airplane noise from the marina.
The location was nice in that it was within a reasonable walking distance of downtown and all the shops and restaurants, as well as Fisherman's Wharf. The room was nice, on the ground level, and came equipped with dog bowls and bed for our family pet. The room had a micro-fridg, a small coffee maker and hot water pot.
We were forewarned that there would be extra charges for the pet and the car parking - but they all tend to add up. We were also charged for in-room wi-fi because we didn't make our booking through the hotel. At the price we ultimately paid, complimentary breakfasts would have been very nice. Although the room was nice and comfortable, it wasn't anything exceptional. Basically, if it weren't for needing a hotel that would accept a pet, we saw other places near the Inn at Laurel Point that would have been just as nice - and ultimately less expensive.
Beautiful views of the harbor. Staff very friendly and attentive. Comfortable bed and room. Food and service in the restaurant fantastic.
Distance from downtown. Need a pull out mirror attached to wall in bathroom!!! Very difficult to lean over counter to apply makeup!!! Chair in room showed ALOT of wear with torn and worn leather on both arms.
1) Convenience: near sights, using the harbour pathway from the Inn takes about as long to walk to the ferry dock as it does to drive to it--5 minutes or less, on-site restaurant, gorgeous harbour views (The outer harbour view from the fourth floor room was so pretty at night...we didn't miss the inner harbour views as much as we thought we would) comfort 2) Cordiality: friendliness and knowledge of staff 3) Comfort: great beds, fluffy pillows 4) Christmas spirit--I@LP is host to the Gingerbread House display--fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity; beautiful Christmas trees & decor inside and out; and the lovely Christmas stocking hung on our door filled with oranges, delicious gingerbread cookies by the ILP Pastry Chef April Iverson & her team (Yummmm!!), and a special light-up keepsake ornament--a delightful and unexpected Christmas treat from the ILP Managing Director and GM, Ian Powell and the Laurel Point Family.
In room 444, the heat often fluctuated widely on its own. One moment it was roasting, then suddenly quite chilled, then back again. We gave up trying to keep it at a consistent temp. Gated parking is quite expensive but seems to be the going rate.
Location and the décor for Christmas. The Gingerbread house competition and the way it was displayed was incredible! A wonderful added festivity for the holidays.
Great view great room great stsff
peter at arua restaurant
fitness center was small
The appointment of the studio room and the view were lovely. Also really loved the art collection in the hallway, the gingerbread house competition and that you allow pets.
Loved sitting in the restaurant enjoying a glass of wine, an appie, and the view of the harbour with the sea planes coming and going. Overall we had a lovely stay.
We are BC residents and have stayed at this hotel many times. We love the location on the Inner Harbour in Victoria and always find the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable.
We felt that the facilities were slipping and corners were being cut. We were disappointed to know that we had to pay $10 extra for wifi in our room. We were given very few toileteries and only one bath robe. There was no container in the bathroom to put toothbrushes etc. It just felt a little cheap.
View of harbour was amazing. Right on the boardwalk to harbour.
Parking was poor. Charge $18 per day for parking? Restraunt was over priced.
Certainly the location and view are top notch. Guests can walk downtown along a lovely walkway.
Rooms are small, toilets old and noisy. The bath and shower were also dated; actually having a bath was like a sparrow fluffing in a puddle - too shallow and short. The mini kitchen was sub standard. There was no sink or basic utensils (spoons, forks) plastic or otherwise. We left for another hotel after a single night.
This was a great place to stay with young kids. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They had a fun scavenger hunt that the kids loved, and they got to pick a prize out of a big treasure chest at the end.
A form of continental breakfast would be nice.
Loved the view
Found the bathroom to be dirty: Bathmat dirty, long black hairs in the shower stall on the back wall and a toilet that wasn't properly flushed
The bed was awesome! The room was clean. Great view.
the carpet had rather a lot of stains and looked in need of more than a little TLC
Position, convenience, staff, comfort. Poor breakfast if you want healthy meals. Virtually no fruit or other diet conscious/healthy options.
Whoever installed the curtain rails in our room, (a corner one with small balcony) obviously did not check how they drew! The harbour view is wonderful but it is also very well lit. The curtains do not meet in the middle and they are set away from the wall. This means that at night the room is full of light, not conducive to us to sleep !
Loved the harbour view, the comfortable bed, and the overall cleanliness and friendly staff.
Would have liked a hot tub in the pool area.
The location and view.
A dirty glass found in the room on arrival. very slow breakfast service of granola and fruit. Pillows too fat. Diferred maintenance evident in a number of places. Fitness room is small with 2nd tier equipment. Charge for internet in the room.
Front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the location was amazing even though a little off of downtown
I loved the restaurant!! Fabulous dinner and breakfast.
The room was modern and clean with a great view! Aura restaurant is delicious!
Would love the gym to be a little bigger
breakfast - no normal breakfast choice on the menu for us ordinary folks!
the entire staff was out standing..very pleasant. we will be back many times
View from window of harbour at Victoria was good and location for the centre of Victoria. Breakfast was good although this was not included in the room price. Would have like to have stayed longer to appreciate all the facilities at the hotel.
Balcony window very difficult to open. The basin in the bathroom was cracked. Not what I would expect from this high class hotel. That was disappointing. Looked as though it had been done some time so they should have fixed this. Someone had fiddled with the safe and we could not use it. but not critical as we were only there for a night.
