Great staff, friendly and helpful.

Poor WiFi coverage.

It is actually a ranch! Great environment, great mountains view, pitch black perfect for stars observation. Great staff, very friendly, nice home-made food.

In winter they don't have too much 'ranch activity' which is understandable. More signals in the road to get to the ranch would be highly appreciated.

Fabulous staff, and the best view in the Rockys! It was comfortable from the time we arrived until we took our last walk. A great no-frills getaway. The staff was super friendly.

Some may be disappointed in how dated the place is - it's solid 80's through and through, but that was a bonus for us.

I grew up on a cattle ranch in Alberta. When I walk into the lodge for me it was like walking into the past circa 1970. It was vast and open yet warm. Lots of books, a telescope to view the distance peaks, tables if you choose to paint or do other crafts. A fireplace surrounded by comfortable chairs if you chose to sit and talk or read. The rooms were rustic looking with wood panelling, a wooden lamp and table. The beds creaked beyond believe but they were so comfortable I never woke once during the night. The drive in is a view that many people have never witnessed. It is one of the most scenic panoramas in all of Alberta. The view of the Rockies from the balconies of the lodge is unbelieveable. You can get up have a coffee while viewing the rockies from a chair that is provided outside your room. I have crossed the creek into the ranch before once when it was flowing. As there is no bridge it adds to the adventure in getting there. Half the fun is getting there. I should add that the crossing is completey safe and is paved even for low clearance sports cars. At night there is no road noise or for that matter any unpleasant noises because of the remote location. It was deafly quiet. There was only am radio which once again reintroduced us to some classic old songs and memories such as Glen Cambells Gentle on my Mind. No Television what a great way to motivate people to do other things which there are many to do at the bcr. I was thinking of giving a bad review to keep the hoardes of people away but I cant. The bcr is a great place to stay.

Location was just perfect, a real taste of the Canadian wilderness. Staff were really friendly and facilities avaliable were great. A great base for those into hiking and horse riding. We would definatley stay longer next time.

The people, the setting, relaxation, food.

The Black Cat is a family owned and operated facility with a welcoming, very relaxe and friendly atmosphered. It's like visiting a family farm with great hospitality.

The facilities are showing their age and could use some sprucing up.

Staff friendly, beautiful location, great horse back ride

Worn out rooms and facilities, stuffy (no air movement) in room and in lodge, extreme need of remodel, food expensive for the money, gang of worker kids took over lodge seating in morning leaving no room for guests, water went out last morning we were there with no notice to guests and then power was to be turned off for 6 hours...at that point we checked out 2 days early....

The staff was extremely nice and tried to ensure our needs were dealt with. The common breakfasts and home cooked dinners allowed us to mingle and get to know other guests.

The ranch lost its water supply (it is on a well) during the night and in the morning loast it's electric supply which we were told was a routine hydro maintance. It is too bad this was not posted on their web site.

The ranch vibe, scenic view from pretty much every window. Close enough to all kinds of tourism options, very amenable staff who bend over backwards to make you happy.

Wifi really only operable in the main lodge common room. Their antenna wasn't placed centrally so it couldn't really be accessed from the wing we stayed in. Cel coverage was very spotty, but then again, we didn't come there for the technology - rather the opposite.

The staff were so nice and incredibly helpful. The view of the mountains was spectacular and thetrails around the area were well marked and kept clear of debris, overgrowth and tree falls. They have great trail rides for those who want to experience soemthing a little more country. Food was amazing! Classic country home cooking and the best cookies i've ever had. Allowed to bring your own alchohol drink prtty much anywhere in the ranch house.

Comercial matresses are a little hard, but the staff will provide foam toppers upon request. Don't plan to stick to a diet while you're here unless you bring your own pre-prepared food. Not licensed to sell alchohol, will have to bring your own.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had not booked dinner as 24 hours notice was required but they were very willing to give us dinner when we arrived.

The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.

The trail ride and guide was very excellent. The view was beautiful and the shower were great.

The cost of the food was over priced, considering the quality. We were charged $24 dollars per meal, per person. That really high especially when my two children hardly ate anything. There was a teen camp also staying there and the teens attending the camp smoked and swore in front of the building. This was very distasteful as we had our nine year old with us. We didn't feel comfortable spending any time in the main lodge as the teenagers were always there. A couple of boys were making very disparaging remarks regarding their creed. They joked about being native in front of the guests during breakfast. We originally went to the Black Cat almost 20 years ago, and very little has changed in the way of upgrades. The rooms and building were very out of date. The bedding was dirty. I hate to say, we will never go to the Black Cat again, unless there are renovations.

The pictures representing the facility was a joke. This place hasn't been remolded since the 60's; outside acess to room was plywood, carpets were ancient, bedspread in room was ripped ans faded. Lighting in room was very poor, hard to read by. We had to share our "family dining room"with 30 or so young adults who were there to do chores in exchange for dining and leisure time in the facility that was described as a leisure room complete with piano, gasmes, etc. Well, that piano was plunked upon during th eday by the grandchildren of one of the employees, hardly condusive for leisurely reading. Just realized that I wrote in the wrong space. I have nothing good to say about the facility, except Perry, th eman whom we talked with , was very nice and knowledgeable about the area.. 111

The hosts were very nice and helpful. The food tasted great. The setting was pretty.

The meals were overpriced and the same rate was charged for children and adults. The place was not well kept - lawn not cut, porches dirty and not well maintained, cluttered. Food was supposed to be kept for us on first night but very little pasta remained. Rooms very outdated with threadbare blankets and noisy from all surrounding rooms and people walking by.

A little bit of the beaten track, but a really beautiful location with lovely rooms in a wonderful park. Every morning a good start with a beautiful breakfast.

I loved that it was surrounded by mountains. The lodge was comfortable and had a very inviting atmosphere. If you are a horse person or an outdoor person you will have found what you are looking for in a getaway.

The rooms are very clean, but dated.

Meals are very overpriced compared to the quality.

Der Ausblick auf die Berge und die Pferde war nicht zu toppen, ausserdem die angenehme relaxte Atmosphäre. Das ist auf jeden Fall etwas für Naturliebhaber, Hunde sind auch da, mit denen man "gassi" gehen kann. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und gut.

Anfahrt bei Nacht ist nicht zu empfehlen, das findet man nicht ohne Navi..... Das Abendessen mit 27,00 Dollar fanden wir etwas heftig..., da haben wir mehr erwartet.

Sehr renovierungsbedürftig

Niets. Voor mensen die graag langer de bergen in willen, wandelend of te paard vinden hier best mogelijkheden. Zeker een mooie omgeving.

De accomodatie doet denken aan een jeugdsoos uit de jaren 60 en dan een waaraan sindsdien niets meer is onderhouden. Onze kamer was oud en versleten, bij het openen van de deur vielen de motten dood op de grond. Sanitair was vuil. Het bed was oud, waarbij mijn vrouw (normaal gewicht van 75kg) de hele nacht is geplaagd door de veren die net niet zelfstandig uit het matras staken. Gezien de afgelegenheid hebben we er 's-avonds gegeten. Zeer eenvoudig en zonder drankjes voor 40 dollar. Voor die prijs mocht je zelf je bord voorspoelen en opstapelen. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding was slecht.

Non è un hotel e quindi chi si aspetta servizi da Hotel potrebbe rimanere deluso. Una leggera ristrutturazione gioverebbe sicuramente alla struttura e quindi al confort dei clienti
