This place was amazing!! It was out of town & so beautiful, it was peaceful, romantic & cosy. Absolutely loved staying here :)
The setting and the spaciousness of the chalet, the walks in the surrounding area. Comfortably furnished
The BBQ is positively dangerous and needs scrapping. Wifi signal is weak but at least it has wifi!
The location was great. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member who was happy to accommodate us.
There was something wrong with our fireplace it was always going out. There was dog sled dogs barking all hours. And there was rules all dogs to be leashed at all times apparently this does not apply to all there as countless times there was large dogs running free. The staff also was not there after checking in everyone was gone and only to contact if emergency
Really cozy, spacious chalets. Nice kitchen and accessories. A lot of beds. Bathrooms on upper and lower floor. Overall a very nice place to stay. We had a great time staying here!
Wifi connection was really bad. Just trying to read email was a problem. Bathtub in the sleeping area on the upper floor.
If you are looking to get away from it all this is the place. Quiet and secluded. Great rustic mountain experience.
I found that it was a bit far from grocery stores and the ski hill. 60 km round trip is a bit of a drive if you forget anything.
Such a beautiful place, exactly as we hoped it would be.
beautiful surroundings quiet & relaxing
Had great time to get away from the city. Very relaxing
Wifi connection poor.
Peaceful quiet.. quality of the chalets
Need washing facilites Little too far from town
Beds are hard but pullout couch was awesome !!!
Chalet was comfy and spacious location was quiet
Operates as 2 businesses so greeting on arrival was off hand as "we were booked with the other company". No instructions for any of the appliances and coffee maker was broken. No staff at all when we left.
The Chalet was clean, well equipped and had a good location with great view of the mountains. It is close to the river as well.
The $100.00 pet fee was excessive for 2 nights. Never seen one so high.
Very nice place Good equipment
Almost no contact with the owner
Beautiful location, quiet, close to the river. The chalet was beautiful and comfortable; it was a real 'Canadian' experience for my friends from Denmark. The Chancellor Peak staff helped me jump my behicle after I had forgotten to turn my lights off! Thank you Guillaume.
The Kicking Horse River Chalet staff was never seen. We did receive excellent help from a young French man working for Chancellor \peak Chalets. However he was unable to, for example, help us with the BBQ, which in fact, was dangerous, Cabin #. The BBQ is missing one hose completely, so if the gas is turned on, and someone didn't look underneath, but assumed there were two hoses, as there are 2 controls, there could be a nasty explosion. The coffee pot didn't work, because the pot was not the right size for the machine.
The chalets here are wonderful - beautifully made and full of soul. The kitchen and bathrooms are functional but not designer. But in a place as stunning as this its all you need. We (a family of 4) absolutely loved. We could live in a chalet like this for ever. Think we might try and build one in the UK!
The scenery from our chalet was mesmerizing and there's so much to do in this area.Wet&Wild river rafting is around the corner and Banff Atv tour's are there right next to Wet&Wild, Banff Atv tours also offer zip lining which is a lot of fun. Chalets are very well equipped and very comfortable, there is Wi-fi connection and the Location of the chalets is just a blessing, you are just 100 meters away from the kicking horse river. For nature lovers this place is a blessing!!!
No front office or reception.
No WiFi password available when we checked in late
location, cleanliness, quietness, interior & exterior of the chalet, the nice gentlemen waiting for us upon arrival and giving us all the info needed. Thanks a lot for having a great time.
the chalet and surroundings, beautiful peaceful, quite place
there was no laundry, and table outside missing (the other chalets had a table), toaster not working
Very poor staff on site- we locked ourselves out of the cabin (I know this was our fault) but we had our baby inside! It was all very stressful because we had to bang in the door if the office many times even though we could see the staff inside. I realize it was outside of office hours but it was an emergency because my baby was inside. When the door was finally opened we were treated very rudely. This made me feel very unwelcome! With no phone service there needs to be accommodations made in the event of emergencies.
Full kitchen with pans, dishes, utensils and outdoor grill. mountain views, quiet, rafting and atv tours, 40min from Banff to chalet. from chalet 20min drive to Golden, views not seen in national park. Golden has groceries, gas, etc.
I found nothing to not like.
- very spacious for up to 6 persons - fully equipped kitchen - working fireplace - good bed - gas grill available
Only minor things: - WIFI reception wasn't always that strong in all areas of the chalet - old TV (no flat screen)
We booked 2 chalets separately & when there was a cancellation the manager notified us that he had got them next to each other. We liked the location & view & the facilities. It had everything you need for a short stay. We brought our own food precooked/ frozen so we did not have to get anything. First experience in a chalet of this kind.
The toaster was not working. The tv remotes did not work as some buttons were missing. No one was available to look into it. The only person in the office (who handed us the keys) at the location said he was not managing it & that Jack who was in Golden was the one to talk to. Jack did find time to call me when there was a problem with the credit card going through but was unavailable to look into our problems.
Very Spacious, Beautiful Views, away from the hustle and bustle. This is perfect for families that want to go camping but don’t have a Camper/RV and don’t want to pitch a tent. There is little to no cell phone reception so it gives a good reason to “un-plug” for a few days. We did have a TV that received 3 channels. With a fully equipped kitchen and a gas grill on the deck all you need to bring are groceries. These Chalets would be perfect for a family retreat/reunion or that group of friends looking for a great weekend. White-water rafting and zip lining are just around the corner. Golden is just about a 15-20 min drive.
Yes, there were bugs; but not enough to bother us. There were some workers currently working on each chalet to update the weather stripping to help with bugs in the summer and drafts in the winter. We had no cell reception with our Rogers phones, but Telus and Bell seem to get better reception.
