Chris Location Friendly efficient staff.
The layout - living, dining, bathroom, separate bedroom, plus sofabed. Great value! Central location. We were able to walk to good quality restaurants and The Royal B.C. Museum.
Lack of soundproofing. We could actually hear conversation from the room next door - and loud banging of the door.
Bed and pillows were good. The chairs were comfortable; good lighting. The curtains kept out the light. The kitchen was well equipped and functional.
TV was too small and picture was fuzzy. Bathroom too small for a family.
the bed was firm
the noise was shrugged off when mentioned.
A comfortable place to stay without all the extraneous facilities one rarely uses. A perfect location for walks (in Beacon Hill Park) and dining places.
Nothing, except they forgot to make-up our room on one day.
We arrived late and were welcomed by the very helpful night manager. The person on the desk when we checked out was equally good. The King suite was very nicely appointed and equipped. The wifi is the best hotel wifi we've encountered. It is so reasonably priced for what you get.
Lack of elevators might be a problem for some.
Great location - close to everything Victoria has to offer. Great staff - friendly, very professional.
Excellent location to park, downtown etc. Good size room with nice kitchen area and separate bedroom. Updated older hotel. For price very good. Friendly front staff.
Wifi has a poor connection
Over the years i always stay here its best location walking distance to everything, prices are reasonable, room is clean bed very comfortable
The hotel was very clean and staff were great. Only draw back I have is we were on side of hotel that was next to busy road and it can get quite noisy in the morning.
Great location, excellent price, huge rooms, very clean, housekeeping staff did a great job!
Having to walk through an alley and up the unlit stairs at the back of the hotel when arriving after 11pm - particularly when there is a safer sidewalk access. "By law it has to be locked"...?
1. Location is convenient for downtown Victoria and/or waterfront 2. Good quality of worktop and kitchen fittings within the room
Despite its name the Helm Inn has no dining room or bar. If you want food or drink that you don't buy and prepare yourself then you must go outside the bounds of the hotel. There are places not far away but it does mean the hotel is a bit soulless.
I wasn't expecting the kitchenette, or the quaintness of the place. We absolutely loved it.
The bathroom was very small, and quite difficult to maneuver around each other, as we were getting ready for our event. But otherwise, the place was wonderful, and we would definitely stay there again!
The location is great, right next to the museum and a 5 min walk from the middle of downtown. The rooms are updated and ours was huge! The kitchenettes are cute and we were surprised to see more kitchen supplies than we expected.
Our room was right on the main road on the second floor and traffic noise was loud in the morning. I luckily had earplugs but for those I'd recommend asking for a quieter room. Our bathroom wasn't updated and although clean and perfectly functional, it's about time for that floor and countertop to be replaced.
I liked the way the bedroom was seperate, king size, also liked the size of the room.
I did not like the first floor. It was too noisy. We could hear footsteps and movement. Floors are weakily insulated and same with the walls. The heater took forever to turn on. It looked better on pictures. My experience here I wouldn't want to stay here again.
Walking distance to theatre and to dinner. Large room with king bed. Complementary coffee.
Water temperature changed during shower from warm to hot to cold. Room key trouble.
The location for the price was excellent.
The second floor would have been better as the footsteps could easily be heard above us.
This was my second stay at this hotel. The rooms are modern and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was new and very nice. The room was spotlessly clean. The location to everything is excellent. Just a short walk to the harbour front. This has to be the best value in the city.
Lots of space and conveniences. Close to inner harbour, museum, government house and downtown.
"Song bird" pedestrian crossing signal outside
I liked the kitchen, use of the utensils, the very comfortable bed. Having two televisions. The suite was spacious for one person. Good service. I prefered the evening receptionist. In short I was pleased with my stay.
I would have preferred a twelve pm c/o
The Helm's Inn is so conveniently located in the heart of Victoria. There are a variety of very beautiful places to sightsee, walk , eat
You need to request a room off the street as the buses are loud until later at night and early morning
Simple surroundings but great value. Although we did not need it for only one night very well equipped kitchen. Separate bedding area is very comfortable. Great value.
Near the bus terminal, convenient
