Kellerman's Resort

The views were nice. The beach looked nice. The front desk staff was very attentive, friendly and responsive when we had issues.

The pool was ice cold. Not heated at all. The hallway carpet was stained, and not very well lit. All the rooms are non smoking, but a policy of "feel free to smoke on the balcony" means that smoke drifts directly into any open window. On a nice evening it's unfortunate that one can't feel the breeze off the water without getting a lung full of smoke. The shower temperature changed from boiling hot to ice cold at least 5 times in a 4 minute shower. We did not stay overnight due to the small bugs found in what would have been our children's bed. I am no expert so I'm not going to say it was the dreaded "BB".. but I was not about to take any chances.

Kellerman's Resort is set on a beautiful crystalline lake. It is only minutes from Parry Sound.

We were never advised that the King Room that we booked was up about 6 long flights of wood stairs. My husband has bad arthritis in his knees making the trek to the room with luggage quite the ordeal. We were amazed that there was no elevator to accommodate people with disabilities. Only in the morning, after check in, were we advised of a driveway along the side of the building that would have eliminated the long climb. We had booked this room for one night as we had spent the day at a Pow Wow in Shawanaga, about 30 km north of Parry Sound. We arrived exhausted from a full day and would have welcomed a functioning T.V. set.. When we checked in at about 8 p.m., they seemed unaware of the Booking.Com room rate of $146.25. They said their usual rate was $159/night. However, we had printed out a copy of the Booking.Com confirmation, of which the front desk made a copy. They did agree to the rate plus upon check out, they removed an "amenites fee" of $8.25, as we had called in advance to re-confirm the booking and had asked about a CAA discount, of 10 per cent which over the phone, they had agreed to. Apparently, that was a mistake as they don't offer a CAA rate. We had to call the front desk several times with various room issues. The first was lamps that weren't working. We checked and even changed the light bulbs from one lamp to another. Still, no light. Maintenance came up promptly with new lightbulbs. Still, didn't work. It turned out a previous guest had taken the lamps' plugs out of the wall, perhaps to recharge electronic devices. That was a minor problem and quickly rectified. Also, the T.V. was not working and we were not given proper information from the front desk on how to correct the issue with the cable. We were told to make sure the T.V. was tuned to Chennel 3. That didn't work. Then we called the hotel desk again, they suggested we try tuning the T.V. to Channel 4. Again, no luck. They did offer to come up.

Location! very beautiful lake view, all rooms (incl swimming pool) facing lake, quiet, clean, romantic...and not expensive. we spent 3 days here and it is very good for a family vacation. hope we cando it again in the future

Had to go to Parry Sound to seek more food options/plans. Another suggestion: a mini cruise can be offered if possible, for seniors and very young kids

Nice but not special. small beach wirth chairs, canoes and kayaks is nice. Opportunity to rent boats and waterscooters in the neighbourhood. Otter Lake is nice for a day or two. Some nice restaurants close by.

Hotel has a lot of staircases, build against a hill. People smoking on their terrasse drop the ashes on you. Some wear and tear on the hotel.

Quiet, comfortable and laid back. The staff were always friendly and did their best to make our stay comfortable. The lake was clean and the beach well cared for.

It was a bit of a hike up a lot of stairs to get from the car to the room. With that being said, the room was clean, big and confortable with a great view of Otter Lake. The indoor pool was clean but extremely cold.

Clean, relaxing, great staff, and a wonderful breakfast.

No place to buy a snack.

Great setting with updated facilities. Pleasant staff and good dining. These people know how to make guests welcome !

Both CN & CP trains run on either side of the resort alto some distance away.

The beach is nice and the view from the balcony was beautiful. We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, horseshoes. We ate at the restuarant and the food was good. The room was clean and the price was good. All in all we had a great time!

Bugs

Secluded, peaceful surroundings with a good view of the lake. Hotel staff were helpful and courteous.

Found a mouse running in the room on the Ist night. Hotel staff were nice to change our room. However, it was not an easy task to transfer my luggage and carry a toddler up many flights of stairs and at the same time, battled with mosquitoes under the cover of darkness.

The scernery was the only thing

No casino no golfing No horse riding No night clubs hardly anything that was advertised was there

wir buchten bei kellermanns wegen dem hallenbad. leider war dies trotz angegebener öffnungszeiten bis 22 uhr schon um 20.30 uhr geschlossen. auf verlangen wurde es aufgesperrt. das wasser war ungeheizt und kalt. die räumlichkeiten in einem unsauberen zustand. kellermanns resort ist in einem alten zustand. renovierungen wären dringend erforderlich. sehr weite anfahrt zur stadt.

Herrliche Lagean einem See, leider keine Wandermöglichkeit.

Location, silence, simplicity, nature.

New management still testing its new style. No breakfast proposed.

Very enjoyable stay and relaxing time. Great to ride Kayak and boat anytime we want. Quiet and clean place for family vacation. Definitely want to go back!

Location - wonderful. Beach and water - clean. Room - big and clean. Staff - friendly and helpful. Food - excellent but... it takes forever to be served.

I would suggest to the owner to either get ride of the dinner service or take aggressive steps to reduce the waiting time. Food is very good, but after more than one hour of waiting it is not appreciated any more. Maybe a pre-order system at the time of the reservation would solve the problem.

The food was horrible for the price, and the head chef was rude. Also, the cleanliness of our room was disappointing with hair in the jets of the tub and all over the hair dryer. Bathroom had no tissue. Emailed and called prior to our stay, no answer or reply back regarding questions that I had. Also, got locked out of our room and were told there was nothing that could be done about it. Should have some sort of maintenance person on hand?

My husband and I stayed at Kellerman's one night, returning home from a wedding in Toronto the previous day. The hotel staff were very friendly. Our room offered a lovely view of the lake. Room was clean.

We were very disappointed in our dinner Sunday evening although we did learn that the chef had just come on staff.

The location was fabulous.

When I booked I checked their website which claimed they offered gourmet cuisine, but a change of chef offered us just three mediocre choices of starter and main course. Breakfast was inedible. We had to search for a member of staff to get a drink in the bar. Rooms and decoration are dated. Whole place needs some TLC. A fitness suite was supposed to offer spa, whirlpool, gym and swimming pool. Pool was unheated; other options weren't available, whirlpool was loaded with rubbish. They've now launched a new website which ignores these items. As we checked out, we complained about the food and were offered a $50 credit for the dining room. As we had travelled there from the UK, they were fairly sure we wouldn't be using it! I won't be going back there. Wonderful location but not backed up by the hotel facilities.

Great location, beautiful lake. Great idea, but a bit (or more) run down. Apparently, there is not much better in the area.

Rooms and facilities all need updating and refurbishing. Food was not very good and service was frazzled, but doing their best.

Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommendes Personal. Super schöne Lage, mitten in der Natur. Perfekt um sich vom stressigen Altag zu erholen.

Im Cottage war das Bad nicht sehr sauber.

We needed a spot close to downtown Parry Sound and yet pleasant surroundings . It was about seven minutes to downtown. Perfect, as well it turned out to be close to friends we visited too .
