The location is fantastic. You can walk everywhere.
It is a bit pricey.
Close to Metro Central location in Old-downtown. Hard-loft feel in the rooms Amazing roof top patio
Beds were a little stiff. Television channels were mostly french. Lack of breakfast options.
The location is second to none, we were steps away from the water, restaurants, the old quarter, Chinatown, the Metro...everything you could need. The reception staff were courteous, professional, and very very prompt with requests. The facilities staff were very efficient, every time we returned, it felt like home.
The shower in our room--the floor wasn't sloped well and so the water leaked out onto the floor unless one of us stood outside before turning on the water and pushed a towel up against the bottom of the door to limit the flooding that would happen whenever we turned it on. Honestly, that was about the only thing I could think of and really it's just a renovation reccomendation.
The location and the preservation of the old style architecture. The terrace on the rooftop is also very nice.
I think it's a little overpriced for the size of the room, but it was the end of July so I guess everywhere was it.
The beds were very comfortable and the staff most helpful.
The area we were in was serviced by the elevator that was used by restaurant staff and outside people going to the rooftop terrace. It felt a little too accessible to non-guests.
Central location in Old Montreal. Great area for walking.
Marginal restaurants. Best to go outside of hotel for meals.
the staff was very friendly
a little expensive
The music in the dining room in the evenings was terrible
The hotel was great! I just wish I never booked through Booking.com. Booking.com was and is a nightmare. Call the hotel directly.
Booking.com screwed up our reservations completely! It was a disaster! No.... am absolute disaster! The resrvations for my suite were NOT on file with the hotel. They only had the reservations for my guests! Not for me! And booking.com does not even understand how badly they screwed up. They did not and do not care at all!But that is because the people who respond by e-mail are morons, who send out stock responses. I will NEVER use Booking.com ever again.
Beautiful, great location.
Really loud music in the restaurant.
Noise from DJ in ground floor bar intrusive on 4th floor.during evening hours.
The interior design and furnishings in the hotel lobby, common areas and rooms are very well done. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We loved the mix of the old brick building with the modern furnishings. We also enjoyed a drink on the rooftop terrace which gave us a nice view of the city. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
Everything, decor, food location friendly and efficient staff
Wifi not available in bedroom
Good location. Stylish, comfortable room. Very comfortable bed and good bathroom.
Service was average. Staff in the bar and on the terrasse seemed disinterested - also disappointing that guests of the hotel don't take priority over non-residents on the best seats on the terrasse. Would rather have a nespresso machine in the room that the option to buy bottles of liquor.
Room was great. Loved the atmosphere.
Close to Old Montreal
I actually booked this for my parents who we're visiting from the Bahamas. They are retired and travel often. They spoke very highly about the service and food at the hotel and they had a beautiful lake view room. It got me thinking so I booked my husband and I in for early July.
Personal staff, déco, big, confortable and beautiful room, all was grate.
Hotel was excellent. And'green' with recycling bins in each room!
Location was great, staff was very helpful and my room was good.
The elevator to my room was near the club so that was annoying when the club was loud. Also the waiting area for the elevator was crowded. Not a big deal but still annoying.
Pretty much everything! Décor, the food, in the lounge/restaurant service, helpfulness to the non French speaking Americans! Linens!
The hotel was well run and each and every person on the staff, no matter what their position was courteous, friendly and professional. While the room was small (standard European size), the bathroom was huge and very clean. It rained the entire time we were in Montreal and the hotel gave out umbrellas to use. Place d'Armes is a wonderful experience all around!
Location, roof top terrace, great room
Had to pay for wifi which is a bit miserable when paying that much for a room. If they can fix that then its faultless
