Lovely to walk into, very accommodating, in all areas. Stayed our first and last night, on our arrival to Calgary, just what we needed, Though the side the building faced the traffic was a little noisy, but certainly didn't keep me awake.
constant elevator noise ( although not too loud, it was noticeable )
Lots of space.
The sheets smelled a little like bleach so I used my own sheets and pillow cases.
noise from elevator on top floors
LOcation and room size
room was next to elevator
I liked the location of this hotel as it was walking distance to the Telus Convention Center where I was attending a seminar. The breakfast that was included was good.
I did not like the elevator situation. Two of three elevators were operational but very slow, and sometimes being used by staff so did not respond to calls for service. I had some very long wait times for elevator service.
Convenient for business, great rooms and comfortable beds.
Restaurant servers could be more engaging e.g. explanation of morning buffet.
Staff were great on check-in. Facilities and amenities were very nice. Location was very good.
Elevators were deplorable. There was nearly always a LINE to go up. Going down the wait was long and the car would frequently be full upon arrival so one had to wait for the next car.
lift issues-also ordered a breakfast pack for early departure bus trip which was not delivered to room as promised
The parking is tight and due to lack of supervision our vehicle had it's hood damaged.
I like the convinent location, good quality of breakfast, and stuffs can answer my questions property.
Free breakfast Free wifi Clean Helpful staff
A little dated in areas but I think in the process of refurb
The location, size of room plus kitchen amenities. Breakfast was very good.
The elevators.Slow,slow. Wait, wait.
Service was good. Gave us a freeroom upgrade for free. Not sure why, but took it. Location is great. Close to eau claire market and dining
The room is awesome ,spacious , 2 TV in the room is really entertaining. The Air Conditioning is perfect for summer weather in Calgary , the room is nice & cool The bed is super comfortable , you'll fell a sleep right away :) The price include breakfast & free WiFi is really accommodating The breakfast menu is really variety , they got every thing & taste super delicious
When I check in , I told the front desk it's for my honeymoon , as I'm getting marry on the next day. The front desk guy said the hotel will give wine or complimentary basket for us. Until we check out there's no complementary basket or so call ever. When I check out , I told the front desk lady , and she said well if you didn't get it you should have called front desk. And we'll give it to you right away. And I was saying to my self what kind a service is that , if you say you're going to do it , so do it , if not don't tell you're going to do it!! Once the lady at the front desk see I look unhappy , she grab a dinner voucher & gave it to me. So we have to look unhappy first then they give you the service! And there's no bathrobe in the hotel room , I'm getting marry so I'm doing the make up & hair in the hotel room, & I need a bathrobe for that But there's no bathrobe in the hotel room. I called the front desk & she said the ran out of the bathrobe , what kind a hotel that doesn't provide bathrobe? If I know the hotel doesn't provide bathrobe , I would have bring my own. The front desk said we will try to look it for me , & until the make up & the hair done no more information from the front desk Really unhappy with the service!!!! The hotel ambiance is awesome , but too bad , really bad service
We came for the Calgary Stampede and found the hotel comfortable and conveniently located, within easy walking distance of nice restaurants and transport. Liked the fact that breakfast was included. Housekeeping was of a good standard. Appreciated the free Wi-Fi. Overall a pleasant stay and we would come again.
The cost because of Stampede week. Lack of a nice restaurant.
The size of rooms was amazing and the provision of amenities generous - Aveda bath products, magazines, bottled water, spare nylons if you have the need and event a flat iron. The free breakfast and Globe & Mail outside the door in the morning was great too.
Suites were outstanding, considering the space. But the lobby area can be improved to look more upmarket and less claustrophobic.
The lobby us too cramped. The waitresses at the breakfast area can be better trained, notwithstanding the fact that they do tend to work under pressure at times. But they need to learn how to cope in less stressful ways.
Only stayed one night, but the beds are wonderfully comfy.
Reception staff could be friendlier. Parking charges are high.
Had a great stay at the hotel. The bed was amazing.
This is my 5th time staying at this hotel. What I like about this hotel is its large room and city centre location which is very convenient to move around within the city. The hotel is located just beside Chinatown which has a couple of restaurants that open till 4am - so, you will never go hungry..!
Since the big flood in Calgary city last June, the hotel gym remains closed until now - this is really disappointing! One year on, the hotel staff still cannot explain why the gym is not ready for use. However, the hotel has arrangement for its guests to use the gym at the YMCA a few blocks away which in my view is not so convenient especially when the weather is cold.
Lots of amenities; quiet
Bed was too soft; couldn't order movies on the TVs; when packing found someone else's undergarments on the luggage rack
The 4th Avenue Lounge has an awesome staff Rooms (suites) are massive, very comfortable
Room was not clean, there was lusty water came out from the tap. Staff was unfriendly and they seem to watch and spy on guests. Hotel did not offer ballet parking, it was very difficult locate their parking spaces. Hotel room window was really dirty, never been cleaned for serveral years. Dust on the floor. Every worst possible things you can imagine can be found here. I highly recommand people to stay somethere else. Like Sandmand or Ramada.
