ideally located in Old Montreal, friendly staff, easy to take breakfast in a bar with real Canadians.
we had an issue with a window, the staff changed the room immediately. nothing to complain
High end hotel.. What's with the Murphy beds??? Very uncomfortable. The room was very big there wacko need to save space with a Murphy bed. Invest in box springs and mattresses please
Lovely experience from start to finish. To begin with they upgraded our reservation to a gimormous suite so two adults, one teenagers and a small dog had plenty of room. Good bed and nice linens. A fireplace. Clean. Responsive and courteous service. And exquisite location. Everything you would want in a stay. Would go again in a flash.
The restaurant was less than adequate although room service was great.
We were surprised to find out that we could not order breakfast the night before. Restaurant staff do not offer this service. We were disappointed but I decided to call the Concierge to see if there was anything the hotel staff could do. They were courteous and responsive; they were to leave a note for the morning Concierge and would ensure our breakfast was ordered at 0630 and delivered at 0930! They were stellar!
exceptionally helpful front desk staff large suite-sized room with kitchen facilities great location comfortable bed
The location, the room size, cleanliness and friendliness of staff was awesome.
The parking was super expensive. I have traveled a lot and it was my first time paying this much. The only other complain I have is that we were supposed to check out at 12, but one of the staff was checking if we were gone every half an hour from 10 to make sure we were gone exactly by 12 which was annoying.
the hotel had a lovely scent as you entered that was very pretty and welcoming. It was also decorated for Christmas in a very creative chic manner. The staff were very informative, prompt and helpful, particularly the foodie concierge! The suite was spectacular with all amenities and a lot of storage options. All in all a lovely Montreal experience.
the beautiful room, the comfort, the location.
Everything. But especially, and in no particular order, the staff, the fireplace, the patio, the cleanliness, the peacefulness, the espresso machine, the bath products!, the tub, the shower, the incredible bed and pillows, the space. this is now my hotel of record for all my trips to la belle ville of montreal.
The suite was the most beautiful I have ever stayed in. The kitchen was supplied with everything. The living room area was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was very large and beautiful.
I really have to search for these... But we couldn't figure out how to turn on the fireplace and the bed could have been a bit more comfortable. That didn't diminish the joy of our stay. There could have been an option for more lighting to put on makeup.
Hotel charm, location.
The breakfast service was appalling. Staff more interested in socializing amongst themselves than paying attention to the few guests in the dining room. Guests at several tables complained, with little improvement.
Fireplace in the room, modern design, view of Montreal old and new from the balcony...what more could you ask for?
The only thing is that there was no bathtub in the room and only a small stand up shower. A very elegant well designed small stand up shower...but still nothing beats relaxed with a glass of wine in a comfy tub with bubbles.
Room facing main street of Vieux Port, can hear some music thumping and people passing through late at night.
- Welcoming staff - Convenience of location to attractions - Bathroom (love the bath-tub!) - Size of suite
I stay in a lot of hotels and this is among the best. What I love is the attention to details-nespresso machine with actual milk and cream in the bar fridge (not those awful creamer substitute packages); actual real wine glasses (as opposed to those horrid glasses you find at the dollar store that were popular in the 80s); working fireplace; VIP tickets to the museum; pre-email list of best restaurants in the area; they have literally thought of EVERYTHING...I ordered some extra linens and they arrived within minutes; no waiting. The TV screen is personalized with your name. Great shower too and always QUIET. This is the 2nd time my mom and I have come to celebrate our birthdays. We are thinking to make it an annual occurrence and include St. Sulpice as our hotel.
Beds very comfortable. Staff very pleasant & professional. Location is great. Hotel is very nice looking. Most importantly the staff is very pleasant, helpful & welcoming, and the reason we will make return visits. Overall we really like this hotel (we are very picky! We don't like grumpy staff & will avoid hotels if we encounter them - no matter how nice the hotel)
Very strong smell of floor cleaner when entering hotel & in bar area (this was the first time we noticed that smell as it wasn't there on previous stays). No snacks in mini fridge - I really wanted a snack. Not a big fan of see through bathroom wall, and shower water pressure comes out like a sprinkle (not very satisfying).
Size of room and the amenities within. Murphy bed was very comfortable and bathroom spacious. Good water heat and pressure. Nice lobby and attentive doormen. Great location.
Breakfast not very good. Some noise from street but didn't bother us.
The weather didn't cooperate
The hotel lobby was nice, the room spacious and comfortable. The location was perfectly situated for visiting all areas of interest in the city.
Murphy beds are not what we would consider a pleasant nor comfortable arrangement and we were never informed of the set up. When inquired, the explanation by staff was dismissive.
loved the decor and service food was good and a good value the location was amazing, close to restaurants and attractions ,
hard to think of anything couldn't be much better
-location, location, location -early check-in offered graciously -oversized accommodation -Concierge and Front Desk personal
-wedding in space off main lobby; music thumped until 3am; our room was on 3rd floor; it did not appear as though anything was done to squelch this -more thought should have been given/paid to other guests; music should have had cutoff time of midnight
The hotel has a very cool but friendly vibe. Newspapers were available daily. The lounge was great for after dinner desserts, coffee, or drinks. The location in old town is excellent.
The Saint-Sulpice Hotel is a excellent hotel well located in the historic old part of Montreal. There are numerous restaurants, pubs, shops and art galleries in close walking distance to the hotel. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and a good place to relax.
There is not much not to like about this hotel.
Design Facilities-dining, garden, concierge, etc. Location and shopping
the shower wall which lit up when trying to sleep-no natural light no bedside tables and position of bed
After a long day attending a trade show, this was such a relaxing retreat. Location is the best and staff was very friendly.
