Great location. Friendly staff. Very nice restaurant at the hotel for dinner. Comfortable room.
Staff responded extra quickly to any request. When I arrived very frazzled from a difficult trip from US Iman at the Front Desk was wonderful. Service on the whole is excellent. Spa is great. Very good massage and hamman - just what was needed in frigid temperatures.Restaurant food in evening by the fireplace was excellent.
The bar-restaurant often had terrible music, all loud 90's pop! What is that about? The room decor needs some TLC and updating. During the two days I was there housekeeping hadnt arrived by 2pm . They came immediately when I called Front Desk though.
Modern but cozy. Friendly, helpful staff. Two restaurants onsite to choose from.
Free parking might have been nice, but not a deal breaker.
Had a wonderful time! The staff was incredibly helpful and the room was wonderful - wish we could have stayed longer!!
Great location for exploring old montreal Hotel quiet cosy and welcoming
We really enjoyed our time at Hotel Place D'Armes. It was clean, the staff were helpful and polite, the gym was modern and it had lots of equipment. The location couldn't have been better it was right in the plaza of Notre Dame Cathedral and a short stroll to many boutique restaurants and bars.
The first night my husband wasn't feeling well so we ordered room service. We ordered onion soup, beef burger and a chicken Caesar Salad. It was awful...the chicken was cooked the day before and the lettuce was dressed what seemed like hours before. The burger was clearly a frozen paty thrown onto a high grill and when served it was raw and the side of chips were cold and crinkled. The good thing was we sent it back and the staff apologized, offered us replacements and extras free of charge they also deducted what we didn't want replaced from the bill. When the salad returned it was fresh and tasted great.
- good location for scenic areas and public transport - door and reception staff very friendly and helpful - long breakfast time convenient
- left the room the first day for 7 hours, wasn't serviced by housekeeping until the end of the day when we were already back in the room - when booking the room it should be more clear that hot breakfasts are not included and the continental has limited selection - bed was a bit older and sunk a bit in the middle but comfortable - bathroom quite small and the toilet roll holder in the worst location - the shower door didn't close easily at all, difficult to open. - desperate need of bedside lamps - no tea/coffee in room
Hotel was beautiful, room was a 10, staff was superb, perfect location. Will definitely be back in the Summer.
Location, location, location.
Be careful of bed corners when walking around the room.
Too dark in rooms.
The hotel is located in Old Town and many sites and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Breakfast and wifi came with our room rate. All the members of the staff with whom we came into contact were friendly, attentive to our needs, and professional in their demeanor and service delivery. The room (junior suite) was large and clean, as was the bathroom.
The music in Suite 701 Lounge Restaurant was terrible. This is a classy restaurant, and good music should be played, like light jazz, show tunes, and music from the Great American Songbook.
Great staff, great location, historic
Bed sagged to the middle
location Staff Restaurant Room
Staff were extremely helpful and responsive. Bathroom smelled nice and was spotless. Great location. Free wifi worked! Welcome pastry was very good.
What sounded like water pressure noise, or maybe furnace noise, kept me up. In-room dining was expensive and portion (I got the yaki udon) was small.
the staff at this hotel were unusual in their efforts to make our stay outstanding and they achieved this. the rooms were very pleasant and well kept. The restaurant had excellent food and drinkand the service was impeccable. I would very much recomment this hotel to anyone wanting a hotel that is well located and attentive to every need of their guests. would definitely return and recommend
Good size room and bathroom, comfortable bed.
Noisy room, a little tired in the furnishings
The Roof Top Bar was a bonus
I reserved internet and showed the room grade with photos. Photo shows bathroom with bathtub and I considered the same but unfortunately only shower.
I loved everything. But a two night stay for 1400 dollars is a little ridiculous. (us dollars.)
Perfect location and beautiful room. Staff was very helpful when we had a last minute change in plans and had to leave early.
Great roof top bar, location is close to major sights and transport
Noisy on top floors below rooftop bar
Comfort and design of the rooms. Hugh class staff. Great location to visit old Montréal
Very expensive hotel No swimming pool
The hotel is in a beautiful building and very well situated for old Montreal. The staff are generally helpful and service excellent. The rooms are large and comfortable with wonderful bathrooms. The bistro bar serves excellent food.
Our room was to the back of the hotel and it was extremely noisy. We were frequently wakened in the middle of the night with what seemed to be disposal of bottles and rubbish - lots of clanking and banging. In the early hours of the morning the noise of what sounded like construction work was also a problem. The lift in our building seemed to be heavily used as a service lift and with some staff seeming to feel that guests using the lift were a bit of an inconvenience.
