The staff are helpful & the hostel is easy to get to from both bus & train stations.
cooked breakfast wasn't available on the morning I stayed which was disappointing but things don't always go according to plan.
downtown location, friendly staff, good breakfast
Location in the downtown, so that I could reach easily many points of interest/bars/restaurants. Staff greeting and availibility. Free coffee all day ! Bar "The Cavern" in the basement of the hostel, which regularly proposes music.
I stayed in a noisy dorm not because of the other travelers in my room but because of the location on the street side. Bad quality of Wi-fi.
The location was perfect. Near to everything!
The cleanness was so poor! I spent 7 days and they never ever cleaned the entire room.
toilet without air ventilation
i liked everything. It's the best hostel for low income earners
Great location Nice staff Nice breakfast, I like the set with baked beans, toast, bacons n egg.
I want hot water for shower!!! But the water was not hot enough. Poor WiFi, I couldnt access to the Internet well even in the common area, not to say in the room. A bit noisy at night. The kitchen closes after 9 pm.
Definitely gonna stay here next time in Toronto!! The first hostel that have a private bathroom in room! Perfect breakfast! And perfect staffs! Highly recommend Hi-Toronto!!!
Just there are too many people having breakfast, you might have to wait for a while. And the basin is in the room, outside the bathroom, people who wanna get up early might cause some noise. But it's all OK.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a lot of tips and information. Cleaning was performed regurarly in the communal areas and in the dorms. Good breakfast (several options), and located near the city centre. Bar downstairs is nice. You can book trips in the hostel.
Do not book a room on the second floor. Noise from the bar downstairs and WIFI did not work.
HOstel is made to meet people. Loads of activities and excelent facilities. Friendly staff. Location is perfect. Restaurant + pub under the hostel (don t worry, no noise at all in the rooms and I was sleeping early!)
Room was not ready until 3 o'clock. Not a big thing but after a long trip was not the news I wanted to hear. The prices shown in the website are for people who are Hi Members. Even though it comes described in the details, should be more highlighted.
I see you should not expect luxury and comfort in an hostel but.... wifi doesn't work; hairdryer doesn't work; double rooms are super-super-small (please bring only an hand-luggage or ask your husband to leave the room if you want to open your normal luggage); and if you are not a member of the hostel organisation you pay a lot more which is not worthy for such a place.
Good place near Eaton Senter and Dundas station, comfortable beds with clean environment and warm decorating.
Location is good, drug store nearby, walking distance to Toronto Coach Terminal, Staffs are friendly.
Electric points seem not enough. I have to take turn to charge my device.
Everything is good. Staffs is very helpful. Also breakfast is very satisfied
clean, comfortable, breakfast included
no parking on premise, bad internet connection
good wifi,free breakfast
small room, smell bad,not suitable for a good rest
Love the young and secure atmosphere, I traveled by myself and everyone was so welcoming. The day and night activities one can sign up for are a great way to make new friends!
There was only wifi connection in the common area
Cleanliness, location, meal included in price, friendly staff and atmosphere.
no parking. Stayed on the night they were having Kareoke night, and sound traveled really well up to the room - needless to say no much sleep.
Amazingly comfortable mattresses Free cooked breakfast Good air conditioner/heater in rooms Giant lockers for storage of bags before/after check-in
Wifi is awful and doesn't work at all on some floors No social atmosphere Really nice kitchen with good amenities (although I didn't know I was there until the last day) Average bathrooms on some floors, but nice on others
At first I was hesitant...10 people room sounded chaotic, but everyone was very respectful, quiet and helpful. I never felt uncomfortable. Staff was very polite and fun. I also couldn't believe that breakfast was included for free and was in fact tasty. Wifi was great and they provide a nice lobby and patio where you can sit and work all day if you so desire. Looking forward to go to visit the rest of their facilities around the world!
Near the Princess of wales theater close to St Mike Catholic Church walking was nice and easy great breakfast , friendly service clean towels and sheets very nice roommates helpful clerks
Rainy last day .
The breakfasts, comfort of beds and location of hostel - also, friendly staff !
The room we were in had 6 beds, so 6 people sleeping in there, but the windows in the room did not open at all (the glass is fixed in place - is this legal ?) so the room was very stuffy even with the air conditioning on. I remember finding the same thing when I stayed in a different room here 7 years earlier. The ensuite bathroom facilities were also not good - the toilet and shower cubicle had no hand-washbasin inside it and no extractor fan, so all smells went straight into the bedroom. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and HI-Toronto needs some investment to improve the points mentioned (including opening windows).
Housekeeping staff on our floor were visible: Cleaning bathrooms, sweeping rooms and corridors and keeping public areas neat. Breakfast choices are varied, from vegan to carnivores, from coffee, tea and milk and fresh sliced fruit. Noise is kept to a low decibel despite the young crowd!
Signage for the hostel was invisible for first-time residents. We had a difficult time find it on foot from the bus terminal.
Everything was great! Location, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast, comfy beds...I even managed to sing a couple of songs during the karaoke night! Also, at the hostel you canget good deals for Niagara Falls and Eastern Canada tours.
Internet could be faster.
The Cavern pub with live music each night is wonderful
Wifi did not work properly at 4th floor
