Location for public transit interesting
Loud guests in sleeping areas hall ways and stairs respect should be shared by all coming an going at different times dormitory is for sleep not party or loud guests...they should gather in designated areas
Quality good for price, nothing fancy. Just rite if ur just passing through.
No accommodations for parking. Had to pay additional money to park overnight at Holiday Inn parking garage on next block.
location very central, beds comfortable, staff very accommodating, breakfast included (though not the healthiest- (bagels//muffins/bread/sugar cereal - some fruit)
roadwork noise all night over the weekend made it hard to sleep, though thats hardly the hostels fault!
Breakfast was surprisingly good. Room and ensuite were clean but could be updated. General toilet & shower facilities were excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Lack of kitchen & cooking facilities. Considering the number of guests there was a severe lack of dining space & furniture - more than 10 people and one had to stand to eat. In the TV room and lounge area the furniture was a disgrace - dirty, shabby & torn - other guests commented that they would not sit there.Should be refurbished with easy clean materials.
Was too loud at night. Room was cramped.
Helpful staff and location.
Ambiance was awful, looking into slums, in need of an update. The Super 8 is a much better deal @ $85 and they have a free airport shuttle.
Property is old, in poor repair, Corridor and bathrooms smell terrible, common rooms are very small and dark - The place is a dump but it has a great location and the price is right for downtown Vancouver.
Location Price Friendly staff and good service Lockers for (valuable) stuff For a hostel, the washrooms were very clean
Wifi unstable Construction sounds Locked out of my room, because battery of door died...
The girl working at reception in the evening was very helpful and friendly. She gave me some good advice about where to eat. She should be congratulated, just the kind of reception you need when you arrive in a strange new city. Room was basic but clean and tidy.
All only minor issues but if they could be improved it would make the place much better. Street noise was loud as I needed to the keep window open to keep the room cool. Wifi in room was poor. Mattress had seen better days.Kitchen seemed on the small side for the size of the hostel and seating space was limited.
The front desks are helpful and nice.
Didn't know that they will charge an extra 10% fee for people without membership, except for the tax. the price displayed on the website is not the final price before tax. The bedding and dormitory are smelly. Worry about the health.
staffnis great, friendly and cool!!!
great staff; good breakfast
a bit expensive
The washrooms were clean and wifi good on lower floors
No basic kitchen facility to cook in.
Dorms fine. Good breakfast.
Bathrooms OK depending when you used them. Wi Fi bit useless. No coverage in rooms and drops off early. Staff could give more info at check in.
- The location is superb. Many attractions are within a walking distance. - Friendly staff! They are willing to help you about everything. - I paid more for a private room ( I traveled with luggages) which is the right decision. The room is comfortable with a reasonable price.
- It was loud sometimes. - The odor of the carpet was not nice
It is good for college students and single people not good for couples or families
They don't clean your room everyday unless u specify and it is bunk bed for sleeping not comfortable at all
Lowest price. Good accessibility to public transport vehicles, airport, and attractions.
Sometimes, Wi-Fi doesn't work. It is very good in the lobby level, but cannot be used in the room.
There is very basic breakfast which is ok, but people have to sit on the floor because there are tables for about 5 people. The hostel is noisy and dirty. There are problems with very basic stuff like... opening windows from time to time, the floors smell like old shoes.
Staff help a lot about to tell directions to go in the city. Breakfast was very good.
Room (211-4) for 4 persons is very small and the space is not use properly, ex. to block the space for a wardrobe by a bed where you can hang towel, t-shirt, luggage on the space of the floor . Should not only mention that it is a «kitchen express» but mention that there is no stove neither oven ... so you will not buy a pizza to cook in the oven before going in this HI. May be ask to a Hi-user and designer to have a look at the rooms and space.
Location. Hostel is in a great place on Granville. Staff does a great job both day and night. Overall good stay. I would stay there again. Clean, quiet and felt secure.
The location was good. It was within walking distance of bars, restaurants, parks, and the train station. The staff was hit or miss. Some staff members were much friendlier than others.
Please be careful when booking through booking.com. Booking.com does not make it clear that the price they are quoting you is the "member price" and if you are not a hi member, you will have to pay an extra 10% when you arrive at the hostel. This hostel was already expensive and with the extra 10% added at check in, it ended up being expensive and not worth the money. Check-in time is listed as 12:00. After traveling for many hours, we arrived at 12:30 and were told that we could not check in until 2:30. The next morning we got to breakfast about a half hour after it had started and they were already out of many of the items. The eating area is too small to accommodate everyone at breakfast time. Our room was filled with hair from the person before us. Honestly, this hostel is fine but the price does not reflect that. In the end, we could have stayed at a hotel for the same price and had a much nicer experience.
good value for money, everyone laid back and relaxed big room and bathroom close to lots of things to do - watch Anglea Dawson directing the traffic on rollerblades !
Nothing consdidering the room rate
Cost of the room and the fact that they had a room available at the last minute. Location was a factor because other rooms in the area were $250 a night and higher. We lost our cruise at the last minute, so we were lucky to get this.
The hostel is very good. There is a good location and in general is clean, despite the carpet be a little old. For sure I would stay there again.
The carpet is old.
