Score from 729 reviews Very good
Near a variety of interesting attractions and nestled on the corner of Quebec's only 2 pedestrian streets, this hotel offers comfortable guest rooms and a delicious on-site restaurant.
Score from 342 reviews Wonderful
I enjoyed the small hotel's very posh decor, the restaurant and bar were well priced and delicious. I wished I visited in the summer because there was so much to see, but in -6 degrees, I spent most of my time inside. And even then, I felt like I experienced true Quebec.
The shower didn't drain well, but other than that, it was absolutely lovely.
Large tv. Good kitchen. Though could benefit from stronger hood to avoid smells after cook. Very quiet. Close the the cute Champlain street with lots of restaurant.
small bathroom with very small toilette really not comfortable. Location is nice but a stretch far from decent supermarket, 15 to 20 minutes walk. Which is not very convenient for an apartment hotel when you don't have a car.
The hotel staff made us feel like family. The facilities were stunning and the fine restaurant attached ... Le Quai 19 was the best meal we have ever had! The service was impecible.
There was nothing we didn't like. Other reviews suggested no groceries close by and parking was an issue. Just ask the front desk for anything...we found a grocery and liquor store within walking distance and we chose not to rent a car! Actually made the experience better since the streets of Old Quebec are narrow and cabs were cheap.
-location -modern -great amenities -friendly and helpful staff
-bed was a little uncomfortable and squeaky but not the end of the world
Large suite worked well for a family.
The bed was way too soft. The hair dryer wasn't powerful enough. The room had a strange smell. You need real room service - not where I have to come down to the restaurants and get take-out.
Friendly and helpful staff at front desk. Nice bar with friendly service. Comfortable bed though small ( single).
Very small room and bed. No drawer space provided at all for clothes. Housekeeping never washed any of the used utensils we left in the sink. Restaurant was not open for all of our stay.
The suite was quite spacious. Great kitchen area. The location awesome. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel has a delicious breakfast. Parking right in front. Good quality Wi-Fi.
No hooks in bathroom.
Staff were extremely helpful -- even scraped my windshield after a freezing rain storm turned it into a sheet of ice!
Some of the gym equipment (bikes) is in pretty rough shape.
The hotel was in a perfect location, walking distance to the historic parts of town, just around the corner from restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. The suite (a pretty big studio with a kitchenette) was a great size for my husband and I. The staff was really nice and it was great having both a restaurant and bar with food downstairs. I would definitely stay here again if they update the machines in the gym.
I wasn't informed of the additional parking rate until check-out. The gym was really outdated and the treadmill was broken, but overall it was a great value for the price.
The location and convenience of the studio apartment
The superior suite made our stay very comfortable, especially with two young children. We didn't feel as though we were in a hotel. The kitchen gave us flexibility for our meals and made the trip a little more affordable. We could walk anywhere in the old city from the Hotel. The location made arriving and leaving by car very easy.
It would have been nice to have a few hooks for the towels in the bathroom. A door on the bedroom would have made bedtime for the children a little easier as well.
Excellent location but..
Snow trucks in the road for most part of the night. They should have given me another room first.
We enjoyed original elements of structure of the room interior, great views from the windows, cleanliness of the room and great location of the hotel. Good buy if you travel with kids.
We wished breakfast was included in stay. We had small children and it was inconvenient to find place for breakfast in the morning.
I loved the old building charm and the simplicity of the room. The bed was comfortable and the kitchenette had what we needed.
The bed was suppose to be a king size and was a double. The wifi wasn't great. The plug outlets we're no good, all plugs kept falling out. There isn't any recycling(of paper).
breakfest at quai 19
I loved the decor of our room. It was comfortable and clean. The stone wall gave it a historic feel.
I wish that I was offered the option of adding breakfast to the room package.
location is wonderful, great restaurant with good prix fixe meal
We stayed at the Port Royal on a quick overnight stopover coming home from Ottawa. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was small but very cozy and I loved the combination of modernity and charm with the brick walls and chic accents. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
kitchen location parking
bedding was not goog
Great location and walking distance to many sights in Quebec City. Close to cruise terminal.
This hotel only has one elevator and it is small. Very hard to maneuver in and out of if you are travelling with many bags. That may be an issue for older travelers. And with one elevator, you may be waiting to get up or down, especially if hotel is busy. Also, Housekeeping needs to be more detailed when preparing the rooms, as there were many "dust bunnies" on the wood floor in our room and some surfaces that had accumulation of dust on them. I would fault the Head of Housekeeping for not making sure that standards are being maintained. Minor gripes, but they wouldn't keep me from using this hotel again.
Close proximity to Old Town. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see in our short time there. Staff very helpful and most spoke English which was a bonus. Car park on site.
As we were sailing on a cruise ship the location was great as we could walk to the terminal.
We arrived late and my brain was addled but I was still able to see that we were booked into the wrong style of room. It took forever for me to convince the clerk and get her to change it. The fact that we were late meant we had gone a long time without a meal and there was nothing open in the neighborhood. The clerk got the on site kitchen to fix us something. It was barely edible and added and extra $50 (!) to our bill.
We spent 2 night here prior to boarding our cruise ship. It was a short walk! The hotel is charming in a restored building. The restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner. It was a short walk to the vernicular to Old Quebec..and we walked down.
Our room was very small.
Good location very nice shower.
The bed was very soft and loud. The fan is the bathroom had no cover and did not work.
I loved our suite. The way it was decorated and the walls and floors as to the materials that were showing.
I was totally pleased.
