Quality of room Facilities
No breakfast Super late check in. Got sent to level 2 carrying a number of suitcases only to find a single bed. Later was told I was given the wron keys and should have been on ground floor. Not a fun stuff up.
Location was great Room clean
no parking not a great hotel for seniors due to steep stairs into hotel and then indie as well Our toilet ran all night
Location was fantastic - across the street from a park and stairs down to the main shopping street. Hotel was clean and warm (weather was chilly). Loved the shower products supplied!
Hallway smelled old and moldy but the room smelled clean.
Quaint little old hotel - reminds me of Paris
Squeaky floorboards above us
Excellent location for the value. Close walking distance to all Old Quebec has to offer
The hotel stairs to get to the upper floors.
Very good staff
Bathroom a little small but it is a "period" historic hotel
I stayed in the solo budget room. It was small, but it had plenty of room for me and a friend to hang out and have a few drinks before going out for some fun. The room was clean and cosy. No problems with hearing other guests, which I was concerned about.
Receptionists were good, Smiley, helpful, be welling to service us. Room is comfortable, bathroom is clean. Just walk down the stairs in front of hotel to the commercial street, u can found many restaurant and shop. Not far from Bus stop hub.
No amenities like water to drink or coffee in the morning.
Location was excellent. Could see horses with carriages passed by. Nearby almost everything. Liked the old building features. Liked the idea of the jardin with patio tables.
Tour buses drove by (not your fault). No parking (not yout fault).
This hotel is located in the centre-ville, which was very convenient for someone who does not drive.
I was traveling with my pet and our room was upstairs, so it was difficult for my dog to climb the high and tiny staircase.
Staff were friendly, the room well sized for our purposes (we were two friends and had a room with two beds) and the location perfect with all the important sights within walking distance. Breakfast not included but we were given discount vouchers for a local place which was good.
The bathroom wall underneath the window was a bit dodgy, looked open and blackened and unfinished. Also a room safe would have been welcome.
Excellent location, at the heart of old Quebec and close to all the main attractions. Outstanding hotel for a short stay. Nice, big and comfy bed. And nice bathroom. Calm and quiet with a nice terrace.
There is basically no staff in the hotel. They are in the hotel next door. So guests are left "abandoned". It was not a big deal for me but may make a difference and it was not mentioned in the description. I stayed for a long time (16 nights) and 2 times during this stay my room was not cleaned at all. Some other times, cleaning was just arranging the bed and not even the trash was removed from the room. Because I paid for each night the same price as someone who would stay for just one night, I expected a similar treatment, i.e., having a nice and totally clean room each night.
Very clean & comfortable. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was within convenient walking distance to the boardwalk, restaurants & shops. Hotel had an "old-time" charm.
vending machines in kitchen area were only half full, or not working properly.
Location Clean Wi-fi Great bathroom
3rd floor. Ac not good Paid for valet. But car was placed in local parking lot Watch out no screen in window. Could be dangerous for little kids
I booked a single budget room, that was indeed tiny, but had a very comfy twin bed and a very nice bathroom. The hotel is in a very old townhouse in the old town of Quebec City and it has great atmosphere. There is also a common area with espresso machine and a microwave, though I did not use it.
Respect of the historical and the inclusion of modern amenities. The entire facility was clean, the washroom was fresh and clean and the shower was great. The bed was firm. We had travel problems to deal with and the front desk were incredibly helpful.
We didn't like that we had to leave.
Steep uphill climb to reach the hotel, no elevator
You cannot get a better rate for the location. The place is charming.
Had to pay for parking (Valet option $20 / Public parking option $15). Room is small (not a problem for me since I travel light)
The staff did their best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Although the room was small and facing the street, the bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. The hotel is in a good location/walking distance to just about everything in Old Quebec City.
We were informed that our original room was at the back of the hotel and instead, it was on the street and the air conditioning did not work so that we had to be transferred to a smaller room with working AC but that again was facing the street. With no elevator, it makes things more difficult for senior citizens if your room is on the third floor. It was obvious that the Hotel Jardin Sainte-Anne was being treated as a second class addition to the Hotel Champlain. Parking cost more than at the Hotel Champlain and the buffet breakfast was not included. There was even a charge to use the coffee machine! At the very least, there should have been complimentary coffee. The Hotel Jardin Sainte-Anne needs updating and decorating. It could be a charming addition to the Hotel Champlain if there was a new carpet throughout, fresh paint in the common areas, paintings on the walls of the living room, a better air conditioning system, etc. The garden area needs to be tended to--weeding, etc. It also could be charming if taken care of. Unless this hotel was upgraded, we would not return. Not worth the money!
staff are not on site and are too busy; you are shuffled to someone else who does not remember what the original problem was
Great location. Spacious rooms.
Lack of information about having to book in at hotel along the road when arriving in the dark. Unsafe steps into hotel.
Very centric hotel, comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly and professional
No private parking available
Location is beautiful. Close to everything. Could not need better. Close to outside Quebec City Wall and close to all in Quebec City. Very clean room
Room was small. Air conditioner was on but hardly working
