The staff was exceptional! I have never experienced better service than we received from the staff at L'Hermitage.Their professionalism and care is extraordinary.
This is not a huge deal, but I don't prefer low floors.
I've stayed before and had a great experience. This is why I returned. The quality of the rooms and attention to detail brought me back.
It took 3 hours from the time I reported smelling cigarette smoke in my bathroom for staff to move me. As I was only staying one night this was stressful. I wandered the neighbourhood waiting for the problem to be resolved, only to return and discover my bathroom still smelled like cigarettes but had also been doused in chemical cleaners. Anyone with allergies will appreciate why this would be an issue. Conversations about the problem with me were very unsatisfactory. As a guest I don't care to speculate for 3 hours as to why the smell is there, or where it is coming from, or - if it is even real. What I disliked the least was the implication that because this 'never happens' or the hotel is smoke free, that somehow it wasn't happening. To be clear, I was not smelling a stale residual odour, rather a chronic source of smell was emanating into the toilet room from somewhere else. While I was eventually moved, the handling of the situation was not appropriate and I won't be staying again. Other concerns are chronic noise from construction across the street.
Located right in central Vancouver. Easy to walk to wonderful restaurants. They upgraded us to a Queen suite that was just amazing. Full kitchen with deluxe appliances, nice granite bar and all the utensils. We enjoyed cocktails before heading out for dinner each evening with friends. Turn down service with nice chocolates. No city noise. Nespresso in room coffee maker.
Construction going on across the street BUT IT DID NOT IMPACT US AT ALL. SO, just mentioning that we did see it, but no problems what so ever. . .
The room was spacious, the bathroom large and modern. Facilities and location excellent.
Staff was excellent...the location was very good...the rooms were roomy & comfortable!
Major construction outside our window was not a plus!
Room size and quality. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff.
The hotel was lovely, great location and the staff couldn't be more helpful
The location was perfect especially for the cruise terminal . We were sailing to following day to Alaska. The staff could not do enough for you. Raymond was exceptionally helpful with his knowledge of places to eat and things to do. I would like toreturn one day and stay for longer .
It is very stylish and the staff were excellent.
There was not even a small desk to work at in our room.
stayed in this hotel for 9 nights everything about it was superb the staff are lovely the rooms excellent and so clean. the hotel is near to everything we had a great holiday thanks l, hermitage
The hotel has the most helpful staff I have encountered in a long time. Nothing was too much trouble for them
What a lovely hotel! We stayed for 4 nights as the first stop on our cross-Canada trip. We couldn't have asked for a better start - the staff were so friendly (they gave us restaurant recommendations and travel advice), the rooms are comfortable and quiet (very important after a long-haul flight!) and the pool and jacuzzi are a real bonus. What's not to love?!
Large one-bedroom apartment Location Washer/Dryer in Room Very accommodating staff
Staff was exceedingly helpful and attentive. Room was amazing.
Good sized bed, spacious room and beautiful bathroom. Very attentive, friendly and helpful staff.
We thought the price of breakfast was a bit expensive.
Everything, Staff from front door to the turn down all helpful and friendly. Comfortable well appointed room.
Nothing not to like
Well appointed light spacious rooms with everything supplied. Staff were really helpful and the concierge wonderful in helping us priorities what was possible in our three days
Construction over the road caused a lot of noise however they didn't start till 7.30 am which was fine
Poor Breakfast Fixtures Falling Apart Cramped Space
The welcome when we arrived. The private lounge to relax in whilst our room was prepared. Your General Manager's personal attendance to our concern about air conditioning noise (unfounded as it turned out). The fully equipped kitchen - a kettle, as well as a coffee machine, a rare luxury in Canadian hotel suites!
There was some traffic noise, particularly on the Saturday night - lots of loud exhaust noises. There was also some sort of a party being held in a suite in the same corridor as us, although this did end quite early in the evening. Housekeeping was generally good, and the staff very helpful, but tea and coffee supplies were not always replenished unless requested.
Friendliness of staff, especially Albert, the porter.
Breakfast too expensive. We ate elsewhere.
We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was really nice and spacious and airy. It was very quiet despite being on a pretty busy street. The breakfast buffet was also pretty good.
Unfortunately their restaurant has closed, meaning you have to eat out but, more importantly, no room service. Also the mini-bar was empty.
The staff is very professionnal and always wanting to please you. They offered us an upgraded suite for our wedding anniversary. We have travelled around the world, and this is one of the best hotels we have encountered.
The Vancouver rain, but that is not the Hotel's fault and they supply umbrellas. !
The staff was as good as it gets! The hotel was top draw and that comes from a couple that has extensively traveled the world.
We have just returned from a week at this tremendous hotel. Although it is very well located and incredibly comfortable, perhaps its greatest asset is its staff members who were all unfailingly helpful and courteous. Many reviewers have sung the praises of Raymond Wong, Chef Concierge, and we are no exception. He conveys a genuine love of Vancouver and clearly relishes providing a superb service to guests. A really top hotel in a great city and a pleasure to stay there.
Accommodation was a lovely suite very well equipped. Staff were exceptionally helpful and even handed out brollies for us to use as it was raining when we arrived.
We requested quiet room not overlooking the main road in front of the hotel but that was exactly where we ended up where they were doing construction work. We were kept awake until 2am by the arrival and set up of a huge crane although work should have ceased around 5pm. There had also been an accident on the building site that day so it was a bit of a shock that they tried to make time up during the night. There are no bar facilities to speak of although there is a lounge with limited bar service until 10pm. However the night we went to use it it had closed by 9.50pm. I would stay here again if in Vancouver but would prefer a hotel with better facilities. Rooms were unavailable until 4pm which was disappointing and later than most we have stayed in.
