Clean, quiet, comfortable and wonderful home-cooked breakfast plus the warm hospitality of hosts Parker and Suzanne and sharing friendship at breakfast with fellow travellers made this a memorable stay. Next door to the Louisbourg Playhouse was a bonus. Having my picture taken with Daphne was an unexpected and special bonus - made my day, and hers too I think ... Neil
great location, nice and clean, great bed and food
Great breakfast Good location Friendly host
At 6AM our upstairs person decided to get up ,shower and make lots of noise
My husband and I loved our stay at the Louisbourg Inn. The breakfasts and service were excellent. One of the mornings we had to head out early for one of our outings which met missing breakfast. A travel breakfast which consisted of freshly baked scones and wonderful fresh coffee was ready for us to take along on our trip. What a treat that was. We highly recommend this inn. Many thanks to Parker the Innkeeper and to his staff .
This hotel is more like a bed and breakfast and the breakfast was home cooked and gourmet.
We had to carry luggage up alot of outdoor stairs to get to our room. It was awkward eating breakfast in silence with other guests. Some music in the background might have helped.
From the moment we entered we were made to feel at home. The room and bathroom were clean and well equipped. The location was very central but quiet. The breakfast of freshly baked fruit and cheese scones followed by fresh fruit filled English style pancakes will long remain as a highlight.
The owners have put alot of effort into welcoming all guests into their cosy home. They can take pride in its comfort and cleanliness.
There was only one choice (which varied daily) for a hot breakfast however it was delicious (in my opinion)
Very congenial hosts, well done decor, excellent breakfast.
Facilities were great
I phoned at 5:45 saying I would be about an hour late. Told him that we had been on the road for 12 hours and that we were stopping for dinner in North Sydny. I expected that he would say no problems instead he said He had a 12 hr day as well and was planning to have dinner with his wife. He suggested I find another B & B to stay at. He eventually agreed to let me stay.
Loved the accommodation. Very helpful and friendly hosts. Would return in a heartbeat and hope to do so in the future. So clean and the breakfast was just perfect.
We had the most beautiful room in a house filled with beautiful rooms. the breakfasts were to die for.
3rd floor walk up.
Very gracious hosts. Breakfast was very nice. Located right next door to the Louisbourg Playhouse and very close to Louisbourg Fort.
The Inn is older and therefore no central air-conditioning and no window a/c units, however fans were provided.
Everything was great. Location, friendliness, local recommendations, breakfast
Location was great as was the breakfast.
Could use a little sprucing up. The Inn is a little tired.
It is great site, by the wharf and in the town of Louisbourg
If your only goal for the day is to arrive in Louisbourg and check-in, then this place is right for you as the check-in times are restricted to 2-6 pm. If you prefer enjoying all that a city has to offer, or travel into that city to stay the night and enjoy the city the next day, look for a place that has staff onsite past 8:30 pm when they lock their doors... I'm still not sure what would happen if their was a toilet repair or another issue after 8:30 pm. So please plan all emergencies :)
Nice pretty Inn. Room very clean comfortable. Convenient location to see Historical Site of Louisbourg.
Having to lug luggage etc up OUTSIDE of building up long long staircases. Foggy rainy . quite the norm for this region apparently. Difficult to climb outside stairs in the rain. Proprietor seems to want to keep pristine look of inn without any scuffs on wallpaper etc.
Very nice rooms and very nice people.
We arrived when a storm seemed imminent but the inn was well prepared and we enjoyed the local music instead.
Breakfast was excellent and staff were great.
Nice size room with full bath. Homey touches. Friendly innkeeper.
Limited time for breakfast service.
Bed was too soft.
Close to restaurants.
Convenient location, either for the seaside trail or the Louisbourg fortress, helpful staff, and decent breakfast (though not variable)
beautifully modernized, clean, historic home. good view of Louisbourg harbour from upper floors. excellent breakfast menu. convenient to historic french fortress. ample guest parking.
may be a problem persons for whom stairs are an issue
