A good first experience with B&B.
Stand in staff and her breakfast was good
Owner left note and was never present. Directions to find outside entrance to rooms needs improvement. Put numbers on out side door if a live person will not be there to greet guests.
The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the view from our room, breakfast was also very good.
The shower in our room was dreadful, either boiling hot or freezing cold and only a miniscule stream made it very difficult to have a decent shower in the morning.
We had another breakfast to go to, so only enjoyed a nice night's sleep.
Comfy, good location, clean.
Hosts weren't around until breakfast, but pleasant then.
Ease, friendliness, breakfast
If you need a town with services, this is not the place.
Sandy is both a great host and great cook. We had engaging conversation and learned a lot about him and the area. Would go back again.
Difficult to find
Sandy was great! We were delayed on our trip due to a hurricane and he was able to accommodate us in every way. Very welcoming and the room was very spacious with a huge comfortable bed and lots of pillows. There was a fridge to put some food and ice packs on the main floor. They asked when we'd like breakfast and timed the meal to ensure everyone at the inn had a spot at the table. We really appreciated this flexibility!
The lock on the door to our room was what my husband called a "rodeo". The parking pad could have presented issues if it was a full house. The B&B is located on a cul de sac so we didn't want to impose on the neighbours.
Bed, decor, quiet, bathroom
Communal breakfast - we find it hard to socialise with strangers and so one table as only option for breakfast makes this hard, so we opted not to have the breakfast though it looked lovely.
Extremely clean and comfortable. Very helpful owners. Every room private and quiet. Fabulous breakfast.
Huge king size bed and bedroom suite. Great host!
The room was a little stuffy. Not the easiest to find.
First time staying at a b&b, it was very quaint and quiet. Very clean and comfortable. Owner was very welcoming. Breakfast area was perfect to sit and enjoy some delicious eats.
Location was ok for us because we have a car. However if you want to get anywhere you need to drive from this location.
No complaints at all
Just a little bit of a hard time finding it...
The food service was excellent! The food options were great. The room was extremely comfortable.
No one met us when we arrived.
Friendly owner.. very helpful.. good breakfast
It lis a beautiful house and a very nice, comfortable room. It has an immaculate bathroom. The owner Sandy was helpful, friendly and served a great breakfast. We will definitely recommend this accommodation!!
Our trip into Halifax started with a 6am flight. Our plans were to stay up in the highlands of Cape Breton Island, but from the airport, it would be a 6 hour drive -- much too long a drive after such a long morning! So we stayed in Port Hawkesbury, a perfect in-between point. The B&B was perfect. Sandy, the owner, was very nice and made sure we were able to check in without any trouble, even though he wasn't there when we arrived. He also makes excellent eggs!
Sandy was a great and hospitable host. The room was very comfortable.
The setting is a suburban neighborhood, so it's not a picturesque getaway spot, but a good location if you are just finishing a visit to Cape Breton.
Really enjoyed our stay - so cozy and great location!
Nice quiet room and Sandy was a true Gentleman, very friendly. He cooked up a great breakfast each morning and we had some great conversations while we had our breakfast each day. I would recommend this place and location to anybody that is looking for a clean, quiet place to stay while in Port Hawksberry or Cape Breton
The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious
The common areas were messy and dirty. The heat in our room would not go above 18 celsius. There was no one in charge or otherwise at the house when we arrived. The doors were unlocked and other than the lady that made our breakfast we did not see anyone who ran the operation. Guest apparently are supposed to handle any emergencies!!!This place is highly rated and I'm not sure why. I think you should have someone look into this. The owner was in Alberta and we feel he should not be accepting guests while he's away and hasn't left a responsible person in charge.

Friendly and obliging hosts. Rooms were lovely ... clean and homely, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Yummy breakfast. Outstanding value!
The room was clean, Good Hot breakfast prepared by hostess.
Did not like being met at the door by a dog in a non pet environment. Front entrance was dirty.
