The Listel Hotel Whistler    

The bistro was awesome. Sensational food & delightful staff

The room was so small& pokey. The old bath was such a hazard when climbing in for a shower. Just the worst room I could imagine

We enjoyed the quiet and comfort of our room and the helpful staff

They take a $100 charge against the credit card relative to charges in the hotel. However on checkout they hold back the reversal on that set aside until housekeeping sees that there is no damage . This is very sneaky.If you are going to take a damage deposit it should be stated up front and then customers can decide whether or not to make the booking . The problem arises because recently a rental company was illegally charging damage charges on rentals . it might be very tempting to try to keep the money.

The front desk clerk offered an upgrade and valet parking. Excellent service.

We stayed here in April of 2013. The room itself was comfortable enough. We had a king sized room that overlooked the back alley - not a great view, but then again you would never book this hotel if you were looking for a view. It is a little off the beaten track, but easy walking distance to the heart of the village. No ski in/ski out, but we were not there to ski so it made no difference to us.

There was a continental breakfast consisting of doughy muffins, toast, cereals, frozen toaster waffles, overcooked hard boiled eggs and packaged oatmeal. The room were breakfast was provided looked much like a glorified store room with a mish mash of extra tables from the restaurant, bar tables and stools, couches and even an actual bar that some people managed to sit at to eat breakfast. There were crates stacked against the walls and even some ski stored in here. Really felt like I was eating in a store room. I guess their mentality is that it is free so no real need to make it pretty..... All in all, we were satisfied. But it truly is only a 3 star property that makes no effort to be more.

Bathroom decor perhaps a little dated

arrangements, not food, for breakfast were poor. In same size room, careful thought about how to arrange layout could have given significant improvements. Also coffee extremely weak and watery.

continental breakfast - really limited, only cold food, not too many choices, services - asked 3 times for simple repair at our room..... only small whirpool at really small room, poorly ventilated, swimming pool doesn't exist anymore housekeeping generaly no good

I would have preferred breakfast to be of a higher standard and being served in a nicer area.

When something had been done incorrectly regarding our room it was fixed right away.

Being on the first floor was awful, the people above us would be banging around at 7am. Waking both of us up each morning we were there.

King bed was crammmed into a tiny room without any space between. bed side table had to be turned sideways to fit next to the bed. heater was very sensative and kept turning off in the middle if the night! perhaps linked to motion sensors in the room!

I literally just crawled out of bed to write this review. The workers at this hotel should be ashamed of themselves. They charged us $75 for throw up on a sheet which they said was ruined... How is it possible to ruin a sheet with throw up? And if so, why were we not given the sheet to keep (so we could get it off) and only told about the extra charge 2 days later? Also, with this being said. The room that day when the sheet was taken during "cleaning" was absolutely no better than it was when we left. It's as if the cleaner came in, took the dirty sheet, then left and slapped us with a $75 charge. I was also told that a friend of mine was charged $150 for having a "messy room" since when does it cost $150 to clean a room? The Listel knew that us Americans were going to wake up in the morning hungover (it was whistler college weekend) and would just want to leave and pay the charge. We have little authority to contact the police because we're foreigners to Canada and we would prefer not to get involved with foreign police which the Listel knows. They took advantage of us and they struck it rich. I also know people that were kicked out of their room at 2:30 am for having 2 people over capacity. Yes this is against the rules, but how does a human being kick out someone into the freezing cold at 2:30 am when they were not even being loud? They should have charged the room for the extra people and let them go to sleep. They were very lucky that the delta had a mere couple of rooms left. I got in a very big argument with the clerks in the morning (quiet frankly I will admit I was being rude, with good reason in my opinion) and one of the clerks got in an argument with me, making faces, calling me names... Hahahah I just laughed thinking about it because they are a whistler village hotel not a high school. Anyways I am absolutely disgusted but this will not deter me from using booking.
