Comfortable city center hotel is ideal for sightseeing. Belong to a great restaurant, do not miss it!
Located on a relatively quiet street near the harbor and the public market, easy walking distance to excellent restaurants and outside cafes, the Museum de la Civilisation, and the Furnicular that takes you to the Upper Town. Hotel is clean, comfortable, priced very reasonably, and the staff is helpful and cheerful. Includes a good breakfast at the adjoining bistro. The
Well-located boutique-style hotel. Convenient parking.
Lovely old hotel, close to the port and walking distance to the old town. Parking is not provided but there s a very convenient parking lot close by - we parked the car and walked everywhere.
Perfect situation to visit most of the sites by foot. Cosy Restaurant attached for breakfast and dinner. "Vieux Port" just across the road. Parking just across the road. Good size of the room und modern bathroom.
The dark desing of the rooms wasn't our taste. Noisy aircondo.
Location is good because it is near old city and central station. Everything is good without malfunction of coffee machine.
The breakfast is great. The mushroom omlette was delicious. The room was clean and perfect for our needs. Restaurants near by. Great location if you don't mind a little walk. Farmer's market across the street. Very close to the train station, which is why we chose it.
Free breakfast was decent.
Other guests were quite noisy.
this hotel was a typical French property in Canada! staff were really friendly and helpful, had a good choice for breakfast in a lovely French style breakfast room which was also open for dinner in the evening Bedroom was comfortable with a nice modern bathroom and close to the main attractions of Quebec.
Room was great. Enjoyed the breakfast. Location is good.
Location is ideal for someone taking the train (< 5 mins walking distance) Location is ideal for exploring Old Montreal (abutting perimeter) Great access point for exploring the region Tasty brekkie (choice from a set of meals, or voucher is good for $8 credit against anything on menu) Helpful staff (I had some purchased local art accepted on my behalf with minimal fuss)
The view (gas station) Slightly unknown to taxis (but they have biz cards and its across from the farmer's market so landmarks work)
Location of the hotel just across from the market and right on the edge of the old city shops/restaurants etc Hotel didn't look great but the room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable which is all we ever ask. Could easilly have spent a few more days in Quebec exploring.
The junior suite was updated and spacious. The am desk clerk was very nice and helpful. The attached restaurant had great choices for the included breakfast. The staff at the restaurant was wonderful. I liked that the location was close to the old city but not in it. We could walk up the hill and enjoy but then come back to a little less bustle.
Somehow the price was a lot more expensive than I thought it would be. Still looking into that. Although I liked the location it was very noisy. This hotel is located at the intersection of very busy streets which made the car noise very annoying until about 2am so choose your room carefully. The pm desk clerk did not seem to like Americans much and so he was not very helpful. We left 2 days early.
Very handy to the train station; quiet; nice bathroom and furnishings. Clean.
Restaurant closed on Mondays; therefore, no room service - no food at all, in fact. ;b'fast starts late; first train to Montreal is 7.45 - had to miss b'fast. Reception closed when I had to leave in the morning. For $200 a night, I expect some service.
Comfortable bed and fantastic shower/bath. Good location.
Room was dark. Ceiling and several walls are painted very dark colours. Very poor choice of lighting- impossible to read in bed with those "headlights" by the bed. It was really depressing to spend any time inside the room. No mirrors in the room (only one in the bathroom). Hard to move around in the room (a clumsy dresser in the way). Noisy staff talking very loudly at 8 a.m. on holiday woke us up (Stopped when we got out of the room and asked them to though). The first day, it took forever to be served breakfast as there was only one guy serving more than 15 people.
We prefer staying in lowertown as it's away from the hustle and bustle but would recommend other properties ahead of this particular one due to the shortcomings identified.
The location was noisy as cars and buses are going uphill. The rooms were okay but not much space to hang your clothes and rather sparse. No full length mirror. It was lacking in some key ways and we found it over-priced for the product.
Great location with the right balance of modern and historic
It was clean, modern (though the building was older) and the service was friendly and the hotel was quiet and very well situated in the lower part of town near the bus and train (5 minute walk - maximum!) large windows. Quick 5-10 minute walk up the hill to the upper city. The breakfast was nice. Nice quite restaurant with a nice assortment of breakfasts. You can eat there or even take it on the go... In spite of any comments that were negative, they really went out of their way and were eager to help with any issues that I had (giving me a power strip and even changing my room to a larger one), always friendly and with a smile. I do recommend this hotel. This was my second stay at this hotel.
The rooms are a bit dim - not enough lighting to make them bright at night. They also lack electrical outlets. There were no outlets next the bed and only one that was under the desk. With technology, tablets, phones, computers more outlets near the desk and bed would be great. The lighting access from the bed side (at night) there were not always lamps on either or both sides of the beds (I stayed here a few times) Some rooms are king, some queen. One queen room was so small that you could practically open the door from the bed side. Request a King room or make sure they give you a larger queen room. The breakfast starts 7:30 during the week which is not early enough if you are an early riser or have to get an early start to your day.
Quaintness of building. So close to Via train station. Not in the hub of activity but close enough. Bus just outside door or able to walk not to far to get to centre of city.
Within 5 min walking distance from the VIA train station, at the foot of the hill where Old Quebec lies and therefore an easy walk on flat terrain from the train station to the hotel.
The room has been remodeling so the bed is very comfortable and bathroom is very clean. The restaurant located downstairs has excellent breakfast. Breakfast is included in my package and the breakfast was good. ,
Caroline was very helpful. She arranged a tour within 30 minutes of our arrival. It was within easy reach of the bus station. There was a secure left luggage room. On the whole very good.
The immediate area was not very tidy and the neighbourhood seemed a bit rough. We were fine but first impressions were not good.
it was so easy to walk anywhere from the location of the hotel, so close to everything
Our room could have been brighter. There was not enough lighting particularly with the dark walls
Nice hotel in convenient location.
Breakfast choice not going good. You have to pay extra if you want anything other than the combos offered.
black walls in room lighting poor
