Everything was above average.
there was a problem with the elevator, which has surely been solved by now.
The staff worked with me. The owner were very informative and worked with us. She spoke mostly to my wife (as they are both Chinese) and gave us no pressure. Wifi was excellent, better than I had used in bigger named hotels during my stay in Canada. They are within a short walking distance from St. Dennis where there is a ton of food to eat. Again the staff made it more personal experience. I would absolutely book there again, but when its a bit warmer as Montreal can get quite cold. Book early, summer months all the hotels can sell out.
Parking. It is a busy area so if you intend to stay here and park your options are limited. However it's not as bad as say NYC. Like any big city, parking is an issue. They have some odd parking restrictions so be mindful how long you stay in the hotel and try to return early to find a spot.
I have been going to this hotel for many years and have always enjoyed the quaint, old style building. I especially like the night clerk, he always remembers me even if I haven't been back for years. Location is fantastic, close to subway and main bus station.
Day staff is a little bit on the micro-manage side and the continental breakfast is now a few dollars per person, the penny pinching is a bit of a joke.
Need to work on house keeping and services.
location is good the hotel photos show the place in an amazingly unrealistic light
no hot water uncomfortable bed smelly carpet & bedding nothing seemed clean could smell smoke in facility poor value for price fake, probably owner reviews
The Coy Fish in the lobby pond make you feel relaxed and welcomed. The reflective atmosphere of a simpler time is calming and embracing. The family staff are very friendly and forthcoming to all your needs. I could live here!
Price, location, staff. Staff was very helpful, got me a mini-fridge in my room upon request (one was available from another room). Also i always stay here, and i request certain rooms, they're always very accommodating with this.
The showers are comically small and the water takes 5 mins+ to get hot (it does get hot, though).
We enjoyed the location; it was easy to go to wherever we wanted to go. It was really nice that we could leave our luggage after we checked out so, we could visit the city further. The staff was also very kind and helpful!
I would have liked a place to make food. otherwise, everything was GREAT!
Location. Helpfulness of staff. Price.
Room was cold, but we did find a plug in heater so that solved that. My friends WiFi didn't seem to connect the first day, mine on the other hand, happy out :-)
price and location
overall quality and lack of parking places. Parking on the street is not allowed, contrary to the advertised
Very noicy from other room in midnight time.
Overpriced, smelly, loud. Avoid.
indetail introduction about many information.
Nothing much. The location was ok, not far from metro, lively areas with restaurants and attractions. Parking is a bit tricky as there are only 6 spots for the pehaps 2 or 3 blocks. You also have to move the car out for a few hours every week.
Really not a clean place, towels that should have been thrown away many years ago, tiny bathroom, constant noises of water passing through pipes during the whole night.
The possibility to park near the hotel
It was so dirty, I never try an experience like this hotel. And not only for the old carpet in the rooms, the blanket and all the lined give a dirty sensation. I slept wearing my clothes to don't touch anything. I'm so sorry for people that work in this place, but the price it's too high for this hotel!
It is a cave located in down town Montreal.
Dirty sheets Dirty carpet Very small bathroom Dirty pillows
Location was good, just a 3 minutes walk to the metro station Sherbrooke that is very central, also in walking distance to many points of interest.
Our first room didn't have windows to open , so it got pretty bad air but there was an AC in the room. The shower was small and dirty, not really attractive for showering but when we changed the room (the staff was pretty nice and let us change immediately), we got a bit better shower and also a room with fridge and microwave what we hadn't before
The fire escape was convenient for smokers, however also allows for your neighbours to enter your room from the outside.
Staff were not friendly, rooms were not like what was advertised. Unclean, no amenities, and questionable room security. The lock on our door was broken.
close to attraction and metro stations
Very noisy, had to run the a/c fan all night long. Several times there was no hot water to shower.
Friendly staff, location near bus station. Useful for backpackers wanting somewhere dry and a friendly smile, but limited facilities.
Lavatory virtually unusable. A 10-year-old child might have been able to sit on it properly, but not an adult. Seat facing wall, perhaps 10 cm legroom, so adults have to sit sideways. Lavatory also only child height. Internet intermittent. Carpet torn and dirty, sheets not ironed.
Location - close to subway, shops, restaurants.
Shower was small.
Location Price Staff were friendly It's a perfect place if you're just using the room to sleep. You cant't pay $70/night and expect 4-5 star amenities. We spent the weekend at osheaga and this place was great for it.
Smallest bathroom I've ever seen. I'm a 6ft guy and couldn't lift my arms in the bathroom. Small rooms. My girlfriend complained about the lack of hot water.
Room 47 - two double beds and lots room to move about. Clean enough and no bugs. Close to the Metro/restaurants. Elevator. Desk staff were helpful and friendly. If all you need is a place to sleep, this hotel is more than adequate.
Tiny bathroom (but this is normal for Montreal). Noisy neighbours/thin walls.
Great location, stayed here for Osheaga it was a good clean place to rest your head at night. Close to the metro only one stop to the festival and close to the nightlife walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful.
