- Two separate bedrooms - Fairly clean - Great garden at a door step - Quiet rooms (perhaps because the dorm was empty) - Close to a shopping mall and not too far from downtown Toronto (by car of course)
- Kitchenware is nonexistent. There are no kettle, utensils, etc. We had to boil water in a tiny microwave oven, which took forever. There is a full kitchen on site, but it is only available to students - Beds are noisy ;) - Stench in the rooms. - Shower curtain is a joke - No WiFi - Ethernet cable only. Not a big deal - we brought our own WiFi router with us.
Price was very reasonable. I only wanted a place to sleep while visiting Canada's Wonderland. Dorm room was clean. It was very quiet when I arrived.
I set my alarm for 8:30 and at 7:00am there was all sorts of noise in the hallway as they were apparently getting the dorm ready for returning students. Doors were opening and slamming shut and it was extremely noisy. Apparently was in the flight path of the Toronto Airport and the planes sounded like they were directly above the building.
Poor signal on my cell and no wireless internet
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Two bedroom, private bath and little kitchen are all you need and so much better than a hotel room. Grounds are beautiful so you can get out and go for walks. TV lounge and exercise room are nice to get out of your room. Gym equipment is top notch.
Rooms are not as clean as hotels. Sound of someone in above floor shower sounds like they are in your shower, very noisy but closed bathroom door and that solved.
I was visiting family and just needed a place to sleep. Humber met my basic needs and the price was very reasonable. Free parking was a plus. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable for me - some might like a softer mattress. The room was quiet. Of course that was mid-August and there were very few people around. I have my doubts about how quiet it would be during the school term. The lack of WiFi was a bit surprising but I had seen the note on the site about needing a cable and came prepared.
The bed had only one small pillow. I am a slide sleeper and a couple of pillows or thicker pillow would have made it more comfortable. The shared, mixed gender washroom facilities might not appeal to all but privacy was not an issue. The shower stalls have solid doors. Cleanliness could have been better. A cleaner was coming out of the washroom as I entered but there was a shampoo container and a bar of soap on the floor of one of the shower stalls.
need to instasll wifi big plus
Loved the arboretum just a few steps away.
These are actually the dormitories of the Humber College offered for travellers when they are not occupied. The rooms were clean and spacious, ours was in fact two rooms connected with a hall including a fridge & kitchen area. Our rooms were with a view of the arboretum and it was nice to watch deers in the backyard.
The rooms were somewhat cold and you could not start A/C (probably due to central heating & Canadians do not think that it is cold, but it was for us).
Free parking. Close to major highways. Rooms were fairly clean and housekeeping was ok. &Quot;Washrooms" were kept clean. Water pressure was awesome! !.Hot water for days!!!
Can get a bit noisy when planes are taking off from nearby Pearson airport. Front desk did not have maps of toronto.
The price. The free parking. The surrounding gardens. The laundry and vending machines all worked.
Had to buy an ethernet cable because there was no Wi-Fi (but it was only $5 so I can't really complain).
I loved how hospitable the staff was and the comfort of being in the school was great.
WIFI access for travelers should be a must. Thats the only downside to this trip I didn't like.
1) The have a good house keeping service. 2) Comfortable room and bed. 3) You can take a walk at The Arboretum ! A beautiful park inside the Humber Campus ! 4) It's quite and cosy !
1) No internet (cable and wifi). It is only for students, although when I made my reservation, It was said that there was internet available. 2) The shared bathroom is not so clean. (most of the students are young, so ... you know). 3) You can use the kitchen, but there is no stove, no dishes, no cutlery, no pots for cooking). Only a refrigerator and a micro wave. 4) Very far from the city. You will take about one hour and a half to go to downtown (bus + subway). 5) Too isolated. Few options of groceries stores and supermarkets.
Only vending machines selling chips and candy nearby - no healthy snacks or food for children is available after the cafeteria is closed, and both stores and restaurants are a good distance away from the campus.
If you need to stay in Toronto for many days this is a fair solution
Too much noise during the night. Many students walking near the rooms and talking too loud also at midnight without any respect from the others hosts . No control about this from part of the College.
- price - free parking - quiet place - worth the money
- no wi-fi - althought it says it is apartment, no kettle to boil water for coffee
Co-ed public bathrooms... not ideal but manageable Also no mirror in bedrooms
The staff was always available and very helpful, especially Audrey. The accommodations were spacious and I liked having use of a fridge and microwave. Excellent price and value for the money!
It was our first time in Toronto. It would have been nice to be closer to the city, as we had to drive and park at the end of the subway line to get a train into the city. Also, the beds were pretty hard, even though they tried to alleviate this problem with pillow tops. The residence rooms are very basic, but if you brought your own pillows/ bedding that would be helpful. If you were going for an extended stay, that might be a good idea.
There is an excellent park next to the building.
There was a constant noise of air vendilation system. I could have slept at the first night but I got used it second night.
The front desk staff was very nice and helpful.
I didnt like the fact that housekeeping left the bathroom dirtier that they found it.
The common room was very clean and comfortable.
AC didn't work properly. My room was like a sauna.
Rooms were very nice
Would have liked tissues in the room, and wi-fi
The staff...and it is a quiet place..no disturbance
It's a College Dorm. It's good for what it is, especially at the price. But you can't (or shouldn't) judge it as a regular Hotel or Motel. If you do, you will be disappointed - I was quite happy. Staff were pleasant and helpful, going above and beyond!
Keeping in mind my comments above, nothing.
very polite staff
