The host, the location, the value for the money
Friendly proprietor. Large room, warm & quiet. Near metro station & good choice of restaurants. Trouble-free WiFi. Ample breakfast. Excellent home-from-home, pied-à-terre ambience.
General state of decoration rather faded, but nice & homely rather than shabby.
More focused on money than the costomer. And doent ask for "too" much coffee in the morning because you will be told that aditional coffee costs extra somewhere else in the world. Very small room and very loud when others talked during the night. I have tried others to the same price... and I am not the piggy type but please... treat turists with dignity.
Huge room, lots of character (double room with two Queen beds).
The shower had to be held in the hand, and the drain clogged with debris (hair, paint chips from the tub). No air conditioning. Window opened, but cld not leave it open because of the lack of a screen and the noise from the street. The mattress needs upgrading - not comfortable.
The owner was amazing and very welcoming!
The owner was upbeat and nice. The bagels and croissants at breakfast were good. It is in a central location, near shops and restaurants and close to the subway.
The bathroom was at the far end of the hall and shared between 4-5 rooms. The shower was partly covered in mildew. The shower head was left in the bottom of the tub. There was no hook for it. The toilet cubicle was very cramped. Overall the B&B is not well maintained (lights didn't work, cracks in sink, etc).
friendly owner bed was very comfortable very clean great location (very close to metro station and tons of restaurants and some shopping around) good price
wifi was iffy our room was very small no airconditioning and the window didn't open no blue balcony
Disturbing odour from host. Outside deteriorating. False advertising on website regarding room decor. We did not want to stay due to poor environment. Owner unwilling and unreasonable regarding cancellation fee. Charged full price immediately and gave a non professional slip as a receipt. suggestion: website be taken down from booking.com
The location was great. Heart of where you'd want to be in Montreal. For the money I guess it is good? But not compared to other BnBs I've been to.
The room was a shoe box, the other occupants were roaming around half naked (not something I'd care to see at 6:30am), two fans in the room which had to make due since there is no ac. Left the door open to exterior to bring in a slight breeze. Didnt stay for breakfast... after the shower(which the head sprayer had to be held up manually and the drain hole had to be unclogged free of hair and dirt) we just left to find a nice breakfast joint down the street.
The hotel staff are always helpful and nice to guests. You feel like a king in a five star hotel while enjoying your breakfast. You can get any useful advice of sightseeing.
no toilette in the room. the equipment is a little bit too old.
The hopsitality of Mr Said. He is an amicable person to talk to. The rooms were spacious.
Did not like the cleanliness - the dining room floor was not cleaned everyday. The breakfast was monotonous; there can be variety everyday.
The room was clean and comfortable. The other travelers were friendly.
The breakfast was no better than the continental breakfast I get at a motel–hard boiled egg, packaged bread, orange juice, orange slices, coffee or tea.
Great location close to the Metro in a great neighborhood. Room was large and clean. We didn't eat breakfast but the coffee was good!
The construction in the area made driving and parking a bit frustrating. But can't be helped I guess.
Charming host went above and beyond as did the Montreal police and citizens when my wallet was stolen on the Metro. (It was returned everything intact in uding money!)
Confusion over a cancellation due to a mistake I made when originally booked lead to almost no room at all. Even though i had rebooked and updated after cancellation, owner thought original cancellation meant my rebook/update was cancelled also. Regardless of new confirmation number and update being three weeks after. In the end it worked out.
cleanliness and location of the place
Great location. Said provided friendly service.
This BnB charges a lot for silly extras. For example, if you want to leave your bag there after checking out, it will cost you at least $5, bathroom $2. I'd prefer to stay somewhere that is more generous to its paying guests.
Close to metro and very friendly staff.
My room was too close to the kitchen and staff woke me up when they were preparing breakfast.
The owner is very accomodating and pleasant, the rooms are great for the cost, and large tables and large kitchen make it a great B&B.
Close to metro. Big room. Good host.
Hate the shower and its curtains kept touching me. So dirty! And also i had to hold the shower handle because it didnt have a hook to keep it hold.
The easy adaptation of the owner to my schedules. It was quiet. The room was cute and the bed comfortable. It was warm in the room when we arrived. The owner was courteous and polite.
The common areas were cold (not heated enough). There is some decoration work to be done (in the bathroom, the hall on the 2nd floor, some paint on the ceiling...). There is not much decoration in the common areas on the 2nd floor...it feels like an abandonned place, compared to the nice rooms.
Room location shared bathroom no choice at breakfast (not asked how we would like our eggs) lack of privacy mo sitting room. BASIC
The manager, Said, was outgoing and gracious. Breakfast was fruit, orange juice, coffee, a boiled egg in an egg-cup, and a croissant, served in style. There is a full kitchen and lounge for use by the guests.
The room was cramped (but the price was right).
