Staff made great effort to make us comfortable when we complained about the first room we were given which was supposed to be for someone with a disability but was like a bowling alley. We decided that this room is in all likelihood used as a break out room and put together as a room for someone with disabilities on the fly. The bed was a double that was pulled down from the wall. Did not like the rooms for disabled which I booked. First room was like a bowling alley the bed at one end of the bowling alley and the TV on the farthest wall away. Very uncomfortable. The second room was slightly more comfortable but the TV was perpendicular to the bed - also a pull down from the wall but at least kingsize as opposed to a double in the first room. The room had a huge light fixture over the bed which looked like one that would be over a conference table not a bed therefore we concluded that the disability rooms are used as breakout meeting rooms when not booked and are hastily converted. There were many dead flies in this huge light fixture which detracted from the feeling of cleanliness in the room. Also there was difficulty in accessing the accessible entrance to the hotel on Leader Lane because the lift button did not work on the lower level when coming into the hotel - hotel staff were very slow in responding - partner had to go to the front desk to seek help.

The hotel is in a good location, and the staff competent The hotel is undergoing some renovations and the gantry that run vertically against the building was right against the window of my room and when construction started in the morning, and also on Sunday morning, the noise was not acceptable! It does seem that the rooms allocated for guests using your site, are the compromised rooms.

I loved the old world charm. It is so much nicer than modern hotels. I worked in downtown Toronto in the '70's and used to go the King Eddie to look at model sample clothing that was for sale in a room when the hotel was under construction. It is a fond memory and I wanted to stay, since I do not live in Toronto anymore. We had breakfast and tea at the hotel and it was very good.

The hotel was central to everything we wished to see while in Toronto. Staff was very friendly. We found the underground parking ouselves after a few trips around the block. More signage would have helped. Although there was a minibar there was no ice-bucket.

The employee at the desk upgraded us, even though we booked on line, because I misunderstood what the booking actually offered.

We loved our generously sized room with a great view of the city which was very comfortable! It would have been better to have closer access to an outdoor pool and the room service food menu could be improved.

A very friendly concierge and door man service. All necessary facilities are available and/or close by. Management tries to take advantage of their guest (providing rooms without windows, but with wardrobe beds and water droping from the sealing). Only after complaining a proper 4* service was delivered, but revealed that the management was aware of the condition of the room but just thought to give it a try. Very poor.

Lobby most impressive. Rooms are a very good size and that is due to being an older hotel. No coffee pots in the room and no coffee provided. Both are delivered to the room by special request. Also no ice machines on any floor and that too is delivered by special request. A bit of a tedious process for both.

I really enjoyed that the locations was close to everything we were planning on doing. The price was great and the concierge went above and beyond to help us out. They gave us two rooms that were like a suite so we went in one door with both our room numbers on it and than a hall way separated our 2 doors so it was very private.

Efficient, clean and well priced for a central location. Despite its many good points, it felt a strangely impersonal hotel.

Lovely large room, very clean. Elegant lobby, very helpful staff. In the heart of Old Town Toronto so it was easy to walk to all of the places - shopping and sites that we wanted to visit. I would stay here again. Parking was $40/day - very high price and we didn't use it. Also - charging for internet in the room. We didn't use it. that is a ridiculous practice for a high end hotel.

Location and room. They overbooked the night we arrived ; we were given a spare room(seriously). They never told us at first place. We had to fight to get something from them : this was outrageous. Finally, we received a suite the next day but still it was unnaceptable.
