which was unpleasant.
Hard to say
The quality and cleanness of the room. Multiple spots on the carpet and the bed was uncomfortable
location, nice view on Montreal from the rooms, swimming pool
with online booking, breakfast is very limited in choice and in quality. you need to upgrade to buffet breakfast to have fresh fruits and hot meals the heating/cooling system is very noisy
- Reception very friendly and accommodating - Rooms comfortable
- Continental breakfast with only unhealthy carb choices - Expensive to upgrade to full breakfast which did not offer much variety
No bath tub in the room
How quiet and restful is the hotel. Slept like a log. Very quiet. Breakfast just great. Auberge is so centrally located, convenient. Will return to this hotel next time I visit Montreal.
Room in slight need to be refreshed, especially bathroom.
The location of the hotel was great since it was very close to a main metro station (Berri-Uquam). Also, the beds were very comfortable!
We left our luggage at the reception during our first and last day since we were travelling before/after our room was available (A+ for that service!) but we waited a good 10 minutes to get served on our departure, which caused us to be extremely tight to catch the train! Also, they didn't provide washclothes so that was inconvenient (they aren't the only ones so maybe it's a standard?)
Pool Convenient Location Friendly Staff
Hallways & room with musty smell Old bathrooms crying for help
This place needs some serious upgrades. Toilet bowl took forever to flush. Lots of university students.
-Convenient location, parking under the hotel. -Fast elevators. -Helpful staff. Gave us seniors discount when we asked for it (not an option when booking online). -Biggest bed we have ever slept in.
-Free breakfast is advertised, but is only the sparsest of three breakfast options, where for the room cost you would expect a decent, hot, breakfast without an additional charge. -Cable tv had crummy channel selection; would expect better given cost of room.
It was close to the meetings I had to attend and I could leave my car in the public parking underground.
Room wasn't clean, I could hear the neighbors talk and their tv, as well as the loud rumor coming from the street, I barely slept. The price was high compared to the competition, and for what I got.
very good location.. staff were very helpful.. there's a fastfood right next to the hotel..and it opens at 6am so a good place to have breakfast.. hotel a bit dated but not bad at all..bed was very comfortable and contrary to some of the bad reviews, the hotel did not smell 'old' at all..
wi-fi not so good..
The government taxes were a bit much
Hotel décor. Staff. Rooms. Spacious, bright, clean - with a nice view of the city. Bed and pillows. Breakfast buffet - nice selection.
Close to metro, centre of everything. Were able to walk or take Metro wherever we wanted. Staff was very accommodating. We got off early from a cruise & they had a room ready early & let us check in @ 10 am!!! It made a big difference to our stay. I love the duvets!!!! A grocery store is adjoined underground as well as a food court. Very convenient.
The hotel is a little old & worn. It is a little "seedy" area with homeless around. But you can go underground and not be bothered during the day. Other than a few arguments we witnessed & asking for change we had no trouble with the area.
cleanness. excellent Wi Fi. The noise of the people at the nearby park was uncomfortable.
staff not cooperative. Receptionists & Administration staff were not friendly at all. Unlike what was in the booking.com page, I included breakfast in my booking, but found out that I only have a small portion of breakfast, and I need to pay for the rest.
The overall service and location. The parking attendant was also very helpfull.
There was no refregirator in the room and it took 4 request to obtain one. The decor is out of date.
