Out of every hotel in the area, I give this one 5 stars. I had no problems and wouldn't have even if I looked for one.
Service and Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean
Hotel rooms need to be updated. Rooms are 'tired/worn' looking.
The room was exactly as we requested. The staff person on reception desk was very friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and resulted in a great night's sleep.
The manager on duty at time of our arrival continually interrupted and contradicted the staff person on reception which resulted in the fact she the manager was unable to provide answers to our questions. Our questions were regarding visitor/tourist information which the staff person attempted to provide but the manager seemed to be misinformed to the point of being misleading.

Most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! Staff in Restaurant were a pleasure. (Food good,not great)

Front Desk - signing in was easy and the young lad at the front desk was first-class Restaurant - Adrienne is one of best serving (service) people in the industry. Wish all my staff had her enthusiasm
- heated btahroom floors - whirlpool - pools - location (close to highway) - HOUSEKEEPING services are very good. The Housekeepers are very friendly unlike the front desk except for Savanna who smiles alot.
- no exhaust - not so friendly staff both on front desk (except Savanna) and in the restaurant - a/c is too loud - dirty carpet in the room - i waited too long to get towels in the front desk -
Television didn't work properly upon arrival. It was too late to complain , but we mentioned it the next day. We were told that they would send someone up. When we came back to the room. Nothing had changed. We mentioned to the front desk again. They said they would send someone to take care of it, no one came. There was a major accident on the 400 and it was closed for hours so we couldn't go anywhere. Thinking that we could just relax and watch a movie. But the tv still was sketchy and the video on demand didn't work. Neither was the pay per view movie working either. When my daughter went down to the front desk (13yrs) and demanded it be fixed they sent the maintenance guy. Nice guy, he seemed to have more professionalism and business sense than anyone else there. Said he had been up to put room but did the best he could. My complaint is that the staff knew that we weren't getting what we paid for. The attitude about the tv was that they were changing from an analogue to digital and oh well. I would have liked to have seen a discount as reflection of this on our bill. Even my 13 year old grabbed the bill from under the door and was amazed that they didn't discount any amount. Funny a 13 year old could see that this would have been good customer service. She wanted me to go and complain and demand a discount but I explained that the expectation is that they should take care of us and see that they should act proactively to keep business. I could not be bothered and just wanted to leave. I won't be going back I would have gone back even though there were issues. Had they adjusted the bill to reflect the experience we had, it would have shown that they were interested in making an impression and that they had the capability to resolve any bigger issues. There are enough hotels in the area to not have to go back there. We need to go stay at a hotel often enough as do many parents picking up their kids from the base
Although I was gone from noon to 2:30PM and from 4:00 till*:30 my bed was not made and my room was not done on Tuesday.

The section of the hotel we were in must have been last updated in the 1970s. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Room smelled musty and damp. Even though it was the 1st of June, no attempt had been made to clean and open the outdoor pool; thus making it a dirty eyesore in early pool season.
The vending machine is all the way back to the lobby area.
Location was convenient.
Room was freezing cold all night. Not the cleanest. Bed was hard and lumpy.

No "smoking rooms" on ground floor, but could smoke on patio under other rooms. Smoking room on 3rd floor but no smoking on balcony (no rooms above) Butts from previous tenant on balcony, ashes on lamp base in room
I liked that we were treated fairly, and the room was nice
found it expensive for what we received, and found that we had to walk a long way to get to the elevator to take us to our floor. (only one elevator to get to the floor we were on)

found the staff moral way down this time around. Seemed like they were there cause they had to be. Not cause they wanted to be. When I was there before staff were friendly out going lalways had smiles on there faces. I can say this time I didnt c that at all.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They made the difference in making sure our next stay in Barrie will be with Holiday Inn. Thanks to everybody for making us feel so welcome.

the beds were marvellous and the bathroom floor was heated.
Parking became an issue - snow clearing was very poor. Also, the heating unit in our room was fairly noisy and I am a light sleeper.
The lnn and the front desk were excellent. I was not satisfied with the booking by booking .com . First l had to call because it wouldn't give me the right rate. I had the get one of your operators to correct it. When I got to the Hotel my room and my sister in-law's room where on two different floors. The hotel gave me breakfast coupon for the hotels. Which was nice, they shouldn't of had to do this. If I had of known the availability iwould of tryed another hotel.
