lack of mirror.
Near No frills supermarket and Sherbourne subway station.
The room temperature was set to sauna. We were hot like a summers night in Australia. There was a fridge, 2 mugs and 2 glasses. No spoons, no complimentary coffee , tea or sugar sachets. Furniture old and stained.
The host is very nice! He helps us lot. And this guest house is very convenient for food and for transportation
Excellent location Well-organized Very clean. The rooms are really well cleaned and maintained. Pleasant bed linen Courteous staff
Not very sound -proof room. In the first room we occupied there was a very loud noise of plumber pipes when our neighbours on top used water or flushed in the bathroom. But when we complained about this, the staff was understanding and they moved us to a quiet room as soon as it was vacant. In the second room, however, the door was a little smaller than a doorframe, so we heard well people in the hallway.
staff is good
The room was very comfortable and the staff were friendly. Room was clean and tidy.
Location was hard to find as map does not show it properly. Shower was not clean. Not enough towels and no cutlery.
Rather good wifi, nice location, clean and peaceful
There was no hot water for a day and the room was relatively cold.
The room was very close to subways, shops and restaurants and the price is very good.
The room was too hot and there were not the possibility to set the temperature, in the end of november we had to sleep with the window open!
close to were i need to go also close to the restaurants
It was very cold outside and there is no hot water, also the bathroom is very small and old, No kitchen and the place need remodeling... you can get better place for that amount of money.
For people looking to explore Toronto, get out and about and adventure...This accommodation is perfect. It's clean, comfortable, very central and the staff are just lovely! It's not an apartment, you get a bed, a bathroom and a fridge, freezer, microwave and television...but what more do you need when the purpose of your visit is to get out and about! Keppner Guest House was the perfect base for me when I was on my travels, I'd recommend it to anyone.
The rooms are not like website pictures. The heat was extremly hot and it was impossible to manage it from the room. It was a terrible experience!
Very good price in a convenient location and close to subway station. The room was spacious and pretty.
Central heating was not controlled properly. The room was either too warm or too cold. There were no towel or sheet change in our 3 night stay.
location was good, off street parking
No where to hang your clothes, only place to sit was on the bed which was at right angles to the TV, too cramped, bathroom had no heating and was cold
Easy walking distance to restaurants, bit further to walk to the main shopping area but still walking distance if you are capable, good facilities, including a laundry which is very helpful when travelling. Room was clean and the shower was excellent.
No flannels in bathroom, no extra pillows, but these are minor complaints compared to the positives.
good location, good value
small room, small bathroom, no sound proofing inside the house. only one chair in the room, no table, no possible breakfast. not in line with description provided by booking.
5 minute walk to Sherbourne subway, coffee places Tim Horton's and Timothy's. Restaurants around the corner. 5 minute walk in opposite direction to main intersection of Yonge & Bloor. Close to all kinds of shopping. Prices extremely reasonable. Microwave and small fridge in room. Free WIFI. Own bathroom. Very clean.
No continental breakfast or coffee.
Electric cabling runs round the floor and plugs are located too far away from desk to be able to use it. Furniture was clearly a job lot. Green man-made material covered wire frame wardrobe, no chest of drawers, ingrained dirt in small carpet/rug probably from microwave, inadequate mattress and iron head board rickety and perpetually squeaking. Legroom of toilet far too cramped.Had to sit sideways. Only one clothes washing machine causing queuing. Room cleaned only once in 6 night stay. As a single occupant I probably got the smallest room which was smaller than a basic cruise liner stateroom. The location is not as close to metro stations as some would suggest and shopping in the area is terrible. Restaurants are a long walk away.
I got a small queen room for 3 nights for only 152! It was a close walk to downtown I was expecting to be in a bad area for the cheap price but it wasn't They were friendly Wifi was good Can't complain
Peaceful location, relatively close to the center, just 30 mins away by walk+subway. The room was large. Perfect for someone who wants a comfortable and affordable place for a longer stay. The staff could be reached all the time. The sound proofing was not very good, but the other guests were very quiet almost all the time.
The shower water temperature was first too cold, then too hot, only good a short while in the middle.
The room was quite large, the bed, too (although not very comfortable). A big plus is that, although not directly in town, it is quite easy to get there via public transport, or even by foot if you're sporty.
Upon arrival, I received two unclean towels. I simply wanted to request new towels. The Asian hosts (they say there is an absent German owner) could hardly speak English & were often not even there. Only when called did they come - and needed 20 minutes to do so & were unfriendly. With some delay, I received the fresh towels. The bed, although, as stated, big, is not particularly comfortable. The room is not very spacious, I was delegated into a room for people who have a handicap, so the shower was very awkward indeed, and the window small. There was nothing to prevent people from looking into the bathroom, unfortunately, and I did catch someone's eye. The place is quite noisy, you can hear everything. Although not far from town, it is quite a dangerous area. I was attacked once in the evening by a man and did not feel comfortable thereafter, for obvious reasons.
This location is ideal . Away from the very busy and active Bloor Street area that is just 1 block away,,,,very quite and not a lot of traffic
WE HAD A WONDERFUL STAY IN TORONTO AND APPRECIATED THE CALMNESS OF THE GUESTHOUSE WITHIN THE BIG CITY.
Bathroom was spacious. Bed linens looked clean. Mini fridge and microwave available ensuite. Convenient and quiet location downtown.
Room temperature was cold and only a blanket was available (no comforter). Water temperature and pressure in the shower was variable. Room was very small but expected. Pipes were very loud at 8:00am -- sounded like Japanese drums! Found what looked like a small house centipede on the bed.
Likes the room, the high ceiling. The clean bathroom and the bay windows.
The air conditioner mounted too high to reach and was too cold to sleep, we couldn't turn it off. They should give thicker cover.
