Noisy on top floors below rooftop bar
Comfort and design of the rooms. Hugh class staff. Great location to visit old Montréal
Very expensive hotel No swimming pool
The hotel is in a beautiful building and very well situated for old Montreal. The staff are generally helpful and service excellent. The rooms are large and comfortable with wonderful bathrooms. The bistro bar serves excellent food.
Our room was to the back of the hotel and it was extremely noisy. We were frequently wakened in the middle of the night with what seemed to be disposal of bottles and rubbish - lots of clanking and banging. In the early hours of the morning the noise of what sounded like construction work was also a problem. The lift in our building seemed to be heavily used as a service lift and with some staff seeming to feel that guests using the lift were a bit of an inconvenience.
The staff was very knowledgable, personable and very helpful! The restuarant was very good, and so was the staff.
The hotel is very well situated in the old part of Montreal...a block from Notre Dame Basilica; a block from an entrance to the Underground; close to Rue St. Paul...great location. Room was very small but had a very comfortable bed and the bathroom was roomy, clean and well stocked. We had a walk in shower. Concierge and valet were very helpful.
Small things - there was a slat on the blinds which was broken and the frame on the art over the bed was peeling. Disappointed in that aspect.
Location! Wonderful service
Liked everything about the hotel.
Only improvement would have been a coffee maker in the room.
Quality of service, friendliness of staff was outstanding. Everyone we came in contact with including bellmen, front desk, wait staff in restaurants, housekeeping, were all as friendly and helpful as at any hotel I have ever stayed at. Location great. Quality and comfort of room outstanding.
High quality but imited restaurant/bar facilities. Since we were there during wedding season, one evening every food/beverage option in the hotel was closed for private party. So when we got back to the hotel in the evening, we could not even grab a snack or drink.
How the price of the room change every day without any basis, it seems it's the policy of booking.com
We were exposed to ear-piercing music from the Terrace until 3 am one night. It was impossible to sleep unless, like my wife, you slept on the bathroom floor with the door closed. It was a 5 star nightmare...
location great, we could walk everywhere and very close to the metro as well.
breakfast buffet was very limited (compared to similar price hotels) and the a la carte breakfast was slow to arrive
Our suite was beautiful, as were the rooms that our children had. We had a lovely experience staying there. The location was perfect!
The spa area was small. Much more like a small salon atmosphere, with higher prices.
Location n clean
Dance club by my window unable to sleep for 4 nights, hotel was aware of noise still charged top rate
Very comfy, huge bed Great restaurants/bar - lovely atmosphere and friendly staff
No kettle - tea/coffee facilities in room (not sure if this is typical of Canada?!)
The Hotel is perfectly positioned in the very heart of Old Montreal, we could see the Basilica of Notre Dame and Montreal's oldest building, the fort-like cloister of Saint Sulpice, from our window as well as the sparkling fountain dedicated to the founder of Montreal, Maisoneuve. The rich architecture is the perfect pairing for clean and modern luxury inside. Our room was very tall and full of natural light with exposed brick which was the perfect backdrop for the crisp white sheets and mahogany furniture that -though elegant- was never fussy. The chandelier with pinpoint dimmers was transitional and kept the room from getting too chichi, but every sense was delighted when we opened the door to classical music that was playing softly with only the slightest whisp of gentle wood and soap scents. All this was made even better when we discovered the chocolate turn-down service when we returned from dinner and a stroll. The hotel restaurants were delightful, from the rooftop terrace and its stunning views over the skyline, to the hip Suite 701 where delicious breakfast and a complimentary cocktail were served. The Japanese restaurant was exquisite in the way only a french culinary culture could present tasty and eye-pleasing Japanese cuisine. The rooftop terrace staff accommodated a table change overlooking the edge of the roof and then despite a beautiful crowd of young drinkers, took the time to happily write out for us the ingredients of a bar specialty drink: cracked black pepper, vodka and smashed strawberries with basil - a perfect sipper for Summer sky memories in Montreal. If you wish to dine elsewhere, you are literally in the middle of it all, take your pick, we also dined al fresco at La Jardin Nelson with live jazz in a happy fusion of Quebecois cheeses, music and romantic languages in a unique roofless venue we will not soon forget.
Location - 1 block from cathedral Oversize shower + big shower head on ceiling Ambience
The price - but we were last minute travelers (within 36 hours) and needed two rooms Breakfast not included (again, as last minutes travelers not surprised that this was not an option)
The location is fantastic. You can walk everywhere.
It is a bit pricey.
Close to Metro Central location in Old-downtown. Hard-loft feel in the rooms Amazing roof top patio
Beds were a little stiff. Television channels were mostly french. Lack of breakfast options.
The location is second to none, we were steps away from the water, restaurants, the old quarter, Chinatown, the Metro...everything you could need. The reception staff were courteous, professional, and very very prompt with requests. The facilities staff were very efficient, every time we returned, it felt like home.
The shower in our room--the floor wasn't sloped well and so the water leaked out onto the floor unless one of us stood outside before turning on the water and pushed a towel up against the bottom of the door to limit the flooding that would happen whenever we turned it on. Honestly, that was about the only thing I could think of and really it's just a renovation reccomendation.
The location and the preservation of the old style architecture. The terrace on the rooftop is also very nice.
I think it's a little overpriced for the size of the room, but it was the end of July so I guess everywhere was it.
The beds were very comfortable and the staff most helpful.
The area we were in was serviced by the elevator that was used by restaurant staff and outside people going to the rooftop terrace. It felt a little too accessible to non-guests.
Central location in Old Montreal. Great area for walking.
Marginal restaurants. Best to go outside of hotel for meals.
the staff was very friendly
a little expensive
