Great location and nice restaurant next door
I was not able to use the internet - said it was not connected. I did not pursue the matter since I was only there one night
Close to everything you need. Bed was comfy and the room had everything that I needed for a short stay.
The lift smelt bad and was very slow. The room had no powerpoints beside the bed.
Clean and simple ambience - modern/funky and fun and still retaining a professional and friendly atmosphere. Having the SportsBar, Wine Bar and Italian restaurant are definite drawcards despite both Wine Bar and Italian Restaurant both somewhat pricey!
Wine Bar clearly was not into customer service - leaving clientele basically ignored with no acknowledgment or welcome.
Great style, feels boutiquey rather than cheap. Lots of amenities and great staff.
Parking was far away but honestly not even worth complaining about.
Location is great! Close to restaurants, walking distance to shopping area.
There's a jazz session in the bar every Friday, from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM. That can sound cool, but the fact is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep for that. Almost the entire second floor is affected for it. There is no acoustic insulation at all!
Customer service and location were good
My reservation was not in their computer and had to pay a higher rate. Walls and floors were thin, it was loud and noisy. Room was very basic and tight for space. Will not be returning or recommending Moda Hotel.
Suitable for friends from seattle and New Zealand to catch up close to city and helpful staff
Only one elevator so you wait quite long.
noise levels where very high
Location, location, location!
Don't forget to put the do not disturb sign up or you'll get an early morning wake-up from housekeeping. :)
in the heart of fun and good times
I threw up in the bathroom after too much fun and good times
This place is a great deal. Great location, staff are nice and helpful, and wine bar downstairs--a great place to chill between work stuff.
I wish I didn't have to keep logging into the wireless--it was a bit annoying when I had work to do.
location is pretty nice. We kept our luggage whole day in hotel when we stayed last day in Vancouver after checking-out. It is wonderful and kind.
my shower room is for couple , it's quite embrassed for friends because the wall is made by glass . I feel the hotel should remind this point
Good proximity to the skytrain, restaurants/bars and shopping and about $100 CDN a night, taxes in. WiFi is fairly reliable and gratis.
Rooms at the Moda are tired, dark and gloomy, and they have bad energy. Combined, these are not great qualities in a vacation hotel. My cab driver remembered the early rough “glory days” of the Dufferin Hotel AKA "The Duff." I rationalized my decision to stay there because I wanted to see if there was a less expensive accommodation alternative for my regular trips to Vancouver. However, after this recent trip, I think I'll continue to drop a few extra bucks and stick with the Sutton Place, which is still my #1 fave in Vancouver.
This hotel is in the heart of Yaletown, 5 minutes walk from the Canada Line station (connection to the airport) and few blocks from restaurant and shopping districts. The bed is incredibly comfortable, very sturdy and solid.
The heating system was not very easy to use, it took me a couple of days to understand how it worked and in the meantime the temperature in the room was not optimal. There are a restaurant, a bar and a pizzeria associated with the hotel, but you don't get any discount if you are an hotel guest.
The room was comfy and had all the amenities that you would expect.
The building is quite old and the walls are thin as a result. It can be a little noisy at times. Connecting to the Internet was more complicated than it should have been.
We circled the hotel several times looking for a loading zone or valet and ended up having to double park until one of us went into the hotel to ask. We discovered we had to load/unload from a parking lot across the street and on level 5. Crossing traffic with two suitcases, etc. was not fun. Also, the hotel bed was extremely uncomfortable and the bars music from the floor below our room was on high volume until 1 a.m. The carpet was in need of replacement and there were areas of the hotel that were unclean and looked worn.
Great location, friendly staff and clean. Just make sure you stay on the 3rd or 4th floors.
Location was excellent Friendly and efficient staff, who went out of their way to assist. Lovely room and constant hot water
The room was opposite the lift and by the staircase on level 2 so a bit noisy. The doors should be thicker! You had to sign in to the wifi every time you used it - even 5 minute gaps!
Nice staff, good location for walking around town.
smell of Chinese food wafting in our room in the evenings. Can't park even for a minute near hotel to check in or get bags out of car. Parking not far but not convenient esp in rain, would think that would lower hotel's charge for parking.
Modern touches in funky older building (the floor slanted down from one side of the bathroom to the other, for example). Staff were fabulous, location outstanding, parking easy, and personally I loved the "antique" unique features of the building although some travelers may prefer more recent construction. We are returning to Vancouver this summer and already booked to stay there again, if that is any indication of how much we enjoyed our stay.
Bed was a little firm, and pillows, too, but I travel with my own pillow so that didn't faze me. That's it--wonderful otherwise.
The hotel is located right in the middle of town and is handy to everything. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are decorated nicely and are comfortable with all the amenities you would expect - bar fridges available on request. The bed was comfy with nice linen. There is double glass on the windows to keep out the street noise and black out blinds on the windows so it's dark when you're sleeping. There was a large screen telly with loads of channels in different languages. There was loads of hot water every morning for the shower. The hotel has a great business centre on the 3rd floor. It's easy to walk to the hotel from the Skytrain which comes from the airport.
You can faintly hear people moving about in other rooms and the wifi was difficult to access at first. Staff were able to help with this by giving me a different wifi code. There was a slightly musty smell in my room but I was able to open the window for some fresh air. There is a coffee maker in the room but no tea kettle. There is no exercise room. The check out time was 11am :-(
Location is amazing - right in downtown next to tons of restaurants and shops
outdated hotel, poor wifi, overpriced
