Reception just helpful and smiling, room clean and safe, nice basement bar, great breakfast, great location, I had a nice stay there, thx :-)
The room is warm and the staff are frendly. The bed is comfortable.
The water for shower is not quite hot.
Location Breakfast Friendly staff Wifi connection
Bed - matress Lamp - didn't work at all
Location was good. Close to St. Laurance Market <3 Close to downtown if you dont mind walking for 15 mins Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Not much. Maybe the wifi is a bit slow
I like the little light near by the bed , you can read in the night and without bother the other people Good location that I didn't buy any subway pass
Kitchen time is from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm , sometimes I came back late I can't cook anymore
The food and service in Cavern is fantastic. Location excellent - 10 minute walk from Dundas square and subway. Nice and quiet neighbourhood.
Upon arrival there were mentally ill people wandering inside, they don't really have any form of security granted. Rooms weren't cleaned daily - staff only took out the trash. Bed sheets were a bit shabby. WIFI signal tends to get weak occassionally. For any extras you ask on reception - they either don't have it or you have to pay for it. Bad experience comparing to European hostels.
Noisy and poor wifi
Good location. Great breakfast.
Little loud outside at night. Loud heating.
the person who was in charge of giving breakfast was very rude
Staff were wonderful and very helpful. Loved their cooking especially the free morning breakfasts!! They are the best!
Couldn't open the room windows to allow fresh air in. The air in the room of 6people sharing became rather stale.from time to time.
free wifi, nicest staff, cozy lounge
good value, clean room with all we needed. Laundry facilities. Great little bar/ restaurant where I felt very comfortable even though I'm in my 50s. Staff were always cheerful and helpful.
Not quite in the middle of town but pretty close.
Staff and atmosphere were great. Private room felt more like a hotel than a hostel.
Program and breakfast and lobby
Noisy and terrible wifi in my room
Almost everythin is good. They even added a breakfast, which is nice :)
Weak wifi in some rooms (good only in common area). If you wanna get prices which are shown on booking, you should have membership of HiHostel (YHA)
too noisy, i could not get sleep until 2AM.
cute desk girl
the desk girl harassed me because I was from Toronto...
The heated room, amazing free breakfast and fun soap dispensers in the showers.
Good location, two blocks away from subway station. The kitchen was nice and you can have coffee and tea for free.
There is a bar in the basement where nightly entertainment held. I can hear the music in my room until 1am which was a little annoying, but it wasn't unbearable.
comfort, price, breakfast included
I was given a bed in a mixed dormitory when I got there even though I had reserved a bed in all-female dormitory. I complained to the male staff member who told me I had two options, take the bed or take a refund and go somewhere else. The second option wouldn't have been an issue if it wasn't 11:30 p.m. He didn't seem to care that I was uncomfortable with the sleeping arrangements with six guys in a 10 bed dorm and just told me they were all booked and so was the other 24-hour hostel in Toronto. I wasn't impressed. Hi-hostel, please give priority to the reservations that were made in advance and not give up those to people that are physically checking in before me, especially when I had made a special request two weeks before. The second staff member I got the next day was nice enough to accommodate me and moved me to an all female dorm. I slept for most of the day as I hadn't been able to sleep the night before in the other dorm. Your staff needs to be aware that some woman may have a very valid reason for declining mixed rooms: cultural reasons, anxiety because they have been victims of some type of abuse from a male or maybe they want to be able to change their clothes freely in the room with no males looking. Something to keep in perspective.
Location, nearby affordable parking, Tim Horton's locations nearby, Sunday service at St James Episcopal, nearness to St Lawrence market and financial market
Kids far too steeped in electronics , poor eye contact, ignorant of world without detached, irrelevant capsule info only. Inability to awaken a guest so not to oversleep breakfast.
The breakfast, the staff
the windows: it was a bit too cold for us
I was pleasantly surprised. The bed was fine, breakfast was quite good, and staff was very helpful. And the location is excellent!. No complaints at all.
The best thing was bed. So confortable and breakfast was also nice and location was not bad. All staff was so kind. When I visit Toronto next time, I wanna stay there again!!
Great atmosphere. Awesome free breakfast. Good location. Great events on each day/night.
Not enough plugs in rooms and limited space. Bathrooms could be a little cleaner. Building could do with a bit of a revamp.
