Score from 281 reviews Wonderful
Excellent location: within walking distance of old Montreal, shopping areas, Mount Royal. Lots of bars and restaurants very close to the hotel.
The hotel is located in a very busy street, especially at night. The rooms located on the street side are quite noisy.
The location was excellent. It was half a block from the subway station where two main lines meet, next to coffee shops, restaurants, atm, convenience store, and one block up from St. Catherine's St. The staff were wonderfully nice. The bistro of the hotel located downstairs was very good.
I wish the staff had been present a bit more at reception to help answer questions. One example, we could not find anyone or any info posted that let us know when to check out.
Location convenient and close to everything. Excellent staff. The queen room was very comfortable and spacious. Best place I've ever stayed in many visits to this city.
Albert and Amira were super helpful and the entire stay was incredible! Will certainly come back again. Loved every second of it.
Very comfortable room, lovely bathroom. Close to everything, lots of style and atmosphere. The fact that the hotel is right onSt. Denis means it is in a busy area. Our bedroom was perfectly quiet, but on the terrace there was a lot of ambient noise from the street and neighbouring property. But, I have to emphasize that the whole fun of being there is the fact that this is a vibrant and busy street, and you are in the middle of the action! My husband noted that there most of the people walking along the street were engaged with their surroundings as opposed to their devices. That says a lot about the neighbourhood. We'll definitely return!
cleanliness location very quiet despite the location
rooms a little bit small the hotel's restaurant is not available from around 10pm to 09am
The owner/ manager? Was wonderfully friendly and eager to be helpful in every way. Thank you! The location was colourful and lively and 100% safe feeling. The suite was nicely decorated. The shower was the best I've ever had. Very handy to transport.
Poly/cotton sheets and a plastic mattress cover made for a sweaty and noisy bed. The wi-fi was not completely reliable.
Hotel is located in a nice and lively street. Great place. Happy to have stayed there.
Everything! Especially restaurants and pubs in Latin quarter / local neighborhood, and proximity to the old city along the river.
Parking was not an exact process but overall quite convenient with easygoing and friendly parking staff 24/7.
Great location Albert the owner could not be more helpful and concerned about your comfort
Location, cleanliness and the extremely helpful and kind staff. Located one block away from a big metro station, connecting two lines. Lots of restaurants in the same street. Very quiet hotel.
Everything was great.
- excellent use of space - very clean - GREAT showers (high water pressure) - superb location - extremely friendly and accommodating staff
- the coffee made in the little coffee machine in the room didn't work right (overflowed in the cup and spilled everywhere)
+ classy furnishing + well-equipped bathroom + BIG bed + coffee express + free extras (2 bottles of mineral water, chocolate) + close distance to one of the most beautiful and stylish streets in Montreal (lots of good restaurants and pubs in the closest possible neighbourhood) + 2 mins to Métro station
- fickle internet connection (Wi-Fi tends to crash unexpectedly) - no adapters for European-type plugs in default equipement (but the hotel management is wont to provide them on demand)
Right in the middle of all the restaurants and yet felt safe and was comfortable and quiet. Easy to get to via the metro. Very comfortable bed. Excellent shower/ bathroom. I was impressed with the layout of the room, it was small but functional. Nice coffee maker!
No Wifi and TV reception in the morning, not a big deal since we needed to leave early anyway.
Great buzz to location , the area is alive with restaurants bars and coffee shops. Our room was very comfortable and quiet yet we walked out onto a really lively city street. Very friendly and helpful manager ? Owner.
Just one small thing, in the particular room we stayed in there was a step down a few feet from the entrance beyond the bathroom entrance , so a bit dodgy for entering room at night or trips to bathroom during night. Don't think any of the other rooms have this feature. Needed to be flagged better,it may be sorted by now as I drew it to attention of manager / owner?and he was in process of getting a strip of lights for it. Still loved the room !!
Spotless, spacious, amazing location in the heart of the Latin square. Minutes from the old town of Montreal. Lots of pubs and bars in the area.
The place doesn't have an elevator. Still, highly recommended.
Well appointed rooms. Superb hospitality. Courteous, well trained cleaning staff. Owner going the extra step to ensure his guests are completely satisfied.

if we brag too much we won't be able to get a reservation!
Helpful and friendly staff. Had a top floor room with a terrace. Everything was clean and well maintained. Fridge also. Best value for money. Roomy and lovely furniture. Great part of town. Lots of places to eat. Next to bus stops and metro.
Lots of homeless people begging in the area. Parts of the street were dirty.
The location of the hotel was close to the Metro. There were several restaurants and bars close by. The rooms were clean and nice and the bathrooms were great. The manager of the hotel was very helpful.
St Denis is on a main street that was closed to traffic on both weeks that I was there for parties. This made getting to and from the hotel a little difficult. Of course the noise level was also elevated during these times.
Perfect size and location; with a manager who pays attention!
The hotel was in a good spot, close to everything. We got upgraded to a suite free of charge, and there were lots of little perks to having the suite like a quiet sitting room, large shower, huge bay windows with a balcony.
It was way too loud at night on the first night, due to a festival right in front of the hotel. We wanted to ask for another room it was so bad. But like my boyfriend said, the music and noise stopped just past midnight. We also ordered in food, and needed plates and cutlery, but there was no staff on the Sunday at 5pm. We ended up eating our salad with our fingers... When we came back to our room later on, the staff would not replace our robes. Not sure why.
The service person, Albert, was outstanding with all his recommendations and out-of-the-way services - along with speaking excellant Parisian French.
I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking. Oh yeah! The bathroom handbowl had a glass shelf protruding over the bowl about 14-16" above the top of the bowl. To splash my face with water from the bowl while shaving, my forehead went "KLUNK" on the glass shelf a couple of times. So I developed a new MST (Montreal Shaving Technique) which, although successful, was cumbersome and time consuming and which I immediately forgot when I got home.
Close to metro, room spacious.
Need to walk up flight of stairs to entrance
