We stayed at the Moon & Sixpence for three nights. Wonderful host, great food. The facilities were outstanding. We had the suit with an enormous bathroom. The common area was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Coffee maker and microwave were available. Well worth the money.
Good location and great staff
Our hostess was friendly and very helpful in providing local information, as well as excellent breakfasts. The B&B is roomy, attractive, and quiet.
Moon & Sixpence is one of very few places that offers a one-night stay. We were thankful to find this place. The hostess is wonderful - friendly and thoughtful. She makes a wonderful breakfast as well! Thank you! Just a short drive into Ucluelet and Alice is helpful in pointing out things to do and see. Would recommend.
The outside needs tending but the hostess is too busy keeping up with the inside to handle that as well. Not a criticism as much as an acknowledgment that this business is hectic!
Large, comfortable room. Private bathroom was huge and very clean. Breakfast at a large table with other guests had several options, and varied some each day. Our hostess was most definitely happy to meet and help travelers enjoy this lovely part of the world. Location is out of town, but it's a quick easy drive to attractions.
The House Rules are all easy to comply with, but can seem a bit unusual (many adult travelers might be unused to being told what hours to not flush the toilet, and would prefer not have to juggle parking spaces in a country location).
We really enjoyed our stay at Moon and Sixpence - home was beautifully decorated with the owner's own paintings. She is quite talented. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Breakfast was fabulous. I highly recommend this B&B.
Gorgeous home, very clean, comfortable room, reading room with a view, nice breakfast.
No TV or internet
The owner was very friendly and gave lots of suggestions. Great breakfast.
Quiet comfortable room. Very nice and caring hostess. Excellent and rich breakfast. Beautiful house and good location although outside town center. Great advice from Alice, the hostess, about things to see and do.
No wifi. Used wifi at local cafe. Not a big problem.
Host was friendly and helpful
Alice is a very friendly and helpful hostess. Very good breakfasts. The inn is roomy and airy with large windows. was quite comfortable.
Policy is that we had to remove our shoes at the front door. That's OK, but i made taking our luggage up and down the long, bare wooden stairs a bit dangerous as one could not get good traction in stocking feet. That's an accident waiting to happen.
Breakfast (mainly fresh homemade food with ingredients you choose), very clean and quiet, nice owner, good information about the area, restaurant menus for almost every restaurant in town (and even Tofino) available
Nothing, but you should consider: there are cats around (in case you're allergic) but they are only in the common area and not in your room. They are also very quiet.
Our room and ensuite were very spacious. Alice is lovely and made us a great breakfast. The rest of her guests were a nice mix at the table. My husband has never been a fan of B.& B but after staying here he has changed his mind.
Not much of a view
Alice was very friendly, great breakfast, spacious room with full kitchen, peace and quiet.
Very friendly and informative Alice is an exceptional host... Excellent overall
Would be nice to have tv but not a deal breaker as we were pretty tired after our days out.
Alice was very friendly and attentive to any needs. The room was very spacious and immaculate. The bathroom was huge with a large tub and shower. Breakfast was fabulous with omelets, fruit, toast, homemade jams and muffins. You will nver leave hungry. Even gave me my muffin to go. Very knowledgeable about the area. Was able to keep some things in the fridge. Loved the peace c and quiet. Fabulous place and host.
Excellent breakfasts. Enthusiastic hostess who was very helpful, warm and obliging. She made recommendations and booked tickets for us. We liked having breakfast round the big table with the other guests.
We were upgraded to the under build apartment and would have preferred to have been in the house with access to the lovely lounge and views. The apartment kitchen area was very well-equipped and it would have been perfect for a family group. However, the decor was a bit dated and the room was too cool and dark. The shower was adequate but basic. Sadly, because of an accident,Alice couldn't change the bed linen everyday and it was difficult getting the towels dry enough to use the following morning. We were disappointed and envied the guests in the house! We were there for 3 nights so it mattered.
I liked the bedroom and massive bathroom but most of all the breakfasts were just brilliant
Very nice hostess! Was delighted to help us with finding a nice restaurant, had maps of the area (and the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve), great breakfast as well. Would certainly come again!
Loved Alice's enthusiasm, interaction with her and other guests at the breakfast table. The good variety of breakfast goodies that was quite delicious!
