Fantastic room, beautifully furnished. Great location, breakfast was delicious!
Well worth the money and Parker was an very good host and recommended the local play house entertainment.
Everything! Room was clean and up to date. Parker was most helpful in helping us to our room, and directing is to a great place for dinner. Very friendly and delicious breakfast.
The house has great architectural style with both stair and deck access! The host was very helpful in telling us the perfect places to go to suit our eating and snorkling and cultural entertainment needs!
I can not say enough good things about this B&B. It was one of the best ever. Our room (Matthews) was huge and took up the entire third floor. The bathroom was also huge. It was beautifully decorated and there was a cute alcove in which to sit and read or just look out over the harbor at the fortress in the distance. We had a small deck from which we could look at the harbor and watch the sunset. The breakfasts were also great. One day we had popovers filled with delicious peaches and the next day we had strata. The pastries were also wonderful. It is conveniently located near restaurants and there is plenty of parking.
The only mildly negative thing is that you had to go to breakfast in a sister B&B two blocks away. But this wasn't really much of an inconvenience.
Host Location Rooms
The bed was a little uncomfortable. More to do with what i'm used to rather than mattres quality.
Great room, great breakfast, clean, quiet.
The mattress was too soft and you rolled to the middle, my only complaint.
Comfortable room with private entrance.
Office was locked when we arrived to check-in at 3:30. Owner had gone to run an errand. There was no note left or apology when he returned.
The staff went above and beyond in this charming old house in an excellent location. The modern amenities (TV, WiFi, Bed and bathroom) were all very good.
I had no problems but don't expect things to be different from the way they are described online. Yes breakfast is a short walk outside and old rooms are different from new rooms. I enjoyed it all.
Quiet, relaxing and delightful breakfast. A wonderful B&B. Highly recommend.
The inn was beautiful, frendly staff.
Proprietor is a most personable chap who makes truly excellent breakfasts.
Having to wait for table at his second property. Would be better if he issued time.
Very unique home. The owners are very friendly and honest (not to mention accommodating). The breakfast may be in a different building but it is only 2 (two) minutes away (by foot). And the breakfast was tasty too. Thumbs up to the owners.
The puzzle was missing a piece. :)
Lovely room, friendly reception, convenient walking distance to restaurants and theater. Breakfast was a very short walk away and was very delicious and served with flair.
No complaints at all.
The room was large, clean, light, and uncluttered. We appreciated the wood floor rather than carpet. The bathroom was well done and immaculate. The hosts were warm and engaging. The breakfast, prepared by Parker, was absolutely delicious and beautifully served with nice strong coffee. The dining room had small tables so you could talk to other guests or have a more private breakfast.
The location was great, and parking onsite. The room was light and airy, and we had a private balcony. The front gardens were lovely.
We had an antique bed, and it was rather high for me. A step would've helped. I also was surprised that breakfast was down the street.
Everything. The owner is charming and friendly. Our room, very large in the attic, was spotless, comfortable and charming. The very large bathroom was modern. The breakfast cooked as needed. Thoroughly to be recommended.
Everything, was an excellent place to be!
If I have to chose something it would be the travel to another B&B for breakfast, but I am not complaining, the breakfast was excellent!
Delicious and interesting breakfasts, beautifully presented. A new treat every day! Friendly and helpful owner and staff Great view of the harbor from our room Very comfortable bed
No complaints at all. Everything first rate.
The comfortable bed and bedding and a wonderful bathroom on suite
We liked the location, the history of yhe place, the private entrance, the balcony. The breakfast was in a different location but was delicious so the short walk was no problem.
The fog!! But we realize the owners of the B&B had no control over that!
Incredibly solid house despite its age (we were there during the hurricane winds), very quiet, owner Parker is very lovely and the whole place was very clean. We even had a king sized bed and our own balcony and entrance!
For our breakfast we had to go to another location down the street. A bit of an inconvenience but once we tasted it, it was worth it!
The best breakfast in Cape Breton!
Not the b&b's fault, but there are few places to have a good meal in Louisburg
Beautiful house and furnishings. Parker is a wonderful host and cook!
