Convenient location We made the reservation three months prior to our arrival for two nights. At check in they had a one night reservation for us. After much squirming the man at the desk sent us to a dark, dank room that opened onto an indoor swimming pool that was noisy and that reeked of chlorine. We went back to the reservations desk and asked for help in finding a room at another motel. A room with a kitchenette, which we did not need, was found located behind the motel up two flights of stairs. In a word the man that handled our situation acted as if we were the party that had made the mix-up and seemed more interested in booking us in this motel instead of helping us find a nice room in Jasper..

Location Comfortable bed Over priced Poor appearance Room seemed to be partially renovated but old ugly furniture remained we did not like the position of the room, overlooking an indoor swimming pool needing curtains to be drawn at all times for privacy but the only alternative offered was of very poor quality and more expensive.

Pillows were excellent, beds were comfortable. Very tight on the towels had to call to get more as housekeeping only left one. Front desk staff was not helpful and appeared not to care about opinion of guest about room. Restaraunt was just plain awful. You can find better food at the pet store.

I found it was over priced for what we got. Our room over looked the pool and it was a sauna in our room. Very uncomfortable.

Maligne Lodge is well placed in Jasper, the staff was friendly. In the past however I didn't find the breakfast buffet to be as good as I expected it to be for the price. Because of this I went to another breakfast in the morning. Other than that it was a nice room at a great price. It was winter and there could have been a mat at the front door as I tracked in snow bringing my bags in.

My room was cold and took a long time to heat up to a comfortable level. I asked for help and the maintenance guy came and said the heat was working. It took 2 days to heat up, but the outside temp got warmer as well. I complained and was told to contact the manager and no price reductions were possible. I will not stay here again and will tell people about this issue. The heating system is inadequate.

My son and I really enjoyed our stay. We found the beds and pillows reminded us of home. He asked if we could stay there again next year but we would remember to bring our bathing suits. Very good stay. I would recomend staying at Maligne to everyone. House keeping had missed a used plastic knife on the floor. That was all we noticed

My 6 year old son got ;locked into the bathroom at the pool. No body there seemed to know what to do. We had to break the door down ourselves and no apology.

Staff was excellent- greeting at front desk very friendly. We asked for towels for the hot tub and they were delivered right to the tub! The room was perfect- comfy beds, nice to have the separate room for the 2nd bed. Kitchenette was ok- could use a 2nd frying pan (one for eggs and one for bacon) also, the bread knife was too dull to slice bread, but not really a big deal! All in all the Maligne was a great place to stay, I would definitely go back.

Location: We were close to skiing and walking distance to downtown. Rooms: The beds were extremely comfortable. Cleanliness: seems things were prepared for a busy new years weekend. We had to ask for towels, rooms were not cleaned as expected. Actually for the $ per night we were expecting more up to date rooms. The restaurant only being open for breakfast? If thats the case yous should just have a complimentary breakfast. Having this would have been nice to compensate.

Location The beds were uncomfortable, neighbors were rowdy, and shower temperature kept fluctuating. For all three days we stayed there whenever we would shower the water temperature would constantly go from freezing to burning.

Room smelled like a fireplace Door to bathroom didn't close or open properly Shower head was so low you had to duck to use it, I'm 5 ft 7! Shower was cold on hottest setting Originally booked a standard king room, upon arrival this was changed to two queen beds without us knowing beforehand, apparently this was an upgrade. Walkways slippery Room was too hot even on coldest heat setting, had to leave window open all night

“i loved it. the room was cozy and clean. the staff were profession and personable. when i checked in the clerk had my reservation ready immediately, she looked into some evening entertainment for us, she showed us where to go for the dinner we wanted (which was a great fit for us, the brewing co.). next time we are in jasper we will be sure to use all the facilities the tonquin inn offers - our only regret is that we didn't stay long enough! thanks for a great stay!” Crystal, Calgary |
