Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes.
Baddeck is a jewel on the B.D. Lakes. It is very scenic with lovely tourist shops and cafes. The scenery is amazing and the salt water lake offers recreational opportunities. Don't miss the nightly ceilidh, and especially on Thursday evenings. There are lots of great places to eat or drink local beverages.

A very pretty town in itself and the perfect jumping off for the famed Cabot Trail. There are some nice restaurants including the Freight Shed which sits right on the dock which has Muskoka chairs where one can sit and take in the view of the lighthouse.

We spent a lot more time in the Bell's museum because it was above and beyond our expectation.
The museum guided tours are a must-do!
It runs only twice a day (morning and afternoon, but different tour subjects), so make sure to make it.
Our guid was just fantastic!.
We wish our kids were with us for this.
All in all we spent half a day at the museum.

Small town with many restaurants, boutiques, cafes as well as basic amenities such as a pharmacy and grocery store. Wonderful walks along the shore of the Bras D’Or lakes as well as the pier and through town. There are also cultural events such as the music concert we attended and a drama group that puts on plays. The Alexander Bell museum is worth a visit as well.

Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit.
Everyone should visit the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit. We learned so much about him and his wife and their impact on science and aviation and so much more!! Needs to be taught in school
Good restaurants from Toms Pizza to the Cable Room five star dining.
Has a neat waterfront boardwalk. A private mega yacht The Mary A was there WOW.
We stayed in one of the cabins, which was great for self catering. Well equipped. Nice large room with fantastic view over the sea. Great seating area at the front and back of the property and only a short walk down to the swimming pool and restaurant. We had just one meal in the restaurant, which was excellent both in terms of its quality and presentation. It’s a very short drive to the centre of Baddeck and a co-op supermarket. Great location for access to the Cabot trail and Sydney.
Great location if you want to explore the Cabot Trail, also not too far of a drive to Louisbourg Fortress. The Inn is also central in Baddeck, walking distance to many restaurants and the waterfront. A block away was an excellent bakery, called High Wheeler Cafe. we also enjoyed dinner and breakfast right at the Lynwood Inn restaurant, good food and friendly staff.
The room was very clean, and housekeeping came every day while we were out.
Dunlop Inn is located on the outskirts of Baddeck but still in close proximity to town centre. This Victorian era house is right on the water unlike centrally located Telegraph House Hotel which is part of the group.
Our room was spacious beds comfortable and breakfast perfect
The owners live in the property in low season and thus this explains the very homely atmosphere
It is a perfect stopover on Cabot Trail
Hunter’s Mountain Chalets is our “go to” when visiting Cape Breton and exploring the Cabot Trail.
We’ve stayed twice and both times we’re very enjoyable.
A great location and starting point for the Cabot Trail. The chalets are clean, quiet and comfortable; pet friendly with beautiful walking trails right on the property, a huge bonus!
We will definitely stay again and again :)
Super comfortable bed, soft but not too soft, slept like a baby. The view of the ocean is beautiful! Sat in the window and watched the waves, very relaxing. Very clean, large room. Vince was helpful in trying to give me ideas on what to do as all of the trails were closed because of the fires in Nova Scotia. Really enjoyed the openness of the room.
The a location - town and site - is wonderful. Baddeck is a charming town on Cape Breton's eastern shore. Auberge Gisele's Inn is located is on a hill overllooking the water and an old church so it has beautiful views. The restaurant is quite good. A smaller gazebo offers a pleasant place for families to picnic.
Telegraph House Motel was in a great location! Restaurant on site was delicious. Building was quaint and reflective of a beautiful Baddeck home. Staff were very pleasant. Great patio space out front and on the second level. Large public bathroom on our floor which came in handy.
The location of this motel is great, on the water, with great views. While the property is a bit worn, the rooms are priced accordingly and the space was comfortable. Staff was friendly and generous with information about the area, including eating spots in nearby Baddeck.
Breakfast was fantastic. Nice to have our own little deck provided with comfortable muskoka chairs. Great location. Nice and quiet. Close to town of Baddeck and to the Cabot Trail. Great tasting chicken served in the restaurant along with fries etc.
Excellent place to stay and great value. Lovely older house and wonderful hosts. Very comfortable accommodations in a pretty location, not far from Baddeck. The breakfast in the morning was tasty and filling. Very happy we stayed there!
I liked that it was old and had a little of charm. I’ve never stayed in a hotel like this before and I wasn’t disappointed!! It had a lot of charm. The room was small and the floor a bit slanted but it only added to the experience!
The hotel and the property are beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate, and the linens, and towels were high quality and nice and soft. From our cabin we had a great view of the lake.
The hosts were great. They accommodated our early breakfast request. They were very friendly and we enjoyed talking to them. This is a gem in a Baddeck. We will go there again and tell family and friends.
Excellent location in walking distance to almost everything in Baddeck. Also very clean and comfy. The restaurant that is on the hotel premises was highly appreciated with great food and service.
The property is convenient to Baddeck and area. It is a quiet spot and the owners are very helpful. This property does not incl. food, but has a full kitchen. A good size deck and BBQ.
