Fireplace in the Japanese room was very noisy, we had to turn it off.
Loved the jacuzzi an sauna in our room.
Wasn't happy being told one thing over the phone an another in person. They didn't have everything in order when I was there.
Jacuzzi Decor Night staff girl was very friendly and took her time showing us how everything worked. She did forget our movies but we reminded her and she promptly brought them..
1) Fridge was so tiny we couldnt put our food inside and there were no dishes or cutlery 2) There were no closets for our clothing. 3) There was no ironing board. 4) Grey haired lady on day staff was really rude twice, once to my friend and once to me. 5) I went to check out and hollered hello, twice, rang the bell twice, finally went behind desk to a door and asked a fellow there if anyone worked here, and he seemed upset by my comment and then when he realized I had rented a room became friendly again. 6) In Rome anyway the tv is angled to face bed or table but the bed is a sideways view so uncomfortable and the table is well not a couch...so neither is very relaxing. 7) Had to hall huge heavy suitcase up lots of stairs... 8) the worst of all...NO PARKING Most likely will not go there again just because of lady in day. To spend that amount of money and then be treated like a bother is unacceptable.
We will never forget. We came to our India theme suite right after our wedding, and realized it was perfection. After the waterfall hot tub, we opened gifts on the pool table, used the steam sauna before playing pool on our in-room table, with music playing and champagne. We gorged on the food platter assembled for us. After slumbering on the giant bed and coffee in the morning, we ripped ourselves away. The hotel was pure luxury and I want to go back!!!
The staff were incredible, the room was absolutely gorgeous (we stayed in Rome). We arrived to a candle lit room, with romantic "Rome" music playing, it was breathtaking. We loved the way the room was built around the jacuzzi tub. We could sit and relax, and also watch tv from the tub. Another favorite from this hotel is the bedding, the sheets were so soft and luxurious, as well as the pillows. The sauna shower was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay here.
The location isn't horrible, but it's not great either. As for the soundproof rooms, they are soundproof from the other rooms, but not from outside. We heard a lot of traffic and city noise, which brings you back to reality while you're trying to escape. I also did not like the fact that after 9pm there is no one there. They have a number you can call for the owner who lives in the building, but there is no one at the reception desk.
So so very disapointed! I was really looking forward to a night away without kids. We booked Japan, I assumed because of the price it was going to be perfect. The room was noisy- we could hear street noise- footsteps from above, even the noise from the pedestrian crossing. The bed was tiny and terribly uncomfortable. Looking around the room, the windows were so dirty i couldn't see out them and dust bunnies were falling from the ceiling register. We were upgraded to the morrocan room but still so not worth the money! Never again
Stayed in the Jakarta room. What a place. Felt like a rock star! Couldn't ask for anything better!
Since it's in the Exchange district the noise level outside might not please some. It didn't bother us and the music shut down around midnight.
The location is fine. It was quiet.
It's shabby, someone has tried to make a very old building into a theme room type hotel with handyman skills mand budget, but charging top dollar. Fine if you are stuck, as I was. Some might find the neighbourhood a bit rough.
Checked in by cranky old lady who informed me of $500 charge for lost keys or "oily sheets". Couldn't get TV, wifi, DVD, sauna, steamer etc. to work properly. Would not book again.
So hot in room with no ac
The atmosphere in the room with the décor and etc. Was very very nice.
There was a fair amount of noises from the area but manageable enough
The room was clean, spa tub and steam shower were great.
The first thing was the entrance, not easily accessible lots of stairs and difficult to get luggage up those stairs. The bed mattress could be upgraded very soft mattress. The room was a bit crowded with all the extras T.V was on a swivel but not easily seen while in bed had to sit at foot of bed to see the screen.
I liked the decor and had a good time with my boyfriend despite the negative aspects that we experienced.
First time we tried to go for a romantic getaway and they actually didn't realize we were coming and locked us out of the hotel (there was no front desk staff there). Appearantly they thought we weren't coming even after I called and said we were and also booked it with this website. Second time we went we were given a discount on the penthouse suite, but the "romance" package we got only seemed to include dinner (which was very late) and a bottle of wine (which they forgot to give us so we got it the next day). The romance package brought the price to above what I was going to pay for the first night we were to stay. There was no staff after about 9 pm, place was completely empty which seemed odd.
Loved the room!
