Close to mall & sky train
Room was small, Internet very slow, & couldn't close secondary curtains so was up right at sunrise! For the first time of uing the Hot water in shower it took time warming up, then it got too hot while my youngest daughter was showering. Towels were rough!
Location is great, only a block away from skytrain and shopping mall.
It was nice and quiet once the air conditioner was shut off.The room was clean and smelled fairly fresh. It was centrally located for our purpose as it was all around Burnaby. It was good being close to a mall for shopping. In this condition I couldn't recommend this to someone else.Once these problems are addressed it will be a big improvement
The air conditioner was noisy when your trying to sleep. The elevator was ridiculous having to wait almost 8 minutes from the time you pressed the button. Then it would stop on every floor when there was nobody there. The first breakfast was good but the second was terrible. No muffins, no greek yogurt,no eggs and when I asked they brought out some half cooked ones.[scrambled].The meat patties were something my dog wouldn't eat and last we had no coffee. I'm sorry if this sounds nasty, but I just related exactly the way it was..... I also usually get a corporate rate as I own my own business but this time nothing. $321 for two night stay was a little steep I think.
during a construction period of time your holiday inn's should allow a discount for putting up with the construction noise and dust etc.. you cannot expect prices being the same during a construction period. and you MUST tell all bookings priod to the booking.. and not to just list it on the bottom of the WEB site !! we were dissapointed with this
I have stayed here before. The location is excellent. Right by metrotown mall and the skytrain. The parking is free which really is a plus. There is still some construction going on outside the hotel, although i think it will be finnished soon and it wasn't as bad as last year. I was put in one of the newly refurbished rooms which seem less tired than the old ones. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms new or old are well cleaned. I enjoyed my stay.
The wifi really was patchy. Maybe they could look at upgrading the wifi or internet connectivity after they finnish refurbishing the rooms.
location,cleanliness & staff
breakfast(cardboard plates, plastic knives), poor food selection. No bar/restaurant.
location is great
room is small. Also, you may easily press the wrong button when you are watching TV, and then you end up paying 16.99 more
Fresh bagels in the included breakfast
The location was good with shopping mall, restaurants, transportation nearby.
The kitchen staff was rude. The hotel staff in general weren't very friendly.
Everthing except the wifi
The wifi is not steady
It was right next to the Metrotown shopping centre. Noise was from nearby Skytrain was inaudible. The free morning breakfast was ample and varied.
The hotel was undergoing renovations. There were major leaks from the parking lot ceiling into the parking lot, combined with the concrete dust generated by renovation, the pools of concrete slurry could be hazardous to shoes. The parking lot was not secure and I saw unsavory characters there, despite the occassional security patrol The beds were very old, and when I plopped down into them I felt as if I fell into a crater, my girlfiend, who is very slight had the same experience. The staff did not seem knowlegable. I had made two separate reservations for Wednesday and Thursday; and Friday and Saturday. I explained this to the clerk on check-in and asked if I would then to change room; he checked and said no. On Thursday night, I went to the front desk and asked a different clerk what do they showed my checking out and she said Friday. I went through the entire explanatory process again. I checked out a day early and when I asked for a receipt, I was told I get my receipt from Booking.com. I asked again and was given the same reply. That has never happened to me before; I have also been given a receipt. Perhaps, I get the room for free or perhaps there will be charges I am not aware of. Though nicely located for shopping, I will pay more to stay elsewhere.
buffet breakfast, excellent
heater is too noisy
close to the malls
over christmas there was no house keeping
Friendly staff & good location
Breakfast was same for all days. I was there for 9 days but all days they had same menu and no change
price was good.
Bedding a bit worn out. Renovations made conference centre insufficient. Unable to access car easily due to rennovations.
Being so close to the sky train & metrotownn mall
They neglected to mention that there was major construction happening on either side of the building and that construction sounds travel throughout the hotel. Also, the cost for the hotel stay was very high considering the age & state of the hotel.
Complementary breakfast were good.
More security in the under ground parking area.
Loved the outdoor pool, rooms were large and comfortable. Easy access to Metrotown Mall and skytrain.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and I liked being close to skytrain. Room was comfortable.
I thought the price was high.
Location is very strategic, staff very friendly and helpful. Room amenities all good.
We stayed for 10 days, the breakfast menu need more variations.
I think the hotel is located to amnities like the mall and the skytrain. The room was well mainained. Having a microwave oven in the room was useful.
The breakfast menu was the same for the 8 days that I stayed there. Was very boring. The hair dryer in the room was not working.
Location was excellent as it was besides the metro station with direct access to central Vancouver. Choice of breakfast items were good with hot items changing regularly. Pool was a nice temperature and gym was well equiped. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good value as car parking is free and plentiful and cheaper than many downtown hotels.
The ongoing building work meant that access to the metro station could only be reached via the busy bus station next door but I realise this will be a problem only until the works finish.
Nice rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, good location
Would not give me reward points for bookling thru Booking.com
Good breakfast. Convenient location. Most staff very friendly. Very clean.
Desk staff on check in was rude. We arrived from prince Rupert to take my son to residence at bcit on the Friday. Bcit informed us past students check in fri and new on sat. We brought Joey to hotel and explained that he was only staying the one night. We were not offered a cot but we were told he wouldn't be permitted to have the breakfast in a rather snide way. It was not our intention to have Joey with us but you can be sure we did not ask for any extra pillows or anything, and Joey - he slept on the floor with the bedding we bought for residence.
