Fresh towels every day and lovely breakfast and stuff to do!
My 6 bed room was spacey and was so well equipped. The bar area was so big and had so much choice with lots of great events. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and all round amazing.
The Wifi stopped periodically.
Room size; Reception; Breakfast; Pub downstairs; Excellent events. The events don't bother the people from the hostel.
Everything was super clean seemed brand new and all employees are very kind.
I think they should upgrade breakfast menu.. I stayed there for 4days but the menu always same and honestly, they were not very good. Except this here is perfect.
The "four star" misleaded us. It is not a formal hotel, it is a hostel. In this sense, it may be suitable to young people. The room is too small, and not clean. The bed and the cover is really uncomfortable. Comparing wiht the price, the living condition is too poor!
It is a really suitable and comfortable place for backpacker.
room good, clean, nice size bar was cool with comedy and music good breakfasts included in price reception staff great, i asked for a quiet room and i believe they took that into consideration
the only thing i would complain about is the noise level at night, i was on the bottom floor and the door into the common area and into the smoking area was frequently propped open at night which meant for me (a light sleeper), i would get woken up by noise from the bar and kitchen drifting into the corridor and then my room. my only complaint though.
The hostel is very modern, very clean A private bathroom in the beroom. games organized the evening
atmosphere not so familiar due to the fact that it is a very modern and clean hostel
Environment, bar downstairs. Usually I stay at bars that are either good to meet people or good in its instalations (clean, comfortable, etc.) but this hostel was good in both aspects. Staff is really friendly and helpful (I wish I could know the names of all of them, just remember Noemi, but the guy in the bar, the other guy and the other girls who stay in the reception, everyone is very cool - apart from this one I am mentioning in the negative comments).
No complains. Just one of the staff gave me a bad information, I almost felt like it was on purposeand he was not very friendly (don't know his name, he wears glasses and was on Thursday late night to Friday morning. And also the breakfast is supposed to go until 10am but if you get there by 9.40 on you might not find some of the foods and beverages that were supposed to be served.
+ theme parties in the evenings + good location + nice, easygoing guests
- the rooms are not clean - the bathrooms are not clean - the staff is always smiling, while they act some how (too) strict - the "stylish" design the pictures show is a good start, but it needs to be continued in the whole hostel - a duvet would be better then the thin blanket
Very convenient hotel, especially during the summer jazz festival since it is located close to the Quartier des Spectacles and the UQAM metro station. Breakfast is simple but quite relaxed in the basement billiard room.
The aircon was very noisy. Fortunately, opening the window at night was the right solution during our stay.
I loved this hostel! It was well worth the great reviews. I stayed in a female only dorm with 6 beds, and this was the first time I stayed in a dorm room alone. I very much enjoyed the people at the hostel, both the other guests and the staff. Everyone was very friendly, it is a great location as it's close to everything and the entire hostel was kept clean throughout my entire stay. If you are looking for a fun time in Montreal with like-minded travelers, I would highly recommend M Montreal!
overall staff was really nice; they had a free bbq our first night there; the breakfast was quite good for a continental breakfast
there was a miscommunication between the front desk and the cleaning staff that we didn't want housekeeping one day; the breakfast didn't have any cereal
Good localization some meters away from rue Sainte Catherine, the metro station. Not far from the bus station. Clean, beautiful decoration, nice and helpful staff. A lot of outlets - including 2 beside each bed - very practical to charge tablets and phones. The small bookstand beside each bed is very practical too, and each guest has their own reading light. A nice breakfast - considering it was free (croissants, bread, butter, pinabutter, juice, coffee - american style). Clean and stylish common kitchen, organized and offering everything you need to make your meal or just grab a bite. 2 computers are offeres for guests without computers. Wifi quality is excellent. They serve beer on the lobby, 7 canadian dollars a pint - the price range of the nearby bars... Perfect for budget travelers who are looking for a cool and clean place to stay.
Just a minor problem: the bathtub is not very practical and it sometimes "blocked": we had to wait for the water from previous shower to go. But the place has done some renovation and it maybe change in some months. I still recommend the place. =)
Location of the hostel near bars and restaurants and the Metro. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Just a suggestion to the management of the hostel to update their new name- M- Montreal from the old Hotel Les Alpes. Tour companies cannot find their new name on their directories.
Excellent value for money. Very clean and tidy kitchen. Very friendly and helpful staff. Walking dist from shopping area. Perfect night stay for a person who is going to be out of the hostel exploring during the day. Its in the gay area. It seemed to be a safe neighbourhood
The awkward position / placement of the wash basin (sink) in the bathroom.
Shared bathroom in my 6-person dorm was super clean. Fresh towels daily. Fast wi-fi throughout the hostel.
The hotel was clean. The staff was nice and friendly. The location is excellent.
Breakfast was too simple with only bread and coffee. There was no parking lot, so we had to park at a paid parking lot at a 15-minute-walk distance.
Was here for a night, in a private room. Comedy Night was very nice, this place has a great entertainment program, fantastic bar-lounge, totally awesome staff, the place is spotlessly clean, everything's modern, shiny, and functional. The private rooms have good hotel standard.
Private rooms are on street-level, so sleeping with open windows, or leaving windows open when you leave, is an issue (and windows open too little to quickly let air in). The breakfast in the basement is a bit bleak. A terrasse would be nice (without the bins right there).
Very friendly. Helpful and keen to guide you. Tour of old town was excellent
Staff was very friendly and helpful Claude led a great tour around Old Port Facilities were very clean!
The staff were very friendly and always would strike up conversation. There was a good atmosphere.
