The young host and hostess were very helpful The new owners are in the process if renovation Our room was totally re done and comfortable The lobby was yet to be renovated Are trip to Quebec City was most enjoyable Serge
The staff, the breakfast, the WiFi, the location.
Comfortable, rooms are period furnished, most with modern bathroom fittings, All furnishings wall coverings etc well maintained and clean. Husband and wife team very helpful, breakfast excellent as much as you want to eat, buffet style. Located old city, short walk to landmarks.
No parking on site, helped with parking nearby, and for short periods spaces available nearby.
Very quaint small hotel formed from an old upscale townhouse in an excellent location for easy walking about old Quebec. Our room was small but very comfortable. The owners are very friendly and fluent in English (as well as French and Chinese). The optional cold breakfast ($6 each) was delicious and extensive; special mention to the excellent coffee and croissants! The owners readily provided a electric kettle and tea bags at our request.
There was nothing we didn't like. People of size could find the small bathroom awkward. People with mobility problems could have difficulty managing the stairs. We did not have a car with us, so can't comment on parking.
Room was very comfortable and the staff very attentive.
Old hotel with very uneven steps and no grab bars. Easy to fall.
Location & room. $6 breakfast also good. Accommodating host.
Perfect location. Excellent breakfast. Staffs are warm-hearted.
It was a very good location in the Old Town and the owners were very friendly.
Our room was fine except the bathroom was almost literally in a closet with accordion doors and comprised of a toilet almost touching the shower. Hardly any room to change in. The sink was in the bedroom. That was not clear, nor was the size of the room in the pictures. Good breakfast though and bed comfortable. What we paid was fair for the facilities, although I would not have booked if I had known about the bathroom.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The very serviceminded and friendly couple that runs it made my stay perfect. Nice beds, very good breakfast, excellent location and perfect wifi. What more to ask for?
I had a heavy suitcase and the stairs, both outside and inside, were a bit tricky.
This hotel is in an excellent location - lots of restaurants nearby as well as tourist attractions - the owners , Min and Ron were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well furnished - also there was a lovely buffet breakfast in the morning - we would certainly return on another visit to Quebec city and definitely recommend it to other travellers.
The bathroom was small but manageable.
The very courteous staff, extremely helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.
The rooms were a little small, but still had everything that was needed.
location - I could see the Chateau Frontenac from my window. Breakfast was excvellent value and plentiful. Rooms clean and well equipeed. Staff - so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and gave great advice about the city
A very minor issue - there was only a shower (no bath) in my ensuite. BUT it was an enormous shower with different jets, so not really a complaint!
Overall a great value good location near all you need spent 5days each day something new
The Chateau de Pierre is a charming bed and breakfast style hotel with equally charming and very helpful proprietors. The property is fastidiously maintained and extremely clean. Location is good being within an easy walking distance to all the sights of Old Quebec. A good continental style buffet breakfast is available at a modest cost. Cannot advise as per parking as we arrived by train. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Quebec City with the Chateau de Pierre being part of the reason. Would have absolutely no hesitation of staying at this property again or recommending to anyone else looking for this style of accommodation to do the same. Simply superb.
Nothing at all
Small, quaint hotel in keeping with the old-world flavor of Old Quebec City; warm atmosphere and very friendly owners/operators; great location on a quiet street and close to most historical locations; would highly recommend!
Rooms a bit small (characteristic of older hotels) and no elevator but staff very helpful with carrying luggage to room.
We loved the location, it was easy walking distance to everything. We also liked the breakfast, which was very reasonably priced and offered a wide variety of delicious choices. The staff was also friendly and very helpful.
The bed was a little small as was the bathroom, but not unusual for a vintage hotel.
Excellent proximity to shops and restaurants. Close to the boardwalk, tourist centre and access to lower town. Continental breakfast was good for the price. Room was small but clean, didn't spend too much time in the room anyways. Staff was friendly. I would recommend to friends.
Friendly, helpful staff who assisted us in booking tours.
Noisy people above us . It sounded like they were moving furniture around late at night.
friendliness and assistance of the staff, beautiful interesting building, very reasonable breakfasts
nothing at all
The staff was fabulous. The breakfast was more than expected. The bed was comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring Old Quebec.
The carpet in our room needed to be cleaned.
Everything was very clean. The room was comfortable. Breakfast had homemade muffins and croissants, very good coffee, excellent selection of fresh fruits.
Bathroom in somewhat small
Location was perfect. The breakfast was very good & served at reasonable hours. Proprietors were very nice people. View of one end of the Frontenac and the river from our side window.
No elevator. We had lots of luggage for a cruise after our stay. However, we were placed on the first floor & only had to deal with the few stairs up from the street.
It was a great experience, close to the St.Lawrence and all the attractions. Easy to find your way; and Min helped us find a great area. Very safe to walk around.
Not a thing.
