Location, location, location! Very easy to access all sights of old city.
Hotel bedroom a bit small for a week's stay. No wardrobe in bedroom 7.
Totally enjoyed our stay here. Front room with amazing view of park and roof of Chateau Frontenac. Minutes from Dufferin Boardwalk and beside the Citadel! Wanted to stay an extra night it they were full. Not surprised!
Bathroom small but can be expected in an old renovated building.
Close to old town sites like Citadel. Staff was very nice. Room was very spacious, and nice.
This lovely hotel is located one short block off the boardwalk and near the center of the walled city. It's charming decor matches the city's feel perfectly. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. The wifi works particularly well. Although the rooms are individually furnished with charming older pieces, the bathroom in our suite was spacious and very modern. A perfect pick to live in the old world charm of Quebec.
This really not a negative but travelers should know that like much of Quebec the hotel is located up a rather steep hill and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has trouble with that. However, that would also hold true for most of the old city.
Liked it all....
Could have been a nicer patio out back
The hotel room was extremely clean and well-decorated. The front desk staff were exceedingly kind and helpful. The location is ideal, across the street from a beautiful park and from the front door there's a nice view of the St Lawrence. From my room, I had a great view of Chateau Frontenac.
The window didn't open and had an unsightly air conditioning vent going through it.
Staff is very nice. Great location.
We had 2 different rooms during our stay. One of the rooms was very small with very nice bathroom. The other one is much bigger with very uncomfortable bathroom.
Upon checking in, a man informed us that we were illegally parked and that one of us should stay with the car...i went in to check-in while my wife stayed with the vehicle. A lady was just leaving the front desk and said she would be back in acouple days....moments later she came back to inform me that her husband had found us a free parking spot nearby and was waiting there for me to park there. It turned out that these peopleb werec the owners of the hotel and had just done us a big favour as parking is at a premium and public parking lots are very expensive. That is ciustomer service....and the young lady at reception, mariane, was superb and very pleasant to deal with. In fact, all staff members were fantastic...my wife doesn't speak french and all staff members were mopre than happy to converse in english. We will definitely go back to manoir sur le cap....cudos to them for excellent service. By the way, the rooms are fabulous also and the location is unbeatable
Excellent location within walking distance of attractions and amenities. Wonderful accommodation for 3 adults. Charming décor and ambiance. The staff went beyond expectations with help and advice.
The location was perfect! The hotel was very unique and different from other places we have stayed. The room was freshly renovated-but it still had great character with a great modern bathroom. Our room was also a nice size, bigger than we expected.
We has a fabulous stay at this lovely hotel. Staff were excellent - very pleasant and helpful. Location is perfect. Thank you.
We liked it all!
The room we stayed in was charming, although tight, and had a fantastic view of Chateau Frontenac.
Quiet, although air-conditioner was a bit noisy. Fine location - right in the heart of old city within easy walking distance to sights, parks, museums. Hotel is entirely non-smoking. Staff was very friendly.
Some rooms on are floors without elevator access. Bonus - walking stairs is good exercise.
Loved the friendly helpful staff, ice available. Coffee machine and pods. Owners helped with our parking problems. Location and quietness in a city was wonderful as were views from Room 7
A fridge in room would be great as no breakfast or meals available. A communal washer drier could be installed for guests to use and pay for as the laundrette is a long walk. Advice on booking re parking costs would be helpful. Need to get address on GPS system!
Location, rooms, staff, great place to stay
Wonderful well cared for hotel with loads of individual charm and character. Relatively quiet location just off the main tourist grid but still very close to the major historic sites, cafes and shops and some of the best vantage points to view the old city and St Laurence river from.
we were very impressed with the location of our hotel, and its proximity to parking garage , and resaurants , and shops . the hotel is charming , our room was clean and the bathroom renovated ... the staff were very nice and even asked if they could help carry our bags out of our room when we left.. we would stay there again.
The 54 steps up the stairs to our room was a bit much ...I recommend a room on a lower floor if you are not physically fit .
We loved our stay at Manoir Sur Le Cap! I stayed in the condo (Deluxe Suite) with my sons 16 & 20. There's plenty of room with a double Murphy bed, a single cot and couch upstairs in the living area, and a comfy double bed in the pretty bedroom on the lower floor. The rooms were clean, the bathroom was luxurious and well stocked; bath and kitchen towels and bedding were replaced each day. The kitchen had everything we needed for snacks and quick easy meals. The cleaning crew even washed my dishes! A small balcony overlooks the river, and there's lots of upstairs lounging room to watch TV and relax. 2 staircases should be considered if you have mobility issues, but the climb is well worth it! My sons were quite comfortable and thought the condo was quite fancy. The 2 levels afforded all of us privacy when needed. The staff at Manoir were unfailingly friendly and efficient. They were happy to provide tourist info and the taxi they ordered the night before our 5:45 AM departure arrived right on time. The building is old but updated and clean; its age is a large part of its charm and one of the reasons we booked it. We recommend the condo and Manoir sur le Cap and would stay there again.
We found it to be a charming atmosphere what we were hoping, in keeping with old world charm
Staff need to be aware/trained on how the underground parking works, rates how to pay etc.. When we arrived the staff member at the front desk said she was not sure how it worked and to be carefull of what you pay
Very quiet, convenient location with views of the park and Chateau Frontenac from our room. The room was a little cramped but had charm, and was very clean.
The window doesn't open -- an air conditioner fitted to window is the only outside ventilation in the room we stayed in. The reception desk staff was not very welcoming -- hardly spoke to us when we registered and did not ask if we needed help with anything. The housekeeping staff was much friendlier.
Liked everything--great location to both upper and lower towns.
Long climb to 4th floor to our room.
The staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel facility is charming and well-maintained. Everything was sparkling clean. The location is amazing, right behind the Hotel Frontenac, facing a little park and overlooking the St Lawrence. Everything in town is walkable from this spot. We will definitely return to Quebec City and when we do, we will stay at Manoir-Sur-le-Cap.
There was nothing we did not like. We seriously do not have one single complaint.
Fantastic location and great sized rooms
Great central spot, but away from the hustle of the area. Room was a pleasant surprise with terrace area and out door entrance.
Was not aware of the extra cooking appliances in the room until we arrived so we did not bring any supplies for lunches. Not a big concern but would have been a nice relaxation stop during the day.
