The location could not have been beat. Within minutes of leaving the hotel, we were able to do some great shopping and were near some lovely restaurants. I had the horrible experience of the front desk "help" woman who did nothing but make us wait for 10 minutes while debating the screen shot print out that I had of my booking number. Then, she gave us a horrible, dirty room that was also three sizes too small. Never have I been "helped" by someone so rude. Further, we had paid for breakfast vouchers in the original payment and she never gave them to us, forcing us to go back down to the front desk the next morning and wait an additional 10 minutes for this to be filled. She was there on check out, and she laughed and smirked the entire time. Also, the hot tub jets don't work. I would not go back. Nor, would I recommend this to anyone.

Proxcimity to our plans in the city / restaurants...etc. I booked on line at $99 for the night which was my main decision to stay at the met as there were other hotels that offered similar rates. When we checked out there was an additional charge on the bill that was explained as a "facilities" charge that was a surprise and a charge that we....and another couple we were travelling with view as a hidden charge to make up for the low rate....sneeky marketing that bindsides people and leads to one time only stays and no repeat business. I expect that I will now warn family and friends of this approach your hotel has to deceptive marketing and continue to for a long time......likely will result in far more in lost business than the $10.....

The location The hotel room was very old. I paid a little more because I thought I would get more for my money, but the tv was old, the decor was from the 70's, and the carpet was stained.

I chose this hotel for its location. The common areas are very nice. However, the rooms leave much to be desired.

I like the privacy, comfort, beds and pillows, expediency, wifi, windows that open, good value, ease of access, location, beds and pillows...(oh I said that already :) When ordering freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast in a hotel, I think it should actually come from oranges that have indeed been freshly squeezed that same morning in the hotel kitchen.

Very convenient to shopping and sightseeing. A pleasant environment with consistently high quality of food and service. Food service staff were attentive and friendly Front desk service was slow and inefficient - this undid all the hard work of the concierge and door-keeping staff

The hotel front desk were simply bad. Try to cheat the guests especially you hold English not well enough. It is shame for staff, hotel and Toronto at all.

It has a good location for shopping and the arts. It is also close to the University of Toronto. Room was small with only one chair. Bathroom was older with outdated fixtures. Room was not up to my expectations based on other Toronto hotels where I have stayed.

Bed was excellent. Nice windows, nice blackout curtains. Great location. Easy check in/out. Price was good, parking convenient Our room was next to the elevators and the ice machine. The ice machine kept me awake periodically through the night. I realize someone has to have those rooms, but can you make them more soundprooof? Didn't like the "facilities" fee on the bill. Whirlpool didn't work.

Room was comfortable We booked this hotel about two months before travelling. The hotel took the money from our credit card straight away. When we arrived at 8:30 pm, we were told that our room was not yet available and that we would have to wait for at least an hour. The hotel details state that the room would be available from 3:00 pm. We eventually got into our room after 10:00 pm. Admittedly we were given a free meal and breakfasts as compensation, but this was only after making a scene at reception. The hotel initially did not offer anything. There were a number of other guests in the same situation.

This hotel, generally, has a nice "feel" about it. We did utilise the courtesy car on the morning of our departure. The room was smaller than expected, as was the tv, and the carpet in our room was, in my wife's words "horrible and stained". I guess you can be unlucky!

Hemispheres restaurant & lounge is upscale yet comfortable & calming surroudings with excellent cuisine & service! The dim sum served on the 2nd Floor was absolutely sumptuous along with impeccable service in an exquisite atmosphere! The hotel rooms are quite dated & need a critical makeover! Also, the televisions should all be replaced with flat/digital/plasma screens. Otherwise, my room was clean & comfortable & I enjoyed my stay! I would definately recommend the Metropolitan to others.
