The bus stop right outside the door. Waterfront nearby (over busy highway though!) Free internet The heating in the rooms wasnt working at all. It was 2-4 degrees and snowing. Wind whistled in through the old, cold radiator cabinet and dirty, drafty window. I stayed from Friday to Monday and asked many times for the heating to be fixed. The receptionist confirmed that the heating system to all rooms was not working and he was trying but unable get it going. After 2 nights fully clothed and unable to sleep, I felt dreadful and was given a blanket and a tiny electric heater. The electricity kept tripping out. Staff showed neighbouring guests how to reset the trip switch at the fuse box! It tripped 10 times or more on Saturday night. The card readers had to be returned to reception to be reset several times. This was the most uncomfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. I was told that the manager doesnt work weekends, so spoke to him on Monday. He totally denied that there had been any problems. said I was the only guest to complain (although I heard many people complaining and several left to find another hotel). The manager (Eugene Arulnesarajah) did not apologise. He was insulting. Accusing me of lying. I even had to argue to get my cash deposit back. He denied that I paid cash but eventually gave in and paid me! No courtesy or manners here. Unbelievable behaviour! I felt cheated out of sleep and money and then furious that I was treated so badly by this manager. Truly a terrible experience!

The manager was very accommodating. We complained that we had been placed in a smoking room when we had requested non smoking. He fixed things right away. Parking is quite a long walk away.

Location to the Direct Energy Centre. MacDonalds next door and convenience store across the street. Tram stops outside hotel doors. The rooms are misrepresented on the photos on the website. I got smoking room and booked non smoking. In order to get a non smoking room I had to pay $20 more per night. The staircase stank of urine. My room wasn't cleaned properly and when I complained, it still wasn't done. Small room with small bed for double. No tp or tissues for 2 days. No coffee replaced and no washcloths for 6 nights.

Breakfast was good There is uncomfortbl small in rooms. Cleaning service include only arrange bed and switch towels. Car parking is far from hotel. Regular room is very small enough only one person. For us we don like this hotel. Warning fall into the trap of low price for this hotel.

Well, with the bad reviews, I expected much less. We got a clean room, an upgrade even...everything was well within expectations for a standard motel with basic amenities. The location was almost perfect for a budget hotel, with a McDonald's, Convenience Store, Breakfast Restaurant X2 and a deli ad pharmacy. Right on the trolly route and quick to downtown. Breakfast was standard continental, with toast, bagels, bananas, juice, coffee cereal and waffles. Everything was clean and efficient. The only issues we had were guests that were a it noisy (barking dogs). Otherwise this was an excellent stay at a value hotel. I look forward to using the facility in the future. That breakfast ended promptly at 10 am. Otherwise the experience was good. We had a problem with the card readers (they kept resetting), but I believe that was a security issue because we had three+ cards to use.

1. Location - on a nice ethnic street, close to parks and lakeshore. 2. Good public transportation. 3. Not too expensive. 1. Free breakfast could be better - how about boiled eggs and fresh fruit to make it more balanced and healthier ?! 2. The safes in the room do not work - a biggish minus if you have cash, passports and valuables with you.

Just about the best value hotel we could find on line. Accommodation in Toronto very expensive. Easily accessible by very frequent tta street car from downtown, details readily available from front desk prior to arrival. (Tram route # 504). Airport easily reached by tta tram, train and bus, $2 each for seniors. Breakfast one of the best. Staff helpful. Size of room.

No hot water. Could not change the time on the alarm clock which was 2 hours ahead of the time. Tv was very fuzzy and only a few channels would come in. Smallest room ever., Parking was 2 blocks away then they wanted you to walk back to the hotel and charge you 12.00 for parking. Would never stay again or recomend them to anyone

Nothing, just leaving the hotel. We recommand to AVOID this place. First of all - calling this hotel "lake shore" is hardly the truth. you might get to the lake shore if you cross the highway, and it takes about 10 minutes, at least. Not to mention, you CAN NOT even see the lake or the shore from the hotel. Second, the trams crossing right beside the hotel and there is a parking lot of trams at the back side. Third, the parking arrangment is in a big residential building and it is 3 blocks away (about 5-10 minutes walking), and they charge 12$ per day (including the tax), while there is a public parking closer that costs about half. The place needs a serious renovation, and it has no elevator. The service is awful - we booked for 2 nights and after seeing the place we asked to leave after the first night (just because we arrived late) and they wouldn`t refund the second night, and the manager practically shouted at us.

The electricity regularly went off leaving me dangerously standing in the shower in the dark. The covers of the bed had a cigarette burn in it. Quite noisy due to thin window glass.
