I loved Ucluelet a whole lot more than Tofino, it isn't as touristy and "plastic", like the difference between Banff and Jasper, I always prefer the place closer to nature. Maybe doesn't have all the sandy beaches, but one can easily drive to it. I'd love it if the information about the length of the walks to beaches etc. were more clear, even on the hike, like where we are now and how long to go etc. Beauty in abundance, I loved every minute of it, I remembered it from 10 years ago and it was even better now. I'd love to come back for more and be able to just sit and listen to the ocean. Please, please don't let it become Tofino where you can't enjoy what rightfully belongs to the public without paying more than you can afford! I love Ucluelet! <3

Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year.
Ukee is great place to visit any time of the year. The beaches are more rugged than Tofino which makes for dramatic storm watching on windy days. There are some good restaurants and a grocery store, liquor store etc. If you're looking for raging night life, this is not the place. If you're into being outside, it's great. There are tons of trails, beaches and lookouts to explore.

Loved the proximity to the ocean.
Loved the proximity to the ocean. Great hiking trails in the area and quite a few good restaurants. Enjoyed the low key, unpretentious vibe. We aren’t surfers but it looks like a fantastic place to surf.

Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit.
Black Rock Resort was an amazing boutique hotel to visit. Their restaurant was so good I ate there 3 times!
Drift Spa at the resort swept me away with four hours of endless Thalassotherapy. They use the cleanest, best skincare on the planet, Seaflora Skincare. Loved my treatments and left stocked up on Seaflora.
Pluvio Restaurant was an experience of its own. We spent 3.5hrs slow food feasting. Peach salmon, hum dogs, pork belly and so many tasty artistic plates that gave us food babies! The chef is truly an artist the way he presents his flavour creations. At one point he gave us these deep fried tomato slice shaped pastry with salmon roe and a creamy sauce… perfect sweet n savory we talked about it for hours!
Pacific Trail was nice, South Beach, Wyat Point… it was all a really nice experience. Heartwood Cafe traditional Benny used real pea meal bacon, which no one out west seems to know about - but that’s how u make a real eggs Benny. Ukee has it all.

Ucluelet is a fantastic little village next to the ocean with great hiking or running paths and beautiful views that you will not see elsewhere. It is not overly commercial and the people are extremely friendly. It is a wonderful place to decompress and get some fresh air.
What a fantastic place to spend your staycation in beautiful lilttle Ucluelet. We were travelling with our family and the place and the host exceeded our expectation by all means.
- Great host, will go extra mile to accommodate your request
- Clean & working BBQ machine in family suites
- Fully stocked kitchen
- Nice patio over-looking the mountain and the inlet (you can't ask for a better view)
- Best value for the $ spend in Tofino area (Long-Beach is 20 mins drive, chesterman 25)
We had a really great time in Ucluelet and in this guest house! The outdoor area was beautiful designed and very well maintained! It‘s a very quiet location. Our apartment was very clean too and there was everything we needed for our stay! You have the chance to see some wildlife as well :)! Highlights were the sauna as well as the welcome package with water and some sweets and some hiking maps.
We will come back! Thanks for a great time.
Really, we loved everything but what is most impressive is that the sheer amount of thought and care that has obviously gone into the whole place. it’s obvious that the owners have put A LOT of time in to consider how to make a better hotel. it’s not overly “fancy” or “gimmicky” - just delightful, high quality, stylish and welcoming. Oh and the owners were super friendly and accommodating.
We stayed in the "honeymoon suite" which has a great view of the harbor behind. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with wine watching the boats and sailplanes coming and going. The hotel has a lot of Asian sculpture and artworks displayed around the property, gives it a very cool vibe. Easy walking to one of the best fish and chips places you'll ever find, Jiggers. We'll be back.
The room was the right size for two adults and our dog, The staff truly understand customer service and were more that wonderful accommodating any requests we had re restaurants on site or in the main village. We will definitely return for another storm watching session not to mention the magical rain forrest that surrounds the Black Rock Resort.
the cabins were very neat, well equipped and cozy. a real relaxing experience. Recommend. the self check in and self check out was an easy process and, although the staff is not on site they respond promptly if contacted by email or the booking app. we had an issue with electricity and they solved it promptly within 45 minutes.
Ucluelet was beautiful! The room was very nice with a good assortment of cozy and useful furniture and lighting. Good decor. Shower was excellent. The view from the room was quite lovely, looking up at the nearby mountains! Honestly a more comfortable and cozy room than most hotels I've stayed in.
The place has a spacious kitchen with everything that you might need for cooking. Lots of puzzles, activities available in the shared lobby space. Volunteers and other guests were lovely and the accommodation felt safe despite being a popular, high-traffic hostel.
We had a very nice stay at Sounds of the Sea. Our room was is a great location - a private neighborhood of Ucluelet with a short walking distance to the beach. Molly and CJ were friendly, and we enjoyed meeting their family.
Everything about the stay was excellent, Nancy and Fabian are gracious and kind hosts, the breakfasts are 5 star and the accommodations are very comfortable. Fabulous on all measures. The views are postcard worthy!
Great views from the room, such a warm hospitality. The room is big, beautiful design and very comfortable. Dian helped us to plan our visit in Ucluelet and around and that made our days unforgettable.
It came with a friendly cat and was pet friendly. I asked for a simple breaky but what was delivered would have cost 25 dollars in a restaurant. I wish i was rich enuf to live there all summer/
Very clean room and bathroom, very friendly staff, great location and view, very comfortable beds, good price, best shower ever in a hotel, TV, fridge and coffee maker.
It is located in a very quiet area of Ucluelet, surrounded by water. On a sunny day, you'll have an amazing view on the harbor and can hear sea lions barking.
