Cheap, good location, comfortable bed, microwave, fridge, and air conditioning
The room was very dirty, with stained cups, utensils, and plates. The shower had very little water pressure, and it ran out of hot water at one point.
It was nice to be able to park the car and walk to most places we wanted to see in downtown Montreal. Staff was friendly.
Room was not clean and not in a good shape overall. After deciding there's no point in trying to find another hotel we started to clean the room ourselves, not the way I imagined I'll spend my vacation. And couldn't quite shake the icky feeling for the duration of the stay.
-Great location: very close to night life and great restaurants -Friendly and very helpful staff -Room was large and clean (we had our own washroom) -Room had a balcony with an awesome view of the city -Free and safe parking -When going back to Montreal I will visit this hotel again.
For the most part I was very happy with everything. The only thing I would suggest is that if you are a lazy person or have issues with your legs then try to get a room on one of the lower levels. I didn't mind the walk up to the top floor.
Smell of cigarette smoke all over the place even in the rooms which made it stuffy. Noise at mid night that seem like a quarrel that I could not sleep. Dirty refrigerator. Incomplete and poor quality toiletries. Very dirty floor; Broken door lock, the hotel needs renovation.
Smelled smokey, scary place, not a real hotel. Shady looking people live there. super run down, disgusting to stay there! Shouldn't be listed for rent!
Price, location, free parking
Noisy bed, needs paint job & a few touch up's
The hotel was in a good location
We had to park behind the hotel and it was confusing to get there. There was graffiti and it was a scary place to park. My teenagers tweeted that we were in the ghetto.
Location only thing that was any good
decor, poor locking door put chair under handle at night, broken stuff (cups etc), dirty, things not working, no smoke alarms, bathroom-you could sit on the loo dangle your feet in the bath and wash your hands in the sink at the same time, cigarette burns in sheets, blocked in when parked everything. Worst place ever stayed.
Good location for Jazz festival
good location, free parking for the car.
Bad cleaning, looks like it never been cleaned under the bed, found really weird stuff under there and the general smell not a place you want to bring a child in.
The location is perfect because everything you could possibly want is within 2 blocks or more. A Pharmacy, supermarket, cafes, restaurants etc.. The Montreal Jazz Fest is steps away! For the money I will come back here always.
Not as clean as one would like, and it seems at times some unsavory characters do show up on the premises. However, Ms Wong the owner keeps a close eye out all the time. And she is wonderful.
Location was perfect and place is pet friendly! Air conditioning was a plus and it was fairly quiet.
The kitchenette hadn't been cleaned. Used pots and pans with food on them were still on the stove. There was no toilet paper in the room at all. There was a literal inch thick layer of dust on the clock on the wall. Other than towels and linens I don't think the place had been cleaned in a very long long time.
The location was great, walking distance to Old Montreal, Chinatown, the center of the city. Lots of restaurants nearby. Room was spacious.
Questionable characters inside the building, walking around at 3 a.m.
Cheap, decent location
Beds, noise in the area and in the hotel
The price and location was awsome !!! The rooms are okay you cant expect it to be super and new the. Building is super old...we have been there twice will probably go back
The only this i did not like is its noisy....
Location is good Boss is very good Rooms clean and tidy i like it very much
The host was very helpful and the location was good.
The hotel is very old and the room is definitely not well kept. Everything was dirty and the beds made a lot of noise. At 5a.M., there were a lot of people upstairs shouting and moving furniture, it was impossible to sleep. The parking lot had so much snow our car stuck and we had to pay for a tow truck. Do not stay in this hotel.
Random loud people in the hall ways. People knocking on our door. Was a scary place to stay for two females and a young child.
Price, location and cleaner beside the tub so we could wash it before bathing.
#1 - The sheets were horrid, thin and insufficient. We have never been #in a such filthy room. We simmered oranges in an attempt to improve the #smell of the room. 2 - They offer a front door key but all night they #were buzzing people in. All night! 3 - The two employees we encountered #seem nice but they did not leave us feeling safe.
The staff were very friendly, the parking was great; the location was fine; the bedroom was perfectly comfortable; the bathroom was outstanding.
The room had a bit of a stale smokiness to it, so we needed to leave the windows open.
Proximity to downtown
Wi-fi was practically non-existent, mentioned a few times to staff, but they kept coming up with excuses why it was so poor. I paid for a room with wi-fi because I need wi-fi, not because it may be a bonus.
Excellent location. Convenient services. Free parking. Authentic old fashioned 'charm'. Window air conditioner (only one room) worked, but a bit noisy.
Smell of tobacco in stairwell kitchen & bathroom was disgusting. Cleaning equipment & supplies left out in hall at unit. No central air conditioning. Bathroom very small. Shower curtain in poor condition.
The two people (owner and one helper) who run the place are very nice and helpful. The location is great, very close to the festivals of Montreal in summer. The kitchenette was handy because I stayed for a couple of days, so I could cook a bit. The room was quite big, always nice for a hotel in a big city.
The place could do with a thorough spring cleaning. There was quite a bit of noise, both from the street (Sherbrooke street is a main artery in the city for ambulances and firetrucks) and from young fellow guests staying at the hotel and making a racket at night.
