classical or opera music at breakfast.......we're just a pair of hillbillies
GREAT, BEAUTIFUL AND CONVENIENT PLACE TO STAY
Street cleaner in early a.m. hrs.
Convenient, helpful staff
Slightly dated but expected that for price
Closness to the Ferry.
It is right out of the 1950's.Tiny shower and toilet room.Lattice to separate beds from sink. Wooden chairs. Tube TV.
Matthew is friendly and welcoming. He made sure that his guests are comfortable. The rooms are not large, but they are spotlessly clean and the decor is charming. There is free shuttle transport and fast wifi. Nothing to complain, excellent service.
Nice, very clean, reasonably priced motel. Worth the extra money for deliciously filling breakfast in lovely dining room. Owner friendly and patient with our many questions about the area.
We were meeting up with another couple at the motel later in the day-they were on their honeymoon. We arrived early in the day and Matt helped us chill some champagne, supplied us with champagne flutes and made dinner reservations for us. He was the best!
Charming and inviting grounds made us wish we could stay longer than one night. Excellent location for catching ferry back to Maine the next morning.
We stayed at the Lakelawn before taking the Nova Star ferry. The room was pretty standard - but the location is beautiful, right by Lake Milo, and convenient to restaurants and other local sites. The host was also excellent, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and in a beautiful setting. Would highly recommend.
There were no places to hang used towels in the room or bathroom, which was kind of odd.
Lovely Victorian house with attached motel. Very well maintained and attractive, friendly staff. Across the street from lake, good swimming. Paying extra for breakfast was well worth it.
Do have the breakfast!
Rooms are a bit shabby, but clean.
The location was perfect for our overnight stay to catch the early morning ferry. The room was spacious and comfortable with a number of amenities: fridge, microwave and wi-fi. Matthew, the proprietor, was an exceptional host and treated us warmly. Breakfast for an extra small fee was outstanding.
Perhaps it was unseasonably warm during our mid-August but we would have liked the room to be air-conditioned.
The staff was so kind and attentive. Matthew was fantastic along with val, milby tiffany, kelly, and brittany. The morning breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend!
I liked all. No complaints whatsoever!
Location was great as we were heading to the ferry the next day. Clean and had the basics.
Walls are quite thin, both between room and bathroom and between adjoining rooms. Looks a bit run down.
The Lakelawn is kept up very well. The breakfast is amazing, and a great value. Landscaping is beautiful. Location is 5 minutes from the ferry terminal.
Light switches are sometimes hard to find. As good as the breakfast was, I would have loved it if the dining room served dinner!
cleanliness and courtesy of front desk
Free parking. Rooms had microwave and fridge. Note that there is a difference in the B&B rooms vs. the Motel rooms.
The motel rooms were old, cheaply furnished, with bare-minimum accommodations. For what it offers was overpriced: total cost for 1 night stay was $100 (US dollars, including taxes). We paid exactly twice that for a 4-star hotel in downtown Halifax.
The beds were hard. A raise in the floor is a tripping hazard.shower is too narrow.sink and bath are poor layout.guests are allowed to smoke in doorways.
The flowers , the homey room.
Location is perfect for reaching every attraction of yarmouth. The rooms are impeccably clean. The rooms may be quaint but you won't regret staying here. Make sure to get the breakfast. It's great.
The staff was extremely friendly, the room very clean, and it had screens in the windows so you could open the windows. A lot of places don't have that!
Location close to the the ferry terminal is as good as it gets. The owner is of an unprecedented and genuine kindness. I wish him well and I hope that he wil welcome his guests in the same friendly manner for years to come.
Nothing really, the accomodation is basic but clean and in good shape.
Area was greet not load at all
Wi fi to be more up date
The property is a beautiful old structure, nicely painted and maintained, with a warm and welcoming feel to it. The owner works the front desk and is very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable with a good shower.
Our room was the closest to the road so there was a bit of traffic noise. Would have been nicer to be closer to the main building.
