Score from 763 reviews Very good
The staff were wonderful from the front door, to the desk, to the wait staff (especially Matt who made us great real coffees). The room was large and comfortable. The kitchenette well equipped. Very close to Dundas Square & Yonge street. Central and convenient. The breakfast which was included was very good.
Toronto has a lot of homeless and there are a few shelters close by that might make the number near the hotel seem worse. We weren't bothered by anyone
Excellent restaurant for both dinner and the complimentary breakfast. Breakfast was amazing - full hot breakfast included with room stay! Super comfortable beds. Rooftop patio is a nice touch - great view!
Underground parking is a little tricky - tight entrance and small spots. Jarvis street is still in the rebuilding and refining stage.
This was the second time we had stayed at the Grand. We were not disappointed to come back. Good breakfast, wonderful pool, and good rooftop views.
Entry to the car park is difficult due to the placing of the key entry units. But this is a very minor point really.
Clean, friendly and central location. All facilities immaculate.
Hotel doesn't accept pre paid credit cards, didn't specify on booking and given incorrect information on arrival by staff which led to unnecessary stress on check out.
The interior of the hotel is nice, and the room was large and comfortable. We had dinner in the Citrus restaurant which was really good. Breakfast was good but would have liked pancakes or waffles - this is Canada after all!
The area is not great and I´m glad we didn't have to venture out on foot at night.
Well located and spotless. Beds were comfy and huge we were on floor 14 so had an amazing view from our room. We also went up to the roof top terrace in the evening to look at the city and spend some quality time with friends it was a real special night with added lighting effects from a storm on the lake. Lovely staff and great breakfast.
Aircon was effective but very loud. Car park is very tight and was packed so we spent about 15 minutes trying to find a spot, situation was retrieved y the team offering complimentary valet parking so we could make the most of our time
the hotel was beautiful. lovely decor excellent facitities. friendly staff. the room we got was lovely with added personal touch. The jaccuzzi pool on the roof was magical. food very good . good buffet breakfast. fantastic location very central
very little really . I suppose the people begging near hotel was off putting at first but we got use to them and did nt take too much notice. staff on door extremely helpful.
Beautiful and spacious breakfast room, the staff was agreeable and willing to help, very good location.
Small TV in a commodious room. Kitchen facilities should have been better , The freezer didn´t work properly. The pillows were hard, but they changed it at our request.
Wonderful food at lunch and dinner. Easy walk to good restaurants and St. Lawrence market. Great shuttle available in town. Staff very helpful. Lovely indoor pool and rooftop hot tubs and lounging area.
The place needs updating.
I love this place !
We love this hotel & have stayed a few times now. The staff are always helpful and friendly, the beds are very comfy and the breakfast is very good - fresh and lots of choice.
Our shower head was broken and would only stay in one position - not the end of the world, just an annoyance. A few more sockets would be helpful, especially near mirrors for families with girls who are all vying for hairdryers & mirrors.
Close to activities, helpful staff.
The pillows but that's a personal thing and I'm sure they would have changed them if I'd asked.
Generally once inside the hotel the facilities and staff were fine.
Walking to and from the hotel and city meant having to pass through some 'dodgy' areas east of Yonge.
Location and the fact when I had an issue manager treated me with empathy and support. Manager offered me discount for night by waving my parking fee which was very nice and I will be able to confact manager for next booking to ensure my needs are met.
Made an online booking with specific requests . When checking into hotel this reservation was not reflected in their paperwork hence rec'vd a room that was completely opposite to my requests . Room was cold and near elevator and area to rooftop so noise in hall kept me and my son up until almost 2am Was looking forest to sushi dinner and sushi was not available.
The atmosphere was excellent. The room was absolutely amazing, and the staff were kind, helpful and gracious.
You have to have a credit card to check in. Even if your paying cash.
We were upgraded with no additional cost to a luxurious huge mezzanine room with the largest hotel window I am ever likely to see. Staff very helpful as was driver of free shuttle to town. On last day took just us to car hire venue in town.
Couldn't use balcony due to midges but just part of being in Canada, I guess.
The room was clean and quite big. Very helpful personnel. A very pleasant stay.
Beautiful, classic downtown hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet!
everything is great
Stayed in a deluxe king suite. Very good sized suite on 10th floor with views over the City, bath with shower over and robes in the wardrobe. Very comfortable king size bed and one of two good quality 32" TVs. Lounge area with double sofa and second 32” TV. Kitchen area with fridge and microwave. Found all the staff exceptional, very friendly and helpful. Smart restaurant and bar, lovely complimentary buffet breakfast. Free, good quality Wi-Fi and use of a smart computer room with printer if required. The courtesy shuttle was very welcome - a luxury car with smartly dressed and helpful drivers. When the shuttle was not available a taxi arrived within minutes. The roof terrace had lovely views across the Ctiy and a hot tub. The best part has to be the fantastic indoor heated pool. This was an exception whereby the actual pool was better than the photographs on the website! A good size for swimming, approx 16m x 5m and 1m deep to 1.7m. Not chilly but just the right temperature for a swim. Grandly and tastefully decorated with masses of space around it with loungers and a jacuzzi. Dedicated pool changing rooms were exceptional with sauna, bench, lockers, hair drier, spin drier and immaculate showers with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Would definitely stay here again.
There was nothing we did not like.
front desk was excellent
a little shabby in parts
room was nice had jacuzzi room very nice view from roof and room was great
should not have to pay for parking when i,m paying 300 or more a night for room, also get rid of inner walls and make bathrooms bigger, to small
Lives up to its name as being a very grand hotel
The location in an area with a above average number of vagrants in a former red light district
-) Very friendly and helpful staff -) Excellent room facilities (microwave, large fridge, bathtub)
-) Breakfast is ok but not exceptional (always the same food every day, no chance of change if you stay longer than 1-2 nights; fruit is fresh but other food is not that great) -) Location is not central as many other hotels in downtown Toronto with a similar price (you have to walk 10-15 minutes to reach the central area)
Loved the French Onion soup for lunch. Lovely rooms, lobby and dining area. This is a beautiful boutique hotel.
The location... it made me a little nervous to walk around the area at night.
