The spa was wonderful! The lounge had excellent food and live music in the evening.
Located on a point high above the ocean adjacent to a beautiful links golf course. Excellent walking trails at the entrance to a wildernous preserve. Food was delicious and staff was very professional and accomodating.
Beautiful views. Comfortable room and bed. Clean quality furnishings. Very friendly and helpful staff. Music in evening. Outstanding food.
The location and staff are superb. The breakfast buffet offers multiple and excellently prepared choices and is superb value.
I found the mattress in my cabin far far too soft and squishy, even though it was a new "pillow top". Also, the contour sheets (the bottom) did not fit the mattress and constantly came away from the mattress. Buy new sheets or offer rooms with firm mattresses.
The rooms were old and tired. The matress on the bed was bigger than the box-spring, so it felt like you would fall out of bed. The value for money was not there. The views however are spectacular.
staff were delightful room was very comfortable meals were excellent entertainment was superb
quite costly but worth it!
The Keltic Lodge lived up to our expectations as a fantastic place to stay - swimming in pool, on beach and in the lake all in walking distance. The staff were great. We ate in the bar and Atlantic restaurant which was good - but the coffee in the bar afterwards listening to live music was excellent.
The views, the people working the front desk.
I was stuck booking the cottage since the rooms in the main resort were all booked up and i would not recommend the cottages to anyone. The first thing we seen when we walked into the room was a spider going across the bed. the cottage itself smelled terrible and was extremely out dated. Definitely not worth the money. Next we ate at both on site restaurants and the food was okay at both of them but the service was terrible. the first one we ate at that was away from the main resort the servers were to busy to take are order for about 15 minutes on a very slow day cause they were all at the back talking to each other. When we left manager was out talking and laughing to someone in a car who was parked right in front of the doors on the walk way of the restaurant. The next one we ate at was in the resort but the waiter we had acted like a snob. We were also wanting to go to the Spa when there but unfortunately they can only do certain treatments at certain times of the day. So basically call ahead a few days before you go to try and work around there schedule. The last thing was there was a car in the ditch heading out of the resort next to the golf course for the entire time we stayed there. For what people pay to stay at the resort you think they could have called a tow truck and payed $50 to get it out of there.
The beauty and tranquility of the surroundings. The easy access to hiking trails.
The buffet breakfast was too expensive. With tip $45 for two!!
- When we reported our disappointing comments, the desk clerk was receptive to our information and said that corrective action would be taken. She also reduced our room rate by 50%. - We enjoyed the music in the bar in the evening.
- When we went to the room which had been assigned to us by the front desk, we found that the room was not ready. This was at 3 pm.Thus, we had to go back to the front desk (in another building), get a new room, move our luggage, etc. - When we went to our two rooms (the first one assigned and the second one) we found vacuum cleaners and bags of garbage laying in the hallways. No staff was with this equipment or garbage. It was just left there. - In our second room bathroom, the water tap was continuously running with hot water. It was not just dripping, it was flowing hot water non-stop, and could not be shut off. - In the same bathroom, the sink plug mechanism was broken, so that the sink could not be plugged for shaving, etc. - There were no facilities for tea or coffee or a small breakfast. Only breakfast in the dining room was available at $17. - The room had no view to speak of. It was dark, with windows under an overhang, facing a parking lot. This is not acceptable for a room costing $249. - We had looked forward to this visit as a special occasion, as Keltic Lodge is supposed to be a top rate establishment. Instead we had a disappointing and stressful experience. -
The location is just awesome. the hike to the middle head and the beach plus the food at the purple thistle restaurant is worth the trip up north of Nova Scotia-more do than the overated Cabot Trial.
Accomodation is rather youth hostel like when not staying in the main house.
Facilities need upgrades. The room was too small for all the furniture. The bathroom was horrible. Toilet did not work properly, the fan was extremely noisy and the bathtub was discusting. The landscaping could be better maintained. Not worth the high rate.
The location was super - views are spectacular.
Parts of the hotel are looking a little tired and dining options are quite limited
very nice spot
Keltic Lodge is situated absolutely beautiful on a small finger of land in the Cap Breton Island National Park, stretching into the sea.
The rooms (at least in the building opposite Atlantic Restaurant) need a complete makeover to be worth the price. Cleanliness of bedsheets left a lot to desire ...
Having the option to stay at the Hotel or the Inn. Nice pool. Beautiful scenery. Music and food in the pub style restaurant was great.
The location was amazing. The Purple Thistle was amazing, I recommend the seafood chowder. The cottage was had was also great. All of the staff were great, friendly, helping people.
We got the couples massage. If you are looking strictly for a relaxing massage it would be fine. If you are looking for a deeper massage to get the aches and pains out maybe from hiking in the area, don't expect this massage to go to deep. The staff and facilities were amazing though.
Location was exceptional and facilities were first class
Some accommodation blocks were a bit far from the main building
Absolutely beautiful location in the heart of the Cabot Trail with a top golf course attached.
Restaurant choices limited.
It is extremely obvious that the ownership group is relying on past reputation and the fact that this is the "highest" rated place on the Cabot Trail. The towels were nasty and scratchy. The floor and room was like a Super 8 or No Tell Motel. Don't go for the "renovated" rooms. Buyer Beware!!!!!
Location is spectacular
Rooms are outdated and for the price I expected better, restaurants were very over priced
Separation of the room from the main Lodge. Closure of a restaurant in late June.
The views were outstanding The beds were VERY comfy The staff was wonderful Good food with 3 dining options Activities were numerous Great golf !
A little lack of communication regarding National Park options/ fees.
As two women travelling together without kids, we were placed between two families with kids that were travelling together. Very annyoning. The dinner in the thistle wasn't great, expensive and again placed right on top of someone while a large portion of the room goes unused!!!
