price was excellent, staff friendly and helpful
no way to adjust the heat
Friendly staff. Comfortable place to stay overnight.
Terrible smell in the room - musty. Free breakfasts didn't work out because restaurant was closed both mornings because of Christmas. Therefore, I think the room price should be less.
First room the people before us were smoking. The front desk showed us a room next door which was acceptable to us no smell of smoke!
noisy..close to highway,no aircon too hot inside
The manger was very accommodating and responded quickly to inquiries.
The advisor did not specify that the hotel was adjacent to a major road where there was constant traffic.
very noisy neighbors one night that could have been quieted down
View, kitchenette facilities, friendliness of owner.
Weather was very hot, air conditioning would have been nice. Situated on trans Canada highway so traffic is noisy, but slows down at night, so is tolerable.
Staff very friendly and helpful. It was convenient to what we were doing
Overall for the price it was a fine. I don't know if I would stay again.
The host, who greeted us warmly and made a point of recommending some restaurants for dinner. He also provided us with vouchers for breakfast which we had not expected. I would recommend with warning re the highway.
Noisy, right beside the Trans Canada highway. Very noisy with windows open, much better when closed. Windows are at least double glazed and looked new. Rather overpriced for an older motel.
A modest facility but for the traveler great value. And a nice breakfast too!
Friendly and clean
Noisy, on main Hwy
Once inside the room, and with earplugs in, we found things dated but clean, with a brand new fridge and stove.
The location is terrible, right on top of Highway 1, the busiest, noisiest road corridor on the Island. Also, it took me half an hour to book in. The guy at reception deserves a Darwin Prize, completely unable to keep track of reservations. He disappears to take another person to look at a room, leaving me hanging around. He consistently confuses my name with another female booking. It is the slowest check-in process I have ever been through on ANY continent, and that includes Papua New Guinea.
The deck, the price ad location. I prefer a Motor Inn to hotel anyday.
I couldn't sleep
Power in town was shut off at 9 am
It is located right on the hwy. very noisy traffic
There were two sliders so we each had our own... :)
No coffee in the room and the fridge b was unplugged
view fridge balcony for smoking
bathroom had a bad smell from cooking in downstairs unit..also fixtures are old..headboard was just a piece chipboard..only 1 pillow each bed had a downward slope to the head..no tea in room only coffee staff was friendly but not efficient (room 115 )
Very reasonable rate. Great location. Close to park, beach and downtown. Great view.
The beautiful view and comfy bed
A little cold when we were there.
Beds where comfortable Staff were friendly
Traffic was unbearable
I anticipated a not very nice place for the price. However I was quit shocked with how acceptable it was. Clean, spacious and very nice.
I booked a single queen bed, I was given two doubles. .. which we made work. The highway is quit loud during the night but nothing a fan couldnt drown out :). I would have appreciated a pouch of coffee per day, not one per the whole weekend... but timmies was nice and close. The staff were hardly around, however they were very kind, courteous and welcoming. So despite the negatives. Id stay here again !!
The staff! The staff is absolutely amazing and do anything to make one's stay more enjoyable. Location is convenient; WIFI works flawlessly and FAST! Nice water view from the room.
The motel is located close to the Island Highway, but the doors and windows do keep most of the noise out. Not really a problem as I intend to return here ;-)
Place was very clean when I arrived - hosts were very friendly.
Heat is controlled, not in the room, but somewhere else. As it was late winter/early spring - didn't need a/c. Some nights it was hot in there - other evenings I wore my jacket. As the door wasn't sealed very well - there was quite a draft in there. My room was only cleaned once in a 6 day stay. No towel changes during whole stay.
That it right in Ladysmith close to family
The noise and the banner on the railing kept us awake all night. Very noisey
