Score from 107 reviews Wonderful
It's a nice location to walk around, house itself was quite nice. Food was alright, although the restraunt closes super early. Staff was friendly although they were a bit busy (can't fault them for that!)
Their wifi was terrible. Reception was alright but I think there's a fundamental problem with how they have it setup, their DCHP server would never hand out addresses and you can't use static IPs...
Room was spacious and very comfortable, and the bathroom was also roomy, modern and very clean. Luckily I always bring my own hair dryer as there was none provided. The staff in the dining room were very pleasant and the meals were nice 'n tasty!!
The only thing that annoyed us was the fact that the floors were thin, i.e. We could hear a gentleman's loud voice chatting away for an hour the evening we arrived. We were on the second floor and he was in the room below us. Could hear everything he was saying so we has to turn up the volume of the TV. :-(
The old world charm of the suite, privacy and central location to good seafood restaurants.
We had room number 2 very nice, tastefully done in the Victorian mode, the bed was comfortable.ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, good food, overall an enjoyable stay.
If the room had a frig our stay would have been perfect.
Charming place to stay near the Cabot Trail. Room was clean and comfortable.
Difficult to get large luggage in and out if staying on the second floor as there are no ramps or elevators only stairs.
Food was only average
Furnishings inferior quality. Rooms did not have coffee available. Comparatively priced accommodations offer breakfast.
Location was excellent. We parked the car and walked everywhere.
We put four adults in the room. It was a bit tight.
The service was prompt when we arrived and we were checked in quickly, however it seemed a bit odd that an inn of this size would use one main desk to pay, check in/out and also act as the cash for the restaurant. If it had been an earlier time of day or busier time of year, this would have be quite a long wait. The room was well appointed. Staff was friendly.
The carpets are in desperate need of replacement, they made what could have been a cheery room into a rather dull somewhat musty one (we opened windows and it improved) and there were very few extra's in the room. We traveled on motorcycle and were unprepared to not have shampoo and conditioner in the shower (it's the little things), there were very few items in the bathroom to help us out and it also took us a while to find the hairdryer that was located in a drawer outside the bathroom. Also, in this day and age it would be wise to replace the lamps with lamps that have plugs in the base. There are limited plugs near the two queen beds and we were travelling with a total of four devices that required charging and it would have been nice to not have to spread them out all over the room. The restaurant closed at 9:00 and I understand this was the last long weekend of the summer we arrived at 8:15 to find out we would have to go elsewhere to eat, not too far away but I think in the last big weekend before the end of summer they could have kept the kitchen open even another half hour.
Loved the furniture. Felt like I was at a old manor house. Had a great lunch on the big wrap around veranda. Very good.
Great location, right in the middle of Baddeck. We were able to walk everywhere. Was a good stop before starting the Cabot Trail the next day.
We were placed in one of the 3 rooms in the original house. Maybe good for those who like the historic experience, but we would have preferred to be in the newer area. WiFi was terrible, didn't work at all. We did not eat in the restaurant below, as the prices were too steep.
A decent bed.
Carpet was not properly cleaned. Tub did not drain correctly. TV tube was shot with part of the screen green. I mentioned this all at check out and was given neither an apology nor a discount. Breakfast should have been included for the price charged.
Balcony was great and bathrooms were really clean
Beds were to hard and the carpets should be replaced
The outside of the building is charming.
No coffee in room, very noisy halls and doors, phone did not work, air was really loud, beds very hard, staff almost never at front desk, no vanity for toiletries in bathroom.
Great location, very clean, spacious and comfortable. Mark Mitchell
Restaurant closed at 8pm
Roomy and comfortable, with an old fashion look
Clean comfortable accommodations in the heart of Baddeck. Close to restaurants and right across the street from the nightly Nova Scotian Celtic music venue.
The Lynwood Inn restaurant's service and food was excellent.
Easy to find (across from the Information Office) and a perfect location for exploring Baddeck. On our second night, we had a balcony overlooking the beautiful perennial gardens at the front of the building-- perfect for coffee before breakfast! We had two different rooms on two different nights-- both were comfortable and nicely decorated; the first room had a small fridge (second did not). Plenty of room for three adults. We ate dinner on the patio of the Inn's restaurant-- lovely experience! Good food but NOT a fan of canned gravy (seriously?) on the turkey dinner.
The room's air conditioner was a bit noisy and disturbed our sleep. This lodging was the most expensive of our trip, and we found it a bit pricey. As well, breakfast was not included, as it was almost everywhere else we stayed.
Rooms were adequate
Beds were like sleeping on boards.
Clean & nice shower
The bed was terrible This is a poor value for the money
The location and the restaurant.
Was disappointed that we had to climb the stairs with our luggage. We thought we were going to be in the Motel part.
We enjoyed our stay and it was an added bonus to the wedding weekend that we attended. They were very accommodating at brunch the next day when our table for 6 became a table for 14. Lovely food and a great staff! The rooms were way above our expectation. Thank you!
Inn staff friendliness
Small room size, poor food, and over priced.
