Score from 285 reviews Very good
We had the "budget" room which is outside the main building. It felt like our little cottage. Room is small but charming and well equipped. Breakfast was abundant with lots of variety including scrambled eggs and great coffee. Very close to bus station. Walk to old town not too far, even for "oldies". VERY SECURE BUILDING. Must have key or be "buzzed" in.
Bathroom tiny with tinier shower; however, workable and very clean. Neighborhood is geared to college students and other young people. Need to walk a bit to find restaurants that serve more than sandwiches or pizza.
Location was quite accessible to main attractions and to bus station to take an airport bus. There were plenty of restaurants nearby and we were recommended a very good restaurant.
Room was very small and below ground level -though this did stop any noise from a busy street. A negative was having to negotiate stairs to entrance with luggage, then go down quite a flight of stairs to reach room. Also receptionist staff varied in how helpful they were with tourist information.
Room is a bit small for long stay.
Nice facilities, clean. If you like new and looking for great entertainment location, this is the place. Walking distance(about a mile) to OLD Montreal and port.
Bed too firm for my liking but that's always subjective. Continental breakfast was ok.
The staff were amazing. We've stayed in lots of B&Bs and were especially impressed with the helpfulness of the staff. The buffet breakfast was very good. We had to leave for the airport early, and the breakfast room was opened early to accommodate us.
The room was small but since we chose the smallest (least expensive) option, I'm sure there are larger rooms.
Our room was adorable, the staff was great, and breakfast was perfect. Buffet and lots of choices. Really good location.
Parking was a couple of blocks away, and the bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen, but neither was a hug problem. I was surprised by the amount of litter and graffiti we saw all over Montreal.
Loved the staff.
Budget room was tight.
Good breakfast. The parking was convenient. We were able to walk to the downtown area in about 15 minutes. There were some nice restaurants close by.
the room was clean and modern. Staff were very helpful.
I loved and hated the location. It was great for the shops and restaurants around but oohhh the traffic!
The smell of the sheets!
Had bijou charm. Our first room was pretty small but comfortable, much like a room we had in the Latin Quarter in Paris! For the last day of our stay we luckily got a last minute cancellation (we made a mistake on the booking dates and were one day short, and it was Grand Prix week!!), and had a suite. Not much more expensive, great value, separate living room, large bathroom with a spa bath. Luxury! Just a short walk to Berri UQAM train station which seems to be central for several lines. Lots of local restaurants -a beautiful Asian restaurant a few doors down!
Carrying bags up 2 flights of stairs-no lift. Not actually much of a problem.
rooms staff breakfast (fresh) proximity to city center
Excellent full breakfast served daily
The beds were so comfortable. Slept like a baby. Also enjoyed the spa tub with jacuzzi jets -- very relaxing!
Having to haul suitcases up to the 3rd floor -- i.e., no elevator.
Budget room might fit a midget. Reception lady argued over bill, not pleasant. Noisy.
Location was excellent. Very secure and I felt safe.
I wish I would have known I was going to be on 3rd floor with no elevator. I am older and it was a challenge.
Loved the area. So close to great restauranta and action. Also walking distance to everything. Breakfast was lovely and the staff very helpful.
The front entrance was really quite shabby and rundown in appearance. In fact a business colleague met us there and he was ready to "save" us from this hotel. We assured him we liked character and that our room, although small was quite nice. I also was not aware from the website that we had to go outside to get to our room and that it actually was more like a motel in that respect.
The excellent location, the free WiFi, the breakfast (very good for a hotel of this size in Canada), the friendly staff, the spacious room.
It was a bit difficult to get the room dark at night, as we couldn't close the blinds as tightly as we would've liked.
Small but quite adequate, very clean, staff very pleasant and helpful. Location is colorful and convenient to transportation and lots of restaurants.
It would have been nice to have a lobby.
Perfect location close to lots of restaurants, stores, theather etc.
Location very convenient for a quick visit to town: one block away from the airport bus terminal and two from the central metro station. Staff very helpful and courteous.
No elevator in the hotel, but if you travel light it's not a big deal.
