Great location and interesting building. Breakfast was also a treat with fresh croissants.
At night the building was easy to walk past. Signage by the sidewalk may have helped.
Nice cozy Victorian manor with a great location. Near metro and McGill
Desk didn't tell us we had to put out the room clean card to get our room cleaned
Located within walking distance of downtown attractions, shops and restaurants. Taxi rank outside the door. Staff were helpful, but not very knowledgeable with regard to the local area. Room was large and comfortable. Slightly quirky feel.
Not really any dislikes; breakfast was a bit of a waste of time, handy for grabbing something on the way out, but not really worthwhile. Lots of stairs and no lift. Old building with lots of levels and odd shapes adds to character, but could do with a facelift.
The bathroom is a bit dirty!
The location was very good
The room was dark and dingy with only a very small window, the wardrobe door was hanging off, the carpet was filthy, the room measured 4 x 3 metres and therefore not suitable for double occupancy. The electric socket was unsafe to use
Good location, no problem with parking close to the hotel. I really thank the staff which was really nice!
The room is very old. The breakfast could have better choice.
Good central location, rooms are quite nice but a bit tired.
We were put in a room that was tiny, and the private bathroom was down the hallway. This was very inconvenient and although we were able to change rooms for one of the nights, we had to pay extra. There was no kettle or fridge, and no lifts to get our very heavy suitcase up the room (nor did any staff offer to help)
Location is great, near all major shops.
It felt very 'tired' and not really like a hotel at all!
restaurants are close as is the art museum
The front desk sometimes did not seem organized. They were nice but missing some follow through.
Bathroom down the hall and not in room and did not tell me in advance.
The friendliest staff!
Location, free parking on street
Room was not ready when we arrived. Hotel was grungy, Fire alarm in our room went off at 3:30am, staff says that happens all the time, probably because the alarms look 40 years old. Staff was not helpful, and did not know the area. Never offered apology or discount for inconvience. Room only had a double bed. Bathroom was actually a closet. All in all a horrible hotel for $200 a night. (Think they double their prices as it was the Heavy MTL concert that weekend). We realized it wouldn't be anything special, but were hoping for $200 you could get something decent.
This hotel has a great location and very beautiful looking appearance house.
However, it is a very old house, and felt not clean enough. I don't if it's mental feeling or real feeling that I did feel itchy a lot while my stay for 2 nights. Honestly, I believe it could be better maintained.
Historic charm of building. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Outstanding location. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.
Stairs, stairs and more stairs. No elevator and no porters. Did I mention the stairs?
The location was excellent, a short walk to St. Catherine's, Crescent St. and the subway.
The economy room was, tiny, outdated, dingy and poor value for money. However, this was not my first choice but the only room available.
Nice small and quite comfortable hotel, close to downtown
I'd prefer a bit greater choice for breakfast
Location great near McGill Coffee available all day Good bed and TV and washroom Air Cond Nice desk staff
Dated Rooming House Look. Small size room. No chairs Old Carpet - needs replacing Late continental breakfast on weekend -- not ready at 730. Many had to wait for the coffee etc. Stairs - make sure you can handle or tell them you need a lower floor Wonder if for 40 $ more I could have a larger room elsewhere nearby with chairs and newer carpet, I would spend the extra money.
Really interesting place to stay!
Didn't know you had to reserve parking in advance Rooms are quite small
Its location in the city center
sevral things were not fixed up (example fire detector hanging down in the room).
It was perfect location. It was Comfy bed and nice hotel.
It was pretty hot and humid inside during hot weather . Not sure how it works with AC . The plug was very low like iPhone recharge to plug it and it was too slow.
The location is ideal
No lift, narrow stairs that are not ideal for older people of for luggag.
- The location (next to metro station, next to stairs to Mt Royal) - The calm - The bed was comfortable
- The breakfast (limited choice, no yoghurt, orange juice full of water). Tea and fruits were OK. - Wi-fi didn't work very well from the room (top floor, end of the corridor)
Location was excellent for central Montreal, and metro station just 5 mins. walk away
Website did not reflect what we actually found on arrival. I think website is being addressed to more accurately reflect the style and facilities
The staff here were amazing, super friendly and accommodating. The location was also great and the room was very clean.
The room was insanely small. The bathroom was literally a closet turned into a bedroom. No elevator. Had to climb three flights of stairs. It felt a bit more like a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel.
